One thing I dislike on the digital gauge cluster, is the slow updating gear indicator. I mean, you don't need it in a manual car, you know yourself which gear you are in at the specific moment. But man, does that take a long time to update it after the shift has happened.
My Mazda manual does the same. It's because it only updates when the clutch is at top of pedal travel, so digital update seems to lag, but that's by design.
Thanks for reviewing this super fun car. It's not like many of the cars that you do review, but I think that it does its job just right. Certainly we could get more power out of it but I don't know if it's necessary.

As much as I love this car, it WAY WAY WAY overpriced here in Germany. You could get a GT86 Dragon special edition for 31-32k brand new (which was completely fair) and they want 35k for a base spec GR86 and close to 40k for the "Premium". The US price is great, because it barely costs more than the GT86 did, but here in Germany they went complete bonkers.
That's unfortunately really just due to the euro depreciating versus the dollar in that time. Convert the $ price to € and VAT and you're practically there.
@@thixie Not really, the GR86 is sold over MSRP here, which is not normal in Germany (other cars also arent that much more expensive here than in the states).
