Before all of this friends, if you are sampling things you didn't make from scratch you gotta cover your back first. You cant monetize shit you don't own. It's not our job as Producers to get permission to use the samples its the Artists or Client. Make sure in your contracts your client takes on that responsibility. It's only a matter of time before someone tries to sue you if you do this long enough. Make sure you use a sampling indemnification and a mechanical license indemnification in your contracts. ALSO : Go find the dopest hotel in your area and apply for their AV department. If you can plug in an xbox you can do that job and they usually pay well. Saved my ass before I was good enough to demand a fee.
True but then depends how recognisable the sound is vs what it was originally. As a experiment I used some samples taken from My uncle's music and made beats with those, then I mixed those with beats made without his samples and asked him to check them out and He could not recognize his own music within My tracks until I pointed it out. I'd say how recognisable is the sample before worrying to much. I don't sample other peoples music that often.
Wow! I asked the universe “How else can i evolve this beat making thing?” And here this video pops up in the perfect time! You definitely just put me on game! Cant wait to rock these ideas out! Thank you! Subbed 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Yo Heat thank you my man. Bless ya. How can I find last beat played in this video? My god this is amazing I would like to listen it on repeat forever on god
Two questions Heat.. 1.) The two beat tapes you released through DistroKid did they contain samples? 2.) Did the beats you content id'd, did they contain samples?
i know im a bit late on this video, i searched for how to make money from sample beats. all of this is good information but something im left wondering about is copyrights on the sample youve used for the beat, how do i go about clearing those?
Those that say that sample bassed producers dont make money are ignorant of how stock music production works. You can sell a full 3 minute beat for say $4 but you can also sell just cuts or sound elements from that same beat, maby take out the stems and sell cuts from that. I make most of My own samples these days. Main reason for making My own is just easy to do, and so many different ways to produce sound but not always easy to record live within a DAW. I'll use a phone app, or a keyboard or a plugin and just record Me play randomly for a cupple hours then liston back and then chop out good bits to sample.
Thanks alot man, definetly subbing after the gems you dropped in this vid. Do you have any other vids on Copyrighting your beats, ensuring leases and/or content ID?
Great video Heat!! Super informative, THANK YOU!!! Did you say ass camp though? I think I'll give that one a wide birth!!! Lol!!!! Only playin... Salute fam!! Keep up the dope work you are doing here! Bless.
The main question I have about sampled beats is whether you can post sampled beats on ig, or stream on spotify without them getting taken down or a copyright strike
HI..I'M a sampled based producer..Many call me a legend pay no attention to the page this is my s..t talk page..But HI i'm super producer DRUGS BEATS...I have produced for dr dre...kendrick lamar..marsha ambrose..Ludacris ....50 cent...Lloyd banks...Tony yayo...big boi of outkast and so many more..I purchased a house in the hills of LA off of sample based beats and is still going strong. Most of these people have no real understanding on how this works i heard some one say if u sample u dont receive publishing...HE'S LYING TO YOU...You wrote music as well with YOUR snare YOUR hi hat and YOUR kick drum...That makes u a writer as well...
@@theycallmeheat thanks for aswer me man, i made my request at Adrev, now im waiting, i saw that Beatstars we need to pay for every beat, so its expensive for me yet
Absolutely!! Arcade does this in plugin form. But not everyone wants to pay that subscription fee. So if you have packs for sale for like 25/30 bucks people will buy it up.
Use a site like gumroad, shopify or wordpress. Find a file hosting site for your kits, then post them for sale. I can go more in depth on this whole process on a 1on1 consultation. Connect with me over at boombapuniversity.com
Well you will have to find some very direct ways to make money from your music. They go get your money for you. Cause you have no idea how many publishers are out that collect money for you. They essentially do the work FOR you after you’ve released music into the world digitally
I didn't say anything about monetizing in the title. so you came looking for the wrong thing. I gave many ways to make money as a PRODUCER. which is more than just selling beats online.

Make connections! What can you offer to your superiors…??
What about the legality of using samples in your music? How do you handle that?
I can make the grafic design for plugins.
Cool. Go make some money!! Companies need graphic designers everyday

I don’t think this answers the title of the video/question at all, it’s a informative to get one started selling online though
Thanks alot man, definetly subbing after the gems you dropped in this vid. Do you have any other vids on Copyrighting your beats, ensuring leases and/or content ID?
Not on my channel. But Beatstars and DJ Pain 1 have so much good info on that type of stuff. Thanks for tuning in fam.

The main question I have about sampled beats is whether you can post sampled beats on ig, or stream on spotify without them getting taken down or a copyright strike
You can I have a few tracks with samples stuff it's fine. It's all good unless you are Kanye west and making thousands
Just chop it wisely.
I chop my beats pretty good and they always get taken down by united masters. Not even taken down but they just dont distribute it out to spotify
@@juliandesoto3102 Probably because you call the beat a name with the artist in it.
If I use a sample and register the song with RUclips’s content ID and it generates views. They won’t pay it out because I don’t own the sample?

man, i cant use the identifyy cause always says that its in review by adm, there is other way to ou site to use? Thanks for the content !!
Adrev is another good one. But Beatstars has a content ID service as well

Does Beat Stars Publishing count as PRO?
Would you suggest creating an LLC for music before doing these?
Not necessarily. It is needed, but you can get going then get the LLC later. But having the business in order early helps so much in the long run
What if I make nice melodic hooks without drums/beats? Do you think I’d still be able to license them as loops?
Absolutely!! Arcade does this in plugin form. But not everyone wants to pay that subscription fee. So if you have packs for sale for like 25/30 bucks people will buy it up.

whoever buys the beats and uses it has to worry about that.
