I want one so bad. The fact that you can row through gears and not be going 180 mph is a bonus for me. Just want something that is quick and sounds awesome.

@@pantheranegra2261 0-60 in 6 seconds is fine for me. But yeah, comparing it to modern cars it's definitely not fast.
My grandfather bought my grandmother a 2001 Cobra not long after I was born it was white with the tan interior with a tan convertible top, it was eventually passed down to my mother and the fun I had in that car cant be matched to this day, I really think that was the turning point where I started to become a car guy. Unfortunately my mom had to sell it due to financial issues. Ill have that car back one day! Thank yall so much for bringing back those wonderful memories with this video!

Makes me miss my '97 I had about 20 years ago so much, it wasn't exactly the same but was quite similar. Not the fastest thing on the road but an absolute hoot to drive. Thank you for sharing!
Love this setup been running it for a few years, went and done Longtubes but didnt expect it to get so much louder and its chaotically loud but in a good way of course.

I so want a New Edge GT as my daily just a Cai, and exhaust.. but I never like the enormous headlights, and the Interior look.. for the Interior I can pass just would swap the stock steering wheel, for an early S197 steering wheel, and just add in cosmetic add ons to make it look bad ass... that will definitely eliminate the outdated OE look.
Honestly it was surprisingly enjoyable. And not having that High HP with that solid axle was some what of a relief with some turns. The styling is outdated sure but what car from 2002 isnt? xD

Having a S197 and a New Edge I can confidently say the 2005-2010 steering wheel is dookie. New edge looks so much better
Does it have a catless or catted X-pipe? Getting myself a 2v soon and would like to get this sound.
This was high flow cats, hard to find catless x pipe with the EPA restrictions now. Bassani makes a high flow cat x pipe which is what is on mine.
LAR sells off road x-pipe still $350 very good quality, doesn’t sacrifice ground clearance like the old BBK.

It was an option from factory. It doesn't hold much, it won't even hold sunglasses lol

slow. nice cars but so slow just like the 96 saleen i had. loved the car but the performance was not up to par. even for its time

@@Boatanchorperformance if your budget is 10 to 20 and you like the look go for a S281. but imo save money and buy the GT. if money isn't a factor and this is a style you like, get the S351. you're gonna spend too much money on a 4.6 s281 just to get barely 300 hp. performance parts are much more expensive for this model. get a new edge with 45 more hp instead. or better yet get a F body with 275hp
@@starrdogchamp1 I got a new edge that I plan on rebuilding the 4.6 and putting forged internals in. Once I’m done with that I’m going S/C. I agree, the S281’s only had 5 more hp than the GT’s, money is better spent on the supercharged new edge Saleens. I would love to have a ‘99 S351 but there’s not too many of those around.
@@Boatanchorperformance you know, even though my 96 saleen was a slowleen and i sold it back in march. i miss looking at it, just about everything took me out on the street. lol.
I always hated the interior of those Mustang,s, they just look so cheap and plasticky, but it does sound amazing guys, Drive safe.
Most vehicles from the 90’s through the 00’s had that cheap plastic interior, there was no running from it unless you drove a luxury vehicle (even some of those had cheap interiors lol)
