In a recent interview, reformed mobster 'Sammy The Bull' Gravano, shared insights on notorious hitman, Gregory Scarpa, otherwise known as The Grim Reaper. Scarpa, allegedly responsible for over 120 hits, also earned another infamous moniker, The Mad Hatter. Gravano, having grown up in the same neighborhood as Scarpa, recalled their parallel existence in the Mafia, describing him as a dangerous man. In the interview, Gravano also revealed how Scarpa, acting as an informant, provided valuable assistance to federal authorities. In a bizarre twist, the notoriously tough hitman inadvertently contracted AIDS in an error of judgement during a blood transfusion. Gravano also recalled incidents of violence in his own clubs, demonstrating the tension that was prevalent in Mafia circles.
4:12 Vlad is corny “is it because you didn’t want to fight a war with the grim reaper” Didn’t even say Scarpa but put emphasis on the “Grim Reaper” like if he was a superhero villain
You're the corny one not taking it serious. The dude would've killed you in a heartbeat. You're a nothing nobody joe blow working man. These dudes were murderers shaking down the largest cities in the nation. Vegas was built because of them. You're not too smart. You're a random nobody. Remember that.
I only fear GOD. Could care less about being a nobody in their life, which is not the case with you. Not only do they not care about you but you’re defending them like there little princess. Kisses and hugs princess😘 @@JohnHernandez-hu3ot

@@j-fb4596 he was still just a man at the end of the day lol guy died of aids
I literally could listen to Sammy the Bull all day. This guy is like watching a movie
Vlad asking sammy if he "just didn't want any beef" with Greg is hysterical. Both of those guys were heavyweights in that life and both more then likely respected one another and neither were afraid.
Scarpa would be considered an OG to Sammy. They were not equal back then. I’m sure Sammy would agree.
Vlad the jew is always trying to get a rise out of people or create beef, it’s in his nature.
@tonywall9159 definitely. He was 20 years the senior. To sammy Greg was "Greg from the neighborhood". Respected and there would have been mutual respect more than likely.
@@tonywall9159😂😂😂 u must be a comedian 😂😂 thanks for the laugh😂😂😂

Great interview Vlad, Sammy is a walking relic from a different world we’ll never see again
This true.
Fun fact, he was also an informant. I dont say this to make any statement about his character but to offer the reminder that even the coldest killers in history have been informants. This has ALWAYS been part of the street and gang culture. But if you let these internet tough guys tell it, "Real Gangsters don't rat."
Maybe an irrelevant point here, but there does seem to be quite a fixation on the comments of this channel of how much of a rat that Sammy is/was. I mean, his whole case is public knowledge...yet it is treated like a revelation that must be reinforced, lol
There’s a lot of truth to what you say..but there are a few examples of some real heavy weights who never ratted. One being Sonny Franzcese…and the Gemini twins off the top of my head. Also Junior Persico, Albert Anastasia. There are more but you are correct..most of them can’t do that time so they rat. Back in the day things were different. There weren’t many rats before Scarpa and Sammy. So real Gangsters do life in my opinion.
Yea...
Some still follow that code, theres many mundane gang murders everywhere in which 4 or five ppl stab or shoot someone and then 1,2 or 3 get caught and dont rat on the rest and theyd be still at large.
Very true. There’s a misconception that only weak timid pussies rat when a lot of them are actually hardened stone cold killers
vlad asked sammy if scarpa had him shook hahaha
😂 I mean this is the guy who asked him if anybody ever tried to grape him in prison

I like how vlad explains to sammy who skarpa is as if sammy doesnt know 😂
It’s called exposition dummy. It’s for the viewers cause you know these are short clips that don’t provide much context. Pretty common tactic in interviews and vlad does it in all of his.
He’s really explaining for the viewer. Save way he explained the premise of the scarpa movie
Gregory Scarpa (May 8, 1928 - June 4, 1994), nicknamed the Grim Reaper and also the Mad Hatter, was an American caporegime and hitman for the Colombo crime family, as well as an informant for the FBI. During the 1970s and 80s, Scarpa was the chief enforcer and veteran hitman for Colombo boss Carmine Persico. He was sentenced to life in prison in 1993 for three murders, and died on June 4, 1994.
In the summer of 1964, according to Schiro and other sources, FBI field agents in Mississippi recruited Scarpa to help them find missing civil rights workers Andrew Goodman, James Chaney, and Michael Schwerner. The FBI was convinced the three men had been murdered, but could not find their bodies. The agents thought that Scarpa, using illegal interrogation techniques not available to agents, might succeed at gaining this information from suspects.
Once Scarpa arrived in Mississippi, local agents allegedly provided him with a gun and money to pay for information. Scarpa and an agent allegedly pistol-whipped and kidnapped Lawrence Byrd, a TV salesman and secret Klansman, from his store in Laurel and took him to Camp Shelby, a local Army base. At Shelby, Scarpa severely beat Byrd and stuck a gun barrel down his throat. Byrd finally revealed to Scarpa the location of the three men's bodies. The FBI has never officially confirmed the Scarpa story. Though not necessarily contradicting the claim of Scarpa's involvement in the matter, investigative journalist Jerry Mitchell and Illinois high school teacher Barry Bradford claimed that Mississippi highway patrolman Maynard King provided the grave locations to FBI agent Joseph Sullivan after obtaining the information from an anonymous third party.
In January 1966, Scarpa allegedly helped the FBI a second time in Mississippi on the murder case of Vernon Dahmer, killed in a fire set by the Klan. After this second trip, Scarpa and the FBI had a sharp disagreement about his reward for these services. The FBI then dropped Scarpa as a confidential informant. Source Wikipedia

I don’t think Greg was ever a Captain. I think he was only ever a soldier?
@@paradiseplayer5103did u watch the clip ur commenting on? Sammy literally says he wasn't captain but his son was, who in turn helped make him a captain 🤦🏽♂️
@@MOB_JD He didn’t say that. He says “Greg was never a captain. His son was a captain but they never made him a captain”. Dumbass.
He was an acting captain for his son. Sammy is correct that he was never a Capo-regime. Wikipedia gets a lot wrong.
Even Sammy saying Scarpa was very dangerous
But that goes without saying. All these dudes were dangerous. If you asked Greg scarface 35 years ago he would have said the same thing about Sammy. All these dudes were nobody to play with.
So?🙄 Sammy or any other heavyweight in the mafia would be foolish not to consider Scarpa dangerous just as Scarpa would be foolish not to consider Sammy dangerous🤫🙄😂 You must be a kid🖐
@@stockstock6805 you must not seen Sammy the Bull interviews. He does not give respect or compliments to everyone in that life. He actually talks a lot of disrespect to heavy hitters and down plays what they did in that life so seeing him give respect to Scarpa in that way is actually surprising.
@@elev8torguy130 he doesn’t give that respect to everyone even if they were in that life or not. Sammy mentioned they known each other their whole life so id imagine they had a good relationship even if they were from rival families.

''We're all brothers in that life'' says the man who sent 30 of his ''brothers'' to prison, some for the rest of their lives.
Damn
The fact that Vlad asked him if he let it go because he didn't want beef, shows how little Vlad understands what integrity is.
What some people don’t know is that Sammy was asked to take out Scarpa shortly before he got arrested. Sammy started meeting with Greg to figure out how he was going to get him. What Sammy didn’t know though is that Greg and his crew already knew that he was sent. So they would’ve been looking to kill each other on the day of the hit.
Source?
Greg knew immediately once sammy showed up to meet the first time lol. Sammy knew Greg would know what was up immediately. Both guys did not want to kill each other simply because there was no way it would work out for either of them. They would either be doing life behind bars or killed either due to revenge or their people would kill them to say they had nothing to do with it and were upset too. Everyone, LE and most the mafia would know they were meeting lol.
That is absolute BS. You made that up.
@@tw5139 Yeah bro, I just sat here and made the whole thing up. For no reason whatsoever. FOH. Sammy spoke on it in one of his videos.

You cant really compared Sammy and Grim Reaper. Grim was ruthless. Killing over 100 people
The man who was involved in 19 murders, admitted of killing 4 himself, put 30 people behind bars. Says in that life “we’re all brothers in that life” that’s a hella of a brotherhood.
Yo Sammy wasn’t shook by Scarpa or anyone. Just cause he’s an old man now doesn’t mean anything. Young Sammy was no one to play with. He woulda had no problem hitting Scarpa if the order came down.

It's funny because scarpa meas shoe in Italian 😂
Sammy says Greg Scarpa sr. Was not a caporegime but many sources claim he was a capo.
What happened to “taking your pinch like a man”? A rat was a rat… times long past. He dealt with rats and he turned out to be one. Much respect for Sammy because it did take balls!
He wasn’t the mad hatter that’s not his Nick name that was Albert Anastasia
Exactly! He wasn’t the mad hatter but he was a mad hatter if that makes sense.
He was also called 'The Chicken Coup Strangler' as he used to strangle people in chicken coups.
That Greg Scarpa Mississippi Burning story is completely insane.
Also probably not true. No real evidence for it.
Now you're talking semantics, what if i told you insane was working 50 hours a week in some office for 50 years at the end of which they tell you to piss off, wouldn't you consider that to be insane?
I love Gollum's new look.
Allegedly Scarpa didn’t want black blood in him so he took a different route

Hello Sammy ❤
No there was 3 people that got killed on the Mississippi burning case
Albert Anastasia was called the mad hatter
Most of this guys stories are sweetened up
Damn vlad is asking question to confirm things that happened
Pretty sure scarpa was a captain right…?
yes
No he was an acting captain for his son. He was never a captain himself. He was never a capo regime. Wikipedia is wrong again.
I waiting for mjw to say Sammy was not a gangster
3 people died down south, vlad knows nothing about preparing for an interview
“Because you didn’t want to get into a war with the Grim Reaper? “
VLAD forgot he’s talking to Sammy The Bull.
Stupid question
Please! We know he was terrified of him.
3 people got killed. Please get your facts straight!
Vlad’s interview with Scarpa’s protege Larry Mazza was a classic, he’s been on many hits.
His retelling of how he killed Nicky Black is wicked interesting.
Vlad has interviewed several frauds because he doesn’t do his research, but Larry was the real deal.
It was a classic because Vlad shut his mouth and just let Larry talk for the most part. A few of the questions Vlad asked were flat out embarrassing. It was obvious he just skimmed through Wikipedia for his "research".
@@robj2027
Agreed, Vlad is a sad excuse for an interviewer, he does zero research on his guests, which just comes across as amateurish and disrespectful.
Shawn Prez, who works for Vlad and conducts some of the interviews himself, is 1000X better.
Vlad could learn a thing or two from him, but I sincerely think Vlad is too incompetent, or just doesn’t care, to do his job correctly.
He’s a joke, and the little games he plays trying to create drama between people is just so typical of his “tribe.”
He never turned his head!
Vlad is way too loose with how he chooses his interviewees. Alot of them were associate bums who were never really even part of the mob life
Bro let people finish talking. You don’t need to show how much you know by trying to overtalk them and fill in the details that THEY lived. Okay, we know you do research or your team does research. Cool.

Vlad laughing. Disgusting.
Yeah honestly with Scarpa I buy the 120 number. He was involved for about 40 years. He was one of the main hitmen in the Colombo family which had a very violent history with plenty of wars and bosses quick to use violence. 40 years, 120 murders is 3 per year. I could see him having knowledge of or loosely being involved in 120 murders, as for murders by his own hand I'd probably guess more like 30-40. He was known for going on hits even in his later years after getting AIDS so the number, while it sounds unbelievable is actually not as unlikely as it sounds.
😂...... You never knew him as a person
Come on bruh 3 people a year 😂😂😂😂

Great film is Mississippi burning, strange they don’t show that today because it’s well acted and being a Oliver stone film if I remember correctly,it was definitely pro civil rights and didn’t glorify the clan, they should show films like that even more today because it shows how far America has changed and the effort Anglo Americans actually made,u have full control and decided to share it,that’s good is it not and the left, they definitely don’t like sharing power
