That's funny. I live in West Texas and I get goat heads and mesquite thorns and the slime has always worked. I never pull the stickers or thorn's out till I get home which helps the sealant seal better not having a huge hole to seal and losing air. I've used it for years and no problem.
I also have very positive experience with Stans, and I am shopping for a large quantity of tire sealant. I was curious about slime tubeless, due to the bulk quantities offered. From past experience with bicycle tube Slime and goat heads, I knew the inner-tube slime cure was marginally better than the disease, but I wondered if they could make it work without the scab-pulling effect of the inner tube. Thanks to this report, I know to steer clear of any liquid slime product, always and forever. The other benefit of Stans being low in water content, is it's lack of freezing.
what an eye opener i use slime on my old bike tire an i did have a small hole when i use slime an let it do it thing about 30mins later i give it a test on my bike an you know what about 3 blocks down it started to leak an i can see the green stuff slowy come out after that test i said i done with this crap an went to get 2 new solid no infilate bicycle inner tubes yea they cost me a good $30 a pop but in the long way no more worrys or put air in my tire again i will use this stan's no tubes sealant on my sister bike she wants to use it again she has a flat an dont have the time to get it fix you video sure let people know slime sealant sucks an stans is the winner you sold me i will get some an use it on my sister bike an she will be a happy camper again thanks for shareing this infomation i sure help me alot now !!!!!
I had this experience last night remounting a Jumbo Jim that I had pealed 60g of dried up sealant out of. I forgot about the 1/8" nail hole that was sealed by orange seal or truckerco sealant. I tried some demo slime I had signed up for. My results were exactly like this video
isn't the slime supposed to go inside the inner tube? not in the tire... at 1:30 you open it to show the slime and not only does it look very wattered down but also, it looks like you put it in the tire part not in the innertube like it's supposed to be
+twisteddark7969 No, not this one, although they DO make it for inside tubes too... this one was specifically for tubeless... and I will add that yes, I agree.... it seemed very watery to me and no particulates to speak of. I have no idea how it was supposed to seal a hole. The "old" slime had particulate "stuff" in it for bigger holes, this had none that I could detect.
i just put in stans no tubes on my inner tube by removing the presta core and as soon as i pumped it up i heard 2 holes. Spun the wheel around and sealed right up
+IllusionNconfusion Yes, actually I did.... (and a lot more times than the Stans), the night before when I tried to get it to seal and as you saw in the pictures I took. It just poured onto the ground. After the Stan's went in it sealed virtually instantly. The test was more than fair and square :-) Also, After letting the Slime sit under low pressure (abour 6-8 lbs) all night as soon as I put air to it it started leaking.
slime works well at normal pressure and I guess it will do the trick if it's there in your tube at the moment of getting a puncture - and if the wheel keeps spinning of course. did i miss smth?
This is not Slime's new tubeless formula. This is their old Slime Pro which wasn't that good. The new Slime Tubeless is coming out next month and my sample has worked better than my Stan's experiences thus far. Something to keep an eye out for...
In the Sealant Shootout review of sealants (link below), looking at the chart at the bottom of the review, it looks like Orange Seal nudged past all others in the last column. mbaction.com/tire-sealant-shootout/
Robert G: If you watch the whole video you will see it is the tubeless type and It was on a brand new tire (so there was no contamination). I followed the slime instructions and it failed in this use. On another note, I've use the automotive Slime in my tractors for years with good results.... but this just plain flat out (pun intended) did not work in this simple puncture.
They weigh about 150 lbs, come out of nowhere, from the bushes and attack and ram your tires with a deadly spike. I've heard once from a super mega ultra pro rider it put a hole all the way through the rim... You have to be careful, they can be super aggressive. They are only in some parts of the country. We have them here in Moab, I can confirm that. I bring my AK-47 and wear it on my back with plenty of 40 Rd mags to be sure they don't get to my expensive tires. I've had to mag dump a few here and there. No worries though, the extra weight makes my legs look nice when I wear my high heels as an added bonus.... 🤣
+Otaku forever Yes.... they make TWO types - if you read what is says right on the bottle (at :10) you will see I was using the proper "tubless" Slime.
the hole is to big cant use anymore tubeless. you can do clean inside very well and stitsch together the small leck can close the tubeless milk. or buy new tire or use with tube.

That's why we mostly use Stans in the Northeast. I've seen Slime freeze especially in fat bike tires during the winter.
Thanks for the great video! I'll definitely go with the Stans!
Ive heard the slime for bigger wheels like ATV/Lawnmower seals better than the verison just for bikes.

I had a bigger hole with Stan's and still sealed... Made it back to the car! Stan's hands down best!

Stan's The Man! Thanks for the review
I agree.Stan is the man.Never ride without the stuff if your tubeless.
After seeing the video below, it made me want to put Stan into every tube I own.
ruclips.net/video/-ounJzhUZFg/видео.html
Thanks man, great video. I've never been using slime, now I won't do it for sure. Thanks.
Do you have to clean out slime before you use Stan's?
Stan’s is the best! The only no tubes I will ever use!
You used the old automotive type slime, try the new bicycle Tubless specific slime.
original regular slime worked great in my tubless moped tire.

+CactusJackSlade yea, I thought they all had that ground up tires to plug the bigger holes. but appearently not lol, ty for your time
i just put in stans no tubes on my inner tube by removing the presta core and as soon as i pumped it up i heard 2 holes. Spun the wheel around and sealed right up
You didn't spin the tire with the slime,,

This is their new TUBELESS formula... and I was at or below normal pressures.... so IMO did not work at all.
This is not Slime's new tubeless formula. This is their old Slime Pro which wasn't that good. The new Slime Tubeless is coming out next month and my sample has worked better than my Stan's experiences thus far. Something to keep an eye out for...
Right at the beginning at the .10 mark - right on the bottle "Slime Pro" under that "Tubeless sealant"
Wow man..... good info!!!
Mix them together than you have the best tire sealant ever
GUINEAS lol
How long does it take for the sealant to dry out inside? A year?
I think slime is good for if you run over a nail and leave it till you get home.
Did you cleaned the inside of the tire before use slime pro?
+xaxaxa It was brand new tire when I put the Slime in, clean as a whistle :-)
xaxaxa good point
Does it work on Tubes then?
Yes
Wish you would have got your hands on a free bottle of Orange Seal.

Tires must be spinning to seal

What the hell is a goat head. U mean a literal goat hit you on it’s head

🤣
Because Slime is for Tubes :)
This is their new "TUBELESS" formula
i reseal my tubeless with stans and aftr one month sitting front tire goes flat
That's because tubeless tires aren't meant to sit for a long time, you have to rotate the tires occasionally.
Slime is not for no tube tires
+Otaku forever Yes.... they make TWO types - if you read what is says right on the bottle (at :10) you will see I was using the proper "tubless" Slime.
Man wash your bike! That drivetrain is rusty...
no rust.... red dirt :-)
henrik Slotta lol

what a mess
A big GREEN mess ;-)
just mix them
