Earlier today checked with my local hobby store. No more orders can be made as of Yesterday. All orders before then were being filled. They just got in a large shipment. other stores are doing the same. So far the do not know if it also applies to the spray primers. Also the bottled paints are not fully bilingual labeled, so that will probable be the next ban. Anyhow picked up some cans of primer. I use the airbrush for full painting and base coats.
@@kudukilla - I'm not sure, but I think the first Chick-Fil-a in Canada is being built here in Burlington. I could be wrong but I've never heard of or seen one up here yet.
Well, as someone who has used many cans to paint an electric bass in Tamiya metallic blue, I can state that the solvent is really nasty. I have heard that they are lacquers, and as such would be thinned with lacquer thinner (which has been off the shelf for years in Canada afaik).
I'm a Canadian professional model maker and I often build Star Wars TIE fighters for clients. Tamiya TS-32 is a perfect match for the main colour. I guess I'm screwed now.

Something similar happened with TESTORS ( Model Master Military) paints. Taken off the shelves fairly recently. They claimed it was due to pressure from California's EPA regarding " noxious" chemicals that were linked to cancer. M.M. paints were reported to have been bought out by ' Rustoleum' YET,many of those same colors UNCHANGED paints became avatar in large rattle cans. Go figure! Bring back Model Master, Floquil, Pactra paints and Tenax 7-R glue!
Rustoleum owned several brands of model paints, including Testors, Testors Model Master, Pactra, Floquil, PolyScale, and Polly S. From what I remember when I was still working at a hobby shop on Long Island was that Rustoleum felt that the hobby paints didn't make enough "return on investment" to warrant keeping them in business.
Rustoleum spraypaint is quite different from Testors spraypaint. After several tries, I cannot get Rustoleum paint to work on styrene. Major failures. Testors and Tamiya paints work fine. 🤔
And what I don't get is that the 1/4oz Testors enamels are still being sold at Hobby Lobby and Michael's here in Texas at least. I'll bet that they are the same formula as Model Master. Before Model Master existed I often mixed custom camouflage colors using Testors enamels. If they weren't so damn expensive I could do that again. Actually I have a stash of hundreds unopened Model Master paints that may be bad by the time I try to use them.
Actually back bacon. And when it is rolled in cornmeal we call it peameal bacon. As a Canadian I can vouch that McDonalds' coffee and breakfast sandwiches are far superior to Timmies.

Visited my favourite hobby store yesterday located in Waterloo Ontario which is here in the once Great White North. It’s a much more serious issue as our wonderful government has also classified plastic as a hazardous substance in all forms. The true ramifications are just starting to roll out with complex regulations pertaining to authorization specific to labelling handling and storage of plastic materials starting to show up. This is just the beginning and soon I expect there will be special requirements for the labelling of model kits and so many other commercially available plastic products, I poo you not! Good thing I live only an hour from Buffalo NY…..
So Occam's razor says that when something doesn't make any sense that oftentimes the most simplest explanation is the correct one!!!! So it is obvious to me Tamiya refused to either change the labeling on their product did not want to pay exorbitant excise taxes or tariffs in order to sell their product in Canada so the Canadian government responded by Banning their product plain and simple!!!! this happens all the time by the way I find it impossible to believe that a product that is sold in California one of the strictest most environmentally protective state in the country possibly in the entire world and yet somehow would not be allowed to be sold in Canada I am sure that after negotiations of either the tariffs or taxes or restructuring of the labeling they will be allowed to sell their paints once again in Canada😂😂😂😂
Well, everybody knows that Rust-oleum and Krylon are very healthy, unlike Tamiya, I even used them to re-paint my teeth bright white. It's like the plastic bags, the ones that are wrapping all the products in the store are made from natural plastic, from trees as our is made from nasty, disgusting plastic, that's why we have to buy them and this money probably goes to a non-profit organization...👋🏻
Finally! A recorded confession on the Bomarc! As I'm an airbrush guy this won't impact me at all, but as it so happens I was a local model show here yesterday and a number of vendors had their Tamiya cans for sale. I joked with a bunch of them how they would be doing brisk business on those that day, but when I left after a few hours those cans were pretty much all still available. And the vendors weren't gouging either. (RIP Roddy!) PS. I am a Federal Government employee but then again this is Ottawa and half the city are 'federales'.

Is this similar to the ban they had in jolly ole UK a couple years ago with the tinned paints? Humbrol, Sovereign, etc. I'm sure the ingredient, is a small amount and not much of a concern to responsible adult consumers. Just odd, really.
Max is a native Florida boy but I heard that he does drink a lot of Tim Horton's coffee. (Canadian modellers send it to him) Back in my childhood here in the US my parents had no apparent worries about the paint or glue I used. My mom worked in a "five and dime" store that sold models and glue and paint. When a local hobby shop started selling Humbrol enamels in the tins I considered them superior. A little more expensive than Testors and Pactra paints. They had a unique "aroma" too!
