( I began uploading when my students could not come to classes for political crisis and my earlier videos were shot with what ever available to me ) Plus English is not my Native Language. These two reasons may lead to "you know" funny accent ! :P ... I do have plans for using a good microphone soon. Best wishes from Bangladesh.

    Thank you so much Dr. for this wonderful lecture, I am a RN from west Africa( Sierra Leone). I have never given this topic a thought until last year when my my Son's girlfriends( a magistrate) was admitted with a crisis. and since then, She had been having frequent attacks; and had been even transfused. As I am writing this to you now, She is admitted not for the crisis but due to Anemia and had received 6 units of blood.This vedio will help me greatly. Can you please help me again with the name of the drugs you mentioned at the end ? ( in Writing ) so that we can search for them in our country. Thanks and God bless you Sir.

    Thank you for taking time out of your busy productive investigative studies to enlighten our family world-wide. I was mislead to believe that any form of the anemia or trait was racially specific. I know that even though physically imposing, and it can be, it can also be lived with (Please clarify).
    I have not been diagnosed (with the trait), but two of my siblings have. It must have just skipped me. Although inherited, not all immediate family members are subjected to the acquiring it. ( Please confirm)
    We are of origin in Spaniard and African roots. Our ancestors are from Spain, Africa, and finally mixed together in the Caribbean. My brother (has trait), could not be a Navy Combat Pilot because he was subject to blackouts due to the lack of enough oxygen at high altitudes during exesive speeds. I have never been diagnosed by my PCP. Either way, I'm not worried. Should I be?
    Malaria is the progenitor of the disorder, but does it become associated with geographics, or genetics? Bottom line.
    Thank you again Professor Haque. My babies live in the Caribbean.
    I realize I am long winded, but these are my questions and no one has attacked the issue as well and learned as you have. At least to the layman.

    Do you have any papers or written forms of this? It's been really helpful in my research so far

    • @RabiulHaque
      @RabiulHaque  10 лет назад +1

      Hello, Glad to know that it was helpful. Actually I recorded most of my videos with out any scripts. (My students could not come to classes due to political crisis and that led me to uploading videos for them in the first place). I just write down the topics name on white board in advance so that I don't forget or skip any topics. I have taken the information from Pathology Text Books. They include : "de Gruchy's Clinical Haematology in Medical Practice 5th Revised Edition" , "Robbins & Cortan Pathological Basis of Disease 7th Edition" ( 8 th Edition is now available by the way ) , "Rapid Review Pathology Edward F. Goljan 3rd Edition (South East Asia Region) ", "Dacie & Lewis Practical haematology 9th Edition" etc. I highlighted texts on these books when I read them but did not make a script for my videos. I recommend you De gruchy's Clinical Hematology book and It's Chapter 7 ( Disorders of Haemoglobin Structure & Synthesis) for more information. Also I have bought a new camera ! My new videos are flicker free & of better image quality (HD) . Hope it is helpful. Pray for my country and best of luck for your researches . Best Wishes From Bangladesh ! :) - Dr. Rabiul

    Sir glutamate replacement dunno beta chain main husakta Hain ya sirf ik main hugi??

    • @RabiulHaque
      @RabiulHaque  2 года назад

      Thank you for your question. In Homozygous sickle cell anaemia (Hb SS) both beta chains have the defect and results in haemolytic anaemia, in heterozygous state (known as sickle cell trait) one beta chain has the defect while the other beta chain is normal and the person is asymptomatic. Take care and stay safe.

    what's different of pathophysiology and pathogenesis ? thanks

    • @RabiulHaque
      @RabiulHaque  10 лет назад

      Hello, Thanks for asking. The term "Pathogenesis" is derived from two Greek words : "Pathos" = suffering ( Disease ) & "Genesis" = creation . So pathogenesis means the mechanism that caused the disease. ( i.e how the patient developed the disease ).The term "Pathophysiology" means the functional changes that are "associated with" or "resulting" from disease or injury . ( i.e. what the disease is doing to the patient ) . To be honest, I included both pathogenesis & pathophysiology in this topic briefly. (eg. how sickle cell disease is developed = pathogenesis,what functional changes the disease is causing to the patient = pathophysiology . There is subtle difference between the two words but once you know the entire process : It is easy to answer both . Hope this video was helpful. Take care & stay blessed. ! Best wishes from Bangladesh :)
