As it class 1 truck driver myself, I hate the fact that people make up rules saying don't turn up too early or should get fined.. It's frustrating as it is being a truck driver with the amount of pressure that we have on topograph, safe place to park, traffic, and many more it's nice to know we get fined if we do something right 🤣
Have been following you now for a few weeks now Luke , and really enjoy your content, I am coming to the end of my driving career this year and watching you makes my happy there are some brilliant young drivers coming through and also I realise that I am going to miss driving . Stay safe Luke and keep on doing what you are doing 👍
I used to do a 3 day job delivering motor parts from Cornwall to Kent and into London in the 1990s, about 38 to 40 drops thereabouts. Then I decided to do it the opposite way doing the M1 corridor from the Midlands into London and down into Kent last drop in Herne Bay then I'd park up in Dover on Wednesday night. Then I'd do a £1.00 return ferry walk on trip across the Channel to buy the duty free stuff and have a meal and drink on board. On Tuesday I'd continue west doing drops until I got to Southampton and I'd park up at Lorraine's truck stop (now sadly closed when the council built a swimming pool) where I'd flog the duty-free in the Anglesea Arms pub whilst having a pub meal and drink. Friday I'd continue west doing more drops until I got to Plymouth where I'd park up on the Ferry near Union Street where I'd end up, you guessed it, in the pubs on the famous Union Street, having a laugh and joke with the women and the gangsters. I'd get home on Saturday morning just in time for the pub. Happy days.
Im not being cocky here Luke. I've a wee tip for ya ,I used this strapping technique regularly on timber work. You see when you got the first drop off at B&Q and you were left with nothing behind the next bails of fencing, I used to put the strap hook through between the timber and the trailer onto the trailer, put the strap over the fencing and ratchet it up on the same side as the hook, tightens everything up and won't collapse towards the empty space on the trailer. Hope this is useful. Love the vids
I used to put strap underneath, then throw ends over the top, twist once and back to the side they started. that basically binds the panels together and down at the same time, handy for 6’ wide stacks, stops them sliding across the trailer. Also if you’ve enough straps strap the drops separately where possible. Surprised didn’t have to put a fly sheet over that lot as well, relying on the banding from stopping the wind getting in between panels. 9 drops 2 days, pipe & slippers run.
@@markh5433 I don’t think that Luke thinks he knows it all! But every driver has his own procedure. No need to be rude to him. You can always go somewhere else. But I guess that’s competition between HGV drivers. Everyone thinks they know better. Being a fitter,I have heard many drivers criticising other drivers “In the same firm” Which I think is childish. “ I can strap down faster than him” Really ? Yawn!
Cracking video thanks Luke, it’s good to be busy and try to get ahead of yourself! I used to do it on multi drop work, you’d get a couple of hours ahead and then run into traffic or an awkward customer!☹ (Awkward customer surely not!!😂) Always made sure when I worked as workshop driver and on the forklift that I unloaded any deliveries ASAP! Keep up the good work and keep safe! 😀🚛
I've been following you for a few years, and I'm shocked you parked up in Uckfield (my local town), parking down that industrial estate is always a pain. Great video as always!
Here in Ireland I'm on concrete mixer truck and a good day is 5 load or more when there is a big pour that is going fast you chould do 10 load if everything goes right. And that's going to and from the plant and sometimes it can take up to an hour to get to the site with traffic they are bad days when traffic is Bad.
Luke, I get skin tags under my arms, just twist them if they are big enough and then they falll off, or use some dental floss and tie it off to cut the blood supply off and then they fall off after a day or 2
Hi Luke. Question...did you say you were 45 minutes from your next dropi Brighton (Asummint you did say Brighton) from where you were parked up in Uxbridge? if you're parked up in Uxbridge and have to go to Brighton then according to Google maps it's 1hour 20 mins to Brighton from tour overnight park up in Uxbridge....I'll apologise if I misheard where you were going ....LOL
Good video mate, enjoyed the last two deliveries, Canvey is where I’m from (unfortunately 😂), don’t live there anymore thankfully! And Tilbury for your next collection is where my company is based, doing container work. There you go, a bit of useless information for you 😂🤣😂
Ok. Enough is enough Nick. One more like that from you and you’ll be hidden from the comment section. Last warning. Nothing but negative posts from you.
Hi Luke,as you work for Harry's just think that when you say Harwich so it is Harry idge,we are nice people in Harwich I live there and enjoy doing so,I have only watched the first 13 mins so far but the last tip at Canvey Island should be the first ,best of luck.
Used to do multi drops with me old man absolute hated them been made to wait for a bay to be emptied far to say be dad had enough and smudged his tacho graphs and walked out
When parked in a layby overnight, where do you go for the toilet? do you have a chemical toilet onboard... or is it "bear sh*t in the woods" situation?
I go for a number 2 in advance. Like I did when I stopped at the services. I’ve never been caught short yet. I have gone 3 days before without needing to drop the kids off so to speak. But I do try to stop at services or customer toilets should I need too.
Stop telling porkies Luke your kids and misses have been picking on you not been at home enough that's caused your bruising Imao. I needed the malkolm Green book 30 years ago to late now lol. Great vid as always mate
Luke time to take your truck to DAF dealer to sort those check engine lights that are on dash. Better be safe before it turns into a red one or a new engine.
Great video me my son enjoy your channel my son who’s ten has autism loves trucks and loves your truck likes to waves to truck when it’s on screen will clap laugh it’s sensory thing
You seem to enjoy the tramping. I have driven for over 25 years and have never slept in a lorry. Did fuel tankers for majority of that time. Now do a 740k daily trunk. Still can't get away from the long hours though despite the significant increase in wages. Take care
its a wonder people delivery to B&Q at all if they gona be like that.. no reason for it at all. if you turned up early at our yard early... and dared us to lift in in one we would probably tip you then and there.... regardless of what was in the yard probably drive the fork lift to you haha.

A lot of rules is for stupid things like shift patterns or loading area access

Unfortunately Paul the yearning to get back down the road will take years to lessen if ever ( best of luck )

Oooooh Luke knows it all, I once suggested about putting a Scotch cross on a load….🤔 Oh well you can’t educate pork!

The Palletways drivers must think this title is ridiculous
When they do about 14 drops in one day
Love the videos Luke I will say it again but mate you have made be lorry driver and I will definitely be use avail to get the job i what
With skin tags, just dab with cider vinegar and eventually they fall off without leaving a mark

Perhaps a Moffat required Luke. Self tip 😂
The security guard on Canvey is the local Rent-A-Cop, He's the Canvey helmet.
You sound exactly like Daniel and Darren trains 😂
Fined if you turn up early. What a load of doodoo
I know the wood ward in Arundel, rum by a lovely family

#tunbridgewells
First time ever being so early 👀
Stubbs Corpse? Sounds Sus Luke lol
33:47 I suspected all drops were faked…you’re doing all the driving on a blue screen 🤭🤪
I can see from ABOVE your littering the countryside with plastic keyrings. Apart from that keep up the good work DJ.
Keyrings?
its a wonder people delivery to B&Q at all if they gona be like that.. no reason for it at all. if you turned up early at our yard early... and dared us to lift in in one we would probably tip you then and there.... regardless of what was in the yard probably drive the fork lift to you haha.
Skin tags can be an early sign of diabetes
It’s only on my eye where I rub it
