I truly appreciate the clarity of your message
1) add fiber to the meal 🥘 you are having such as brown rice 🍚 instead of too much white rice 🍙. Add soluble fiber to your diet such as flaxseed and chia seed.
2) exercise and be active after a meal such as go for a walk. You increase your insulin sensitivity.
3) eating 🍽️ lower glycemic index foods instead of simple sugars that break down very quickly. Low GI foods are a score of 55 or less.
I understood all of this except the chemistry 🧪 at the end.
Thanks for the quick summary. Can now skip the video. I always serch for such summaries.

Great video for sure! Thank you Scott!
You bet!
Thank you
I’m doing good bringing my sugar down. But I’m really going to make exercise a necessity to get to my numbers within a normal range. I have been fasting 16/8 and eating very little carbs and no sugar which bought my numbers from 11.1 to 6.4 in a few months. You made your advice on exercise so doable I know I will definitely have to make it a part of my routine in order to get rid of Metformin. Thanks. This is the first time I saw your channel. I will subscribe. I like your delivery and your advice.
Really great tips
Thank you!
Excellent
Thank you so much 😀
Best for me is ride my bike for 5 miles and walk for 2 miles after eating...have been off metformin for 4 years now.
I’ve started walking couple of miles after meal
@@skyisnolimit9720 , that's great keep it up..
For every meal? Or once per day?
@@Maplelynx , none..no more metformin
@@RacerX1971 I mean exercise frequency
Very helpful video! Greetings from Japan
Thank you!
Oh! thank you! I was told this but was not sure if this was right about the fiber! so now this information is great. I was wondering if I can use ground chia powder instead of chia seeds I have trouble with the seeds getting in to the small intestine very painful. so I use chia powder Is that ok for the fiber. I also use flax seed powder Thank you for this great video.🥇
How about Retrogradation ? Pls advice ❤
This helped me so much I did some blood work dr told pre-diabetes I'm doing everything I can prevent diabetes
That makes me so happy to hear! Thank you so much!! If you ever have any questions feel free to shoot me an email. Take care and best of luck.
Great 1st hand content. New sub! I’m a 51yo male T1 (T1.5-diagnosed at 30yo, pump therapy w/ G6) normal BMI, A1c 7.2-7.6, otherwise healthy. I have an amazing Endo in Knoxville TN (Casey Page) so adding your non anecdotal knowledge and evidence is a tremendous benefit. Thanks for the work you’re doing on this channel and good luck on your way to your 1st million subs!
PS I’m surprised you didn’t mention effects of protein, however, that’s not nearly as easy as adding a quick bit of soluble fiber that most Americans probably need more of in their diet anyway. Keep up the good work. I’m excited to see your next upload. My personal problem is that I have no decent infusion sites left as the subQ areas around my midsection are somewhat scared/ atrophied. I’ve tried different infusion sets/ depths/ types etc (Medtronic) but am thinking I may have to go back to multiple daily injections!? At least for awhile until I gain some sensitivity and heal or reverse subQ atrophy? Maybe a good topic for upcoming video? Thanks again so much and God bless you and your work!
Thank you so much! Scar tissue can be a huge problem, sorry to hear you're dealing with that. Have you used up all available areas, some people forget about the flanks and lower back, just some additional real estate to throw the infusion set into. Definitely a good idea for a future video, thanks again!
Great video. Was told that I’m pre diabetic, so I’m now looking for preventive measures.
Thank you and best of luck!
@@diabetesdailydigest Thank you!
Dear sir, Blood spike or blood sugar
How time long it stays in the blood is harmful ?
Hi Scott. I have typed 2 diabetes but I am "underweight". I there a protein powder that will help me gain weight? Your reply is greatly appreciated.
QUESTION: How soon after a meal should you exercise?
Just loving you till I found a few days back you
Thank you so much!
BRAVO/////❤❤❤❤❤❤
I was diagnosed last week lots of bodyfat, lots of sugar in the bloodstream, not able to get into cells, on Glucophage XR 1000mg (readings average between 12 -15). Looking for advice to keep it down.
Cut carbohydrates down to 50 g per day, even bread goes to sugar, allow yourself 1 slice wholemeal bread per day, things to eat that have very little carbs is cheese, meat, cottage cheese, eggs, all proteins if in there original state are either free of carbs or low carbs.
Eat a vegan low-calorie diet (add chia, flax), snack on almonds soaked 8hrs in water and peeled; exercise after every meal, do 30 min of aerobic and weight training on alternate days; sleep 7-8 hours, reduce stress with meditation and pranayama breathing.
Hi good advice, I don't know if it helps. But my daughter eats sausage and bacon to try to slow the spike and sustain healthy blood sugar for a longer amount of time.
Thank you for sharing! That's definitely another good tip as fat/protein like in bacon/sausage is another way to slow digestion and minimize the post meal spike.
Meat slows down spike and relatively no glycemic index
Can i ear alread hydrated (gelled up) chia seeds or do i need to eat dry seed so that they gel up after i eat them ?
For chia seeds and flex seeds, I believe that you need to pre-soak them in soy milk or some low sugar liquid (like overnight) unless you use the powder form.
I would like to know how to combine Quinoa, lentils, beans to control my blood sugar. Thank you!,,
Quinoa salad mixed with beans or lentils with veggies sauce and animal protein can help.😊
Quick question. If I have had a low GI diet throughout the day and soluble fiber, but then get a low blood sugar, doesn't that make the low more difficult to treat efficiently?
In theory it may seem that way, but from my own personal experience, if you introduce a high glycemic index drink like juice or regular soda when running low, it gets absorbed just as quickly and the glucose levels should rebound rapidly.
Taking Apple Cider Vinegar before meal if that helps lower the spike.
Get out and walk, climb stairs..movement is medicine.
But if we exercise right after eating, would it not slow the process down the blood flow needed for proper digestion?? I have heard that it is not advisable to exercise right after eating. Can anyone suggest as to what is true
I do exercise in evening hours, about an hour after a small meal and insulin injection. And keeping 3-4 dates if it gets hypoglycemic, but I have to say this didn't happen yet to me.
At least after half an hour you can brisk walk.
In what pattern are we supposed to check our blood glucose level. Immediately after meal or 2 or 3 hours after meal even if exercise immediately after meal? Thank you!
Also should blood glucose levels should back to normal range(70-99) 2 to 3 hours after meal. I will really appreciate your response. Thank you!
Right before you eat then at the 30 minutes after,1 hour and 2 hour after meal to see how the meal effects you blood sugar
Yes they should go back to normal after 2 hours or atleast start dropping
Do you have a video on all the added sugars that are put in our food that isn’t noted as sugars? I literally have to add twice as much insulin on foods that have malodextrin or dextrose. It’s sad we aren’t protected from these most people have no clue their really eating more sugar than what is on the label.
Thats so true, we have to be so careful and really investigate all the foods we eat to look out for things like that. Really good idea for a future video, thank you!
Just look at the carbohydrates, that number goes straight to sugar, keep them to less than 50g for the day.
Don’t you find yourself in a low after exercising if you gave yourself insulin for your meal?
What I found helped was decreasing the dose I’d give for that meal. Sometimes I’d only give 50% what I normally would for the meal if I knew I would be exercising soon after to prevent lows. Definitely seems to help.
Lots of research available now that shows oats can spike blood sugar alarmingly in many people... people need continuous glucose monitors to see how foods affect them individually so need to care about giving generic advice
I go hypoglycemic when I eat oats. The glucometer now tells me what to eat.
I ate 10 Oreos. Oops. Gotta do something fast 😅
Haha oh no! 🫣
Interesting… What was your blood glucose 1 hr later. Did you exercise after ?
@@getsmartpaul I don’t have anything to track it but I did exercise to be sure to use it up and felt fine. I do feel icky if I get too much sugar. I swear I can feel my blood sugar rise.
@@V.Hansen. ok, when I was young I did the same all the time and then went out to play basketball 🏀 or Tennis 🎾 or running 🏃♀️ to work it off.
Enabling T2 to keep eating glucose forming food. Old dumb advice... do Keto
Agree with exercise. Exercise also pulls down cortisol if you're not regulating stress well enough
Thank you for the feedback
@@diabetesdailydigest I just started a new hack. With a unit like a glucose tester but it’s for Uric Acid. Trying to get others to share their data to see if a bigger driver is uric acid given the number of side effects arise from higher Uric Acid
i don't know why but the background of this video was a bit eerie which was giving me some uneasiness while watching...
Why the hell would you eat any kind of rice? You numbers will go sky high!!!
LOW GI FOOD////

Omg what is wrong with you people WHAT TO DO AFTER A SPIKE, NOT TO PREVENT THEM. YOUR SUPPOSED TO BE EDUCATED. ask me what time I go to bed. My answer is yellow. Do you see how annoying these click bait videos are. How to bring down blood sugar spikes after a meal…..don’t eat anything…..aargh.
