You don’t have to agree entirely with someone’s politics, view, or opinion to vote for them, no one can be 100% adhered to YOURS. Galloway is an humanitarian, which counts for a lot in this day and age. Unless the left unite behind a credible alternative like him, we’ll end up with the same old same old or even worse - Farage as PM 5yrs down the line. Black, white, gay or straight? One thing we all have in common and can unite behind is we’re working class - I have heard Galloway say this.
You must live in Cloud Cuckoo Land If you believe Galloway is 'left-wing'. I support the right of Palestinians to decide their own future, but I doubt very much, if it happens, it will be a society based on socialist principles or one that respects LGBT or women's rights.
@@marcchrysand how long have people in this country been completely free to be LGBT?? Not that long, and we have not lived the constant trauma that Palestinians have. They rely on their religion to give them strength and that means they need to live by it far more than any one else.
BRAVO! Now in May is the Workers Pride Month in Germany. It included 99,9 % of the People in the country. One Day is not enough. George Galloway is the best politician in GB. And we have Sahra Wagenknecht.
@marcchrys but only the Palestinians have the right to decide what they want. Westerners have no right to tell others how to live their lives or to govern their people.
An excellent and informative interview. Mr. Gallaway may not be to everyone’s taste, but he is by far the most committed and principled among so many aspiring leftists. I particularly admire his brutal honesty, and well earned reputation for taking the fight to the enemy. We in the ani-Labour left would do a lot worse than to support him and his party
Dangerous , shocking and offensive ? That’s a bit precious. A bit of a stretch. Mister Galloway is not any of these things in this discussion . It is wide ranging and generous and frankly the introduction is almost a betrayal of the spirit of the conversation.
Not at all. Bigoted views against women, gender and sexual minorities are dangerous, as shown by their transformation into legislation in countries with far-right governments. We’ve seen it in Uganda, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iran, and the United States (e.g. repeal of Roe v. Wade). Those are just some I can think of off the top of my head. Galloway getting things right on economics, international relations and political economy in many areas does not excuse his more reactionary views. Novara have been extremely discerning as usual.
Some may want to live in 1984 type madness. Majority of truly sane peaceful people want peace for everyone in 2024 and beyond. George Galloway stands for peace
Im a gay man, but im also an Arab. Gay men are not currently being genocided in their tens of thousands. If they were the world would rightly be screaming for it to stop. Galloway is the only man to be consistent in his loyalty to the free Palestine cause, despite gaining some fringe far right fans, unlike Russell brand he stayed the same man id vote for his party in a heart beat,
🤣🤣🤣🤣 Russell Brand -fringe far right???😂😂😂😂😂 he's more tolerant of your fringe lifestyle than the rest of society that you mistakenly think would defend it.
I am impressed Novara have taken the chance to interview GG, however, I was surprised 😮 by the trigger warning given by Aaron. And I am surprised that Aaron says he would not vote for George at the Rochdale by-election. There was no other choice on that ballot paper. Consistently, being a Scottish Nationalist, GG, and me are diametrically opposed, however, economically I would give him my vote at a general election, at the expense of the SNP.
Does that mean that you think that Scottish independence wouldn't be necessary if we had a fairer system? Or just that you prioritise more left-wing economic policies over independence? I'm asking out of curiosity, because (as someone born and raised in England, to be clear) I have always thought that independence is a liberal solution to a set of (neo)liberal problems, that won't really solve the underlying issues, whereas a movement towards socialism (or even social democracy) UK-wide would solve many problems no matter which constituent nation you live in. Personally, I'd like to see the UK change to a federal system, with an upper house giving equal representation to each constituent country, with more devolution, moving towards social democracy in the short-to-medium term.
I wasn't much of a fan of Galloway until I listened to this. Nothing offensive at all.. I feel like the intro was over the top virtue signalling or just covering your arse for fear of backlash , or something.. very weird and unnecessary.
Did you listen to the bit where he casually mentions he doesn't want his kids to know transgenders exist? And then starts to say blantant nonsensical things about what gay relationships are, that there are people teaching kids there are 67 genders (such a terf right wing crazy thing to state), found that kinda shockingly awful. He is so good in attacking lies about Gaza, but falls in this rabbithole. Changed my view of him.
I enjoy listening to George, I am amazed, as a believer in God, that both he and the interviewer have fallen for religion and especially for the absurdity of Roman Catholicism.
Struggling for rights? Are you kidding..what about LGBT rights? what about the rights of people being threatened by climate change (which he denies even is real)? What about women's rights in Muslim societies?
@@mitchverr9330 you left off the last part of my statement to make your point. In your country & culture, do gays have the same rights as everyone else? In America, they do. There are no more honest, moral and reasonable politicians than George Galloway. His statement "So degenerate is our public life" is so very true today and that also applies to devious, duplicitous interviewers.
I would for George everytime ,& totally agree with his viewpoints. I too am Catholic & concur with George as regards gender & gays. Don't know why Aaron keeps trying to contradict everything George says? Much respect Sir Galloway ❤
Absolutely superb interview, my respect and admiration for him has grown exponentially,he’s honest, principled and has integrity, unlike many of today’s pathetic political class.
Aaron, this is the first time I have been disappointed with Novara. I don't agree with many of George's positions, but that is the problem with the Left, we are divided. Many of the issues are identity politics that have divided and distracted us on the Left. They have also discredited the Left for many common people that don't see things the same way, leading them to more reactionary politics. The Left needs to focus on gaining political impetus again, not bickering over identity issues. We can worry about those things once sanity has power over greed again.
George has every right to believe what he believes. His views are not unique to him. That's how a society works. Differences of opinion should be able to co-exist in the same space, but no one has a right to impose their ideas on others.
That goes for every one of his views on Israel and Palestine. The hope is that he represents your beliefs, he just doesn't on LGBTQ issues for many of us, which is what we're voicing.
Learning about how existing things actually work is not oppression of perversion or imposing ideas, George does not like sex education, because he doesn't understand it, he doesn't understand drugs or alcohol because he was never educated on it, that's why he laughably believes in prohibition. You think gang problems are a thing now??😂😂 just ban alcohol and see how powerful they become
@CurtainRod I believe and support your right to express your point of view, regardless of whether I agree with them or not. I prefer to engage with people on common ground rather than argue over differences. However, I'm always up for healthy debate on opposing views. The opportunity to learn is usually present. I do not personally share "all" the views of this channels contributors, but I very much enjoy the content. I imagine this community is quite diverse in thought.

I think racism is used to explain far too much lately but I totally agree with George on it being the main reason for European attitudes on Palestine. When I have challenged people in the past as to why they support Israeli actions I always get the same responses, low level racism and Islamophobia.
I think that you're completely wrong. Most people that are racist against Muslims are racist against Jews too, particularly Israeli Jews. Most support for Israel comes from tribalism, and the idea that "the left supports Palestine, therefore I should take the other side".
@@PM-jl4zdexactly this, I often think he skirts around issues because he doesn't want to get on the wrong side of Sarkar and Jones and their band of merry trolls. I'm not Galloway's biggest fan but I think I can find enough on his stances to lend him my vote to push labour to where it should be.
Agreed, Aaron Bastani had the chance to push back at George Galloway in the interview with the things he disagreed with. But in real time he wasn't able to do that because Mr Galloway's debating skills are far and away above Mr Bastani's level. The monologue is an admission that he is was well out of his league.
Unnecessary, underhanded and unfair monologue at the start, very disappointing. Regardless of my opinion of Galloway, my level of respect for, and trust in, Novara Media has been permanently diminished.
It seems like an assassination of GG's character before it's even begun, instead of just airing it and then doing a review of the interview afterwards with other members of NM. Strange. It's almost as if NM was forced to do it.
It’s funny how Aaron put a bunch of caveats at the beginning of the show about how unpalatable Galloways views were on gay and trans issues. Then it turns out that his views are pretty ordinary. Maybe it’s Aaron’s opinions that should have a health warning attached?
I would not say it's ordinary to view gay people as inferior, and be so passionately opposed to teaching children that actually gay people are equals, not inferiors! Plus Galloway flat out lied when he denied saying that, 5 minutes after he said it! Or if that is ordinary, then it's still downright disgusting. And entirely worthy of criticism.
@@justinsenryu7308it was very unclear what his views were exactly on homosexuality, but the word you used “inferior” was not one that he used. So it’s your interpretation of his views that disgusts you?!
Interesting to see what people choose they can tolerate and what they can’t. If someone is sexist and homophobic then its somehow tolerable, but if they support NATO then this is totally absolutely not tolerable. Your choices reveal a lot about your actual worldview. I've been an admirer of George for well over a decade now, and I'm yet to hear him voice a position that I really disagree with in a strong or meaningful way. Would that there were more Politicians with the intelligence, communication skills, truthfulness, sense of personal integrity and commitment that Mr. Galloway expressed throughout this interview.
thanx for this interview and specially for the intro on the beginning. You have shown your face quite clearly Bastani. Amen to Galloway and this is the last time I watch something here.
There was nothing dangerous or upsetting with George Galloways views in this interview. You are attempting to cancel him... George Galloway speaks for many.
How the heck are they attempting to cancel him ffs. They interviewed him and then broadcast it. Heck, Bastani would have Galloway’s party in power over any right wing party, and most probably Starmer’s Labour. The intro was pretty normal, and was probably aimed at the novara media’s gay and transgender viewers as a heads-up.
Oh he speaks for many except the LGBTQ? Cool, cool I guess I shouldn't be surprised terf island is taking whatever it can get. It is disappointing though.
The trigger warning at the beginning of the video painted a completely different picture to the content of the interview itself. I don't always agree with Novara Media's stance on issues, and this is one of those. Galloway made his views very clear, articulated his points well, and comes across as one of the very few honest and principled MPs out there. Whether you agree with him or not on minor points of a wide ranging interview, there was nothing there that justified the tone of the introduction. I would expect that from the BBC. Not from Novara. EDIT: I should add, it's a great interview. I hope all this exposure has lead to more people watching it.
This seemed enough like a cosy chat until I discovered later that despite assurances to the contrary, Bastani released a clip of the interview the day before the local government election, just to try to smear Galloway. That isn't journalism, it's deceitful campaigning.
Wow! I was already disappointed with the strange retrospective monologue at the beginning. I didn't know about the timing of the clip. Now it seems like NM have gone full on machiavellian, just like the rest of them. Unsubscribing.

Is George Galloway's accusation true that Novara Media released clips from this interview prior to the council elections, after agreeing explicitly with him beforehand that they wouldn't ? I'm asking because I would like to be sure about NM's integrity.
Aaron keeps going on about LGBTQ issues and it’s extremely frustrating. I agree with George here and I don’t see what he’s said that’s so controversial
There was nothing controversial there. It’s amazing how some people believe in science when comes to Covid but throw it out the door when it comes to LGBTQ
❤GG. And I hope the Working Party is not only able to block Labor wins but is victorious . We need to stop these corporate elite corrupt racist uni parties in the so called democracies
That's funny. I don't really like the way Bastani comes across, so I don't often watch NM. But I think his monologue here was completely warranted, and I agree with him on the counter points he made in response to GG.
As someone else has said, Aaron is "playing to the gallery". Actually, this is a big problem for the Left. Novara is one of our best outlets. But, because the funding model is via subscription, it means that they cannot afford to offend their viewers. This will lead to self-lobotomization if we're not careful.
When people interview people with contentious views they are often criticised for, "giving them a platform." If, however, the interviewer, "pushes back," viewers might cut them some slack. I think that on reflection, Bastani felt that he hadn't pushed back enough to avoid being criticised so he sought to cover his tracks by saying, beforehand, that he deplored Galloway's views. In a more mature society, hearing what people have to say - without feeling the need to oppose views merely so that people do not view you, the interviewer, as having fascilitated them - would be the norm because it is the only way to have honest, and informed, debate.
Rishi Sunak going out onto the street to make a speech after George was elected, shows what a threat he is perceived to be by the current establishment, go George!
Galloway is a man with integrity. Despite his personal opinions, he supports the rights of LGBT+ communities, which I don’t even understand why is a political issue. It’s your given right to your sexual preferences… “LGBT+” communities have existed for centuries… Morality is not subjective, it’s not an opinion nor idealistic… it has to do with rights, justice, practicable facts and reality.
@rowan4352 Pls see my comment, the problem most ppl have with LGBT+ lobby is their sense of entitlement and desire to take rights away from others. Those with a sense of equality and respect for others rights are loved by right wingers, and they are often called right wing themselves. The issue is equality & respecting others boundaries of so called "right wing" LGBT Peoppe VS angry entitlement & arrogance of LGBT lobby that gave horrific disasters like Travistock and young people experiencing the horror of regret after their genitals were removed, or other body modifications.

Fascinating isnt it that the people most vocal about wanting their country back cant see the point of view of the Palestinians.
It isn't the main factor. It's guilt over the holocaust driving support for Israel.
I think that you're completely wrong. Most people that are racist against Muslims are racist against Jews too, particularly Israeli Jews.

When people interview people with contentious views they are often criticised for, "giving them a platform." If, however, the interviewer, "pushes back," viewers might cut them some slack. In a more mature society, hearing what people have to say - without feeling the need to oppose views merely so that people do not view you, the interviewer, as having fascilitated them - would be the norm because it is the only way to have honest, and informed, debate.

Do you condemn the Arabs for attacking Israel a sovereign country in 1967 which led to the six day war? Do you believe that there should be no intervention by any country in the affairs of a country even if the population is hell bent on wiping out another section of its own or neighbouring countries population?
@@richardhead3062 Assumed extrapolation from a simple answer, is at best naive and at worst disingenuous. I will leave it at that.
On the major issues like war crimes, imperialism & foreign policy Galloway is 2nd to none. Therefore he still is the best Parliamentarian by far.
Climate change & human rights not major issues then?
@@redflag4781regarding human rights, are Palestinians humans?

@@knuckles543 GG voted for it. Try to keep up.
Not so much when the war crimes are committed by his buddies Asad, Saddam and Putin
Galloway was brilliant.
Didn't stand a man ,but now I am changing my mind.Very good interviev and brave and clear talking.
Seems like NM were not completely shooting straight in regards to this interview. Mr Galloway is claiming agreements were broken despite him forgiving what he felt was an earlier transgression and giving you this interview. I enjoy the content here, but if your ethics are compromised, then that would make you no different than MSM. Do you refute these claims?
The Novara organisation sends its alleged journalists out to all the MSM panel shows - they are one in the same.
Well done Mr Galloway. Always on the right side of history god bless you ❤
Not always he thinks Ireland should unite even though 70% of people here in the North don't want it and he is definitely wrong to stick his nose into gaza probably trying to garner the muzlim vote...
What on earth was offensive about Galloway's views? His position on the trans issue is entirely conventional and held by the vast majority of UK citizens.
I agree. I ask people whenever the opportunity presents itself, and I have heard nobody support the unscientific position that a man can become a woman and vice versa.
your wrong according to poll pretty much everyone in the uk has a live and let live attitude
Do you have evidence to back that up?
You coloured the introduction to this interview with heavy bias. Obviously it's your channel and you're entitled to do so. But I would rather you'd have let the viewers decide what they think of his beliefs for themselves.
💯
um Georgy is objectively wrong on social issues, science and even bible history
Go on George! George Galloway for Prime Minister!
Blair should be in prison for war crimes.
At least George is truthful and not sly, two faced or sneaky.
He's an honest man
@@temptemp4174 ahahahahahaha
unlike NM
@franwilby1254 That’s the best joke I have heard all day. He is exactly what you say he isn’t. Ask yourself why he travels around the country looking for constituencies with large Muslim populations? Then ask people in those constituencies where he was previously elected what they think of him and why he wasn’t re elected? He is a chancer and a charlatan a bit like Boris Johnson.
Good one!😂😂@@temptemp4174
Saw the analysis of this interview on the not the Andrew marr show and was shocked to find out how Novara Media was so complicit in hounding Labour MP’s for alleged “antisemitism”.
Yes, I was disappointed to hear this. I unsubbed based on both this and the unnecessary introduction to this video by Aaron
The left needs a united front. This sneaky jab they are taking at him... Yes, Shocked is the word.
Cancelled my subscription. He has to mature in his thoughts and present intelligently and let people make opinions according to their intelligence and knowledge . Respect to all.
The interview just reinforced I'm voting for Mr Galloway
I think you'd be surprised with how many people resonate with Galloway's views.
Also, a Bennite party sounds very intriguing indeed.
I love this man. I dearly hope he wins many seats in the GE. We need a proper opposition. I don't agree with everything he says, but I do agree with some of it. I also think he's right about Corbyn. He's a decent man, but he didn't look like a prime minister. PMs have got to look the part, like it or not. Galloway does dress the part. Corbyn did not.
