The song is called "Ready, Go!" and was only made in Japanese, but there are English translated lyrics online!

Thanks that windy valley theme has been in my head for a long time. I remember playing it when I was really young and could just not for the life of me remember what game it was from. Case closed nearly 20 years later.
I heard the first second of twinkle park, and immediately thought "that's panic puppet if I ever heard it!" and I got excited because I love panic puppet
If you replay the Genesis episodes, you'll notice that usually only the first zone of each game was really entirely about speed (and even then, that's only totally true for Sonic 1 and 2). Later zones always tended to be more about platforming and a bit more "chill". Think Marble Zone in Sonic 1 and how you had to stop to push blocks or stand on them while they moved slowly across lava). So yeah, Sonic was kinda about speed but not entirely either.

I noticed a more recent example, in Sonic Lost world the part in that jungle where you had to run nonstop throughout the stage, the music sounds similar to the Empire City music of Sonic Unleashed.
Love this song. I remember when a friend first told me that the theme for Lost Impact on Shadow the Hedgehog was the theme for Panic Puppet: Act 1 for Sonic 3D Blast on the Sega Saturn/PC and I thought he was kidding until I heard it myself. Most people think that's lazy but, in my opinion, it keeps nostalgia going AND Kirby, Super Mario and Final Fantasy games do it all the time.
I've just recently found out that Sonic Heroes' Final Fortress theme is recycled from Sonic 3D Blast's Volcano Valley theme. It's kind of funny knowing I've owned both games for years and didn't notice until someone pointed it out. XD

"Sonic 3D Blast" is such an underrated and underappreciated game that has some of the best music on the Genesis for sure...
It seems a few of the features in Sonic Adventure were "recycled" for Wave Coast in Sonic '06

I noticed a more recent example, in Sonic Lost world the part in that jungle where you had to run nonstop throughout the stage, the music sounds similar to the Empire City music of Sonic Unleashed.
Love this song. I remember when a friend first told me that the theme for Lost Impact on Shadow the Hedgehog was the theme for Panic Puppet: Act 1 for Sonic 3D Blast on the Sega Saturn/PC and I thought he was kidding until I heard it myself. Most people think that's lazy but, in my opinion, it keeps nostalgia going AND Kirby, Super Mario and Final Fantasy games do it all the time.

I've just recently found out that Sonic Heroes' Final Fortress theme is recycled from Sonic 3D Blast's Volcano Valley theme. It's kind of funny knowing I've owned both games for years and didn't notice until someone pointed it out. XD
Twinkle Park and Opening to 3d Blast were the first one I noticed when I was younger. And they're still excellent tracks

Glad you didn't include Dreams of an Absolution from Sonic 06 for sounding like Green Hill in the pre-chrous, because I'm almost certain I read that was completely unintentional when they composed the track.
