- 2021 Lexus RCF Track Edition review by The Straight Pipes. Lexus RC F Track Edition is pumping out 472hp and 395 lb-ft tq from a 5L V8. At $120,000 CAD, would you take it over the BMW M4, Ford Mustang Mach 1, Chevy Camaro SS 1LE, Chevy Camaro ZL1 1LE, Audi RS5, Mercedes-AMG C63S Coupe?

@TheStraightPipes Great Review
nice car indeed
When you guys do test drives lexus LFA
The induction sound from that V8 is so iconic. I feel like this, the LC500 and IS500 are gonna be the last of their kind. I don't see this V8 being viable in 3-5 years time. It was fun while it lasted.
its truly intoxicating. i drove an ISF and never forgot it.
unless they make the new once hybrid and keeping the v8 that whould be awesome ..
That's why I'll be getting an IS500 if I can get it for the right price
@@danielfield7986 IS500 is just an IS with the V8 though, you'd be much better off with an actual F car.
@@MrRandomTwat Actually the LS500 is a much bigger car with maximum cab space. The ISF is available with a similar 5.0 liter V8 offered here with the RCF. I prefer my LS 460 to the new twin turbo V6 all day.
These cars are nice but with limited production and highly priced no ones gonna track these cause if they break it not easy to get them replaced
Replaced ? It’s a Lexus it shares parts with a shit ton of other cars lol.
They added lightness

Gimme, gimme. I'll take this over any weird future techie car.
I daily my 2015 RCF and absolutely love it... has the performance package and the TVD makes such a difference in feel.
Same here! I've had it for only 6 months but I'm in love. Almost added 10k miles already.
I daily a 2011 sentra se r spec v get recked😎😎😎
I daily mine as well. Two years of ownership. Never gets tired of it. Keeping it for a long long time

Our secret short lived modelling career
I’m sure it’s insanely fun to drive but at that price I’d rather just get the LC500.
Same, no way I’d pay 90k for this
Completely different cars. LC500 is a GT car, F cars are sports cars.
One thing I feel that the LC will depreciate more than the track edition, but if you’re never planning on selling it and just wanna drive it anywhere then definitely the LC
@@s.z.x.01 yay now it’ll be even more affordable
Nah you get an AMG
Being able to visually experience all these beautiful car is amazing. Where do these people find the energy to hit dislike. Keep dropping these videos
Haters gonna hate. We had fun 🤙
@@TheStraightPipes the dislike gang needs to publicly stoned 😂
I like how the traction control off symbol in the dash is of a car hitting another car lol. Lexus knew this thing slides around like it’s on ice.
I love my RCF it’s either you know what it is or you just don’t and I love that it’s also rare to see one I’d rather pay 90k for a car you don’t really see around then to pay 90k for a vehicle to see often or at every car meet there is. JMO
Dude I’m saying ! You hit the nail on the head. The rcf isn’t for everyone. It’s ONLY for Toyota enthusiasts. It’s a pure Toyota with a Toyota engine and a Toyota soul. Nothing borrowed ! Love the heck out of my rcf. I daily it and it never gets old !!!
Lexus Track Edition means for me, it´s a perfect Track cruiser.
Track cruising is fun but with the odd hot lap
I feel like this car stands for "really cool and fast" lol
RC Stands for Radical Coupe.
N reliable
100k for Mustang GT performance. ITS A JOKE. Lexus is laughable. Same motor from the 2008 ISF. WEAK
Just soooooo overpriced... from $65k to $100k USD for weight reduction, better brakes, and some extra rice on the outside with the same exact power.
Seems like a car for people who want to look like they go to the track.
Perfect vehicle for a Madmax apocalyptic world. Fast and Reliable!
That would be the 97 camry if it's in the madmax world lol
except your fuel reserves
"I didn't like lexus until the lc500" this cat just said he doesn't like the lfa 😂
LFA is so rare that even most car reviewers haven't driven it.
Lol I dont think he was counting that
@@wileoutunorthodox3479 how does your mind not immediately go to the lfa when talking about lexus
@@chasetingley1172 well for one it was only out for 2 years, most cars guys dont even know about it, I love the Lfa but when I think of Lexus I think ISF, LS 400, staples of Lexus. The LFA is such an elusive supercar that some people dont count it

The rcf isn’t for everybody. But it is for me ! Plus-the seats are some of the most comfortable I’ve ever been in
This is why I only buy rear drive cars. For my taste RWD is more fun.
I saw this irl, i couldnt take my eyes off it
Which ones better this model or the OG RCF
@@genieofdalamp I prefer the newer facelifted ones
@@AudiRSAvant Much better looking indeed
One of the WORST "track car" specially with this price tag. Just buy Lexus LC and forget about a track Lexus.
2UR-GSE, the king.
With those wheels, I find myself wanting to make jokes about skipping leg day.
ikr? they don’t fit at all lol
Smaller wheels perform better for track use
It looks like fun, but if I had the money, I'd get a preowned Audi R8 V10. I drove one on Sunset in L.A. and it destroys corners.

A stiff suspension doesn't actually put power down? Never heard that before.
This car would have been good if it came out 3 years ago, now it's just old looking even if it is a 2021 model. The entire IS/RC line up has been around for way too long.
people AREN'T buying it for 120K CAD.
Just get a Porsche.
Looking forward for you to test drive the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing! V8 668hp with a manual transmission option!!
Toyota/Lexus👌👌👌
You can price out a LC500 w/performance pack for cheaper, nobody should be buying this 2010 model before a LC
Not only that, this should have a supercharger and AWD :(
@@foam27.... why would it be AWD and supercharged? Use your fucking brain lol
@@foam27 Please never talk about cars.
Looks fun but way overpriced
It sure is nice to see your Sub numbers jumping now that you both have hit a million, here is to the steady climb to 10 mill and thank you Lexus for showing us your car because this is the finest review I have seen.
I'm happy that you guys got to drift this.
Same
I think lexus took two different routes at the 100k price point; one side being their ultimate Grand Touring vehicle, and the other side, their current, ultimate track car
Well said. But the best part is The rcf will live a long and prosperous/reliable life amongst all competitors. I love the lc500 but when it came down to owning one of the two. I chose the rcf
I love it! Thanks for the exciting review
It's cars like this that motivate me to work hard to eventually get one of these lol
Am curious how a Lotus would compare to this
Lexus should rename it to LIMITED edition so track guys won't hate it
No wonder Lexus want their version of GR86/BRZ .
i dont think it will happen, there isnt much proof and, 86 bros are being built in Subaru factory which isnt very Lexus
RC F track edition 👍👌😎
That NA V8 sounds SO good. Wicked car
For the similar price , I would get the Nissan GTR if I had the money .
The BMW M4 is so copied after the RC-F. I mean just look at the taillights. They didn't even try to hide it
Lexus would be my go to if I want a nice luxury car for a decent price
These cars don't belong anywhere but old people's garage's
I'm old and I have one.
Things I hate about it are:
No manual transmission
Sounds like a grandmother's car.
Not fun to drive
This is not a Shelby guys.
This is a beautiful luxury car.
Not that I'm their target demo, but I would DEF go Lexus over BMW here. Just because I think that engine is cool.
Nice! A stand alone RCF review. Great job as always guys! 👍🏻👍🏻
it looks like an 86/frs/brz bigger meaner brother. i approve. N/A too.
I don't care how limited this car is. It's extremely underwhelming compared to the new M4.
Underwhelming on paper. Until u drive one for few days. It has a learning curve. Then u will understand why they did things these ways. Two years of RCF ownership now. It puts smile on my face every time I drive it. Never going to buy a BMW again and not selling my RCF either ever
@@karambir87 Most of the people watching these videos have never driven performance cars and don't understand that there is so much more to a car than hp and 0-100 speeds.
Lexus pls just put a supercharger on

Best thing about your videos is the intros and music. Least good bit... "Vincero watches"
A Toyota rep came by with one of these in white at a track day we were doing near Toyota HQ and the contrast with the carbon fiber and the white body made this car look gorgeous
At this point you guys review this car just to trash it. Lexus isn't for everyone man but damn they're amazing automobiles

This is so hard to watch considering the guy with the hat seems to disagree with everything the other guy is saying or interrupting him
still better than throttle house
You might have to short-shift out of first gear before the variable valve lift kicks in (@ 5,000 rpms give or take). Short-shift out of first and full send into second might net the best launches on an un-prepped drag surface. Otherwise, stand by for smoke lol.
There is no variable lift on the 2URGSE engines. Only variable timing aka cam phasing or cam degreeing to retard or advance.
SInce LExus called this a TRACK Edition, how are the laptimes?
You should see imsa gt3, this thing can beat cars with much more horsepower.
Don't like the headlights, but decent i guess
early squid whats up!
Cephalopods, represent!
The Lexus launch control is hilariously bad. But in the best way. You put the thing in launch mode and even while it’s standing still the rear tires are spinning lol. IF you want a fast and reliable factory tuner car, BUY ONE OF THESE USED. You will not be disappointed. Trust me.
What makes a used RCF worth it over let's say... M4 or C63s?
@@genieofdalamp Reliability my friend. The motor dates back to a 2008 design and that in itself dates back to the original 1UZ from 1990. It has all but proven itself to be indestructible. For $35k, that’s not bad at all. Especially considering you’re getting more comfort and refinement than your everyday boombox Mustang or Camaro. And you’re also buying a car that could potentially increase in value.
@@Soh90 you think these could pull what the ISF did and hold their value / raise in value for the low milaged RCFs? They seem to have become harder to find as of recent times and I don't think they'll be making too many of these.
@@genieofdalamp I think it has the potential to. Especially since everyone is going electric. But even if it doesn’t gain value, I think the RC-F is worth its weight in gold lol. Granted you could find one for about $35k. That’s not a lot of money for a lot of car… these things may be slower than BMW M4’s but they’re still 4 seconds cars to 60mph!
I got a 21’ rcf with 4,000 miles on it. Spent two weeks test driving Porsches, bmw, f type jags, mustang, and a srt chally. The rcf is so rare on my side of town I can’t go to the gas station without stares and a convo striking up. Worth every penny. Especially since the 5.0 v8 and trans will outlast most cars in its class. Spent years working on cars, the Toyotas/Lexus’s are built with lots of care
Why are you saying you'll never get one used? Are they hard tofind used?
There’s 3 for sale in Canada
RC-F vs Camaro SS 1LE?
I'm with Yuri, IS350 AWD....yuck. Great review!

How quick will the tranny die on slicks?
Wow I wake up so early today! Love that V8 sound
Why have you two not reviewed the MITSUBISHI EVOLUTION X?????!!!!!
just wrx and stis? Biased much?
The RCF....for when you want a worse Mustang at 3x the price. The RCF is the worst of ricer culture rolled up in a nice V8. Its an overweight hodgepodge of a platform with a wing thrown on so they can call it their "track car". Lexus if that is your track car you failed. Signed Lexus fanboy and owner.
Rcf is a spaceship, looks amazing. Nice opinion though?
@@genieofdalamp Lots of cars look amazing. Personally, the RCF looks bloated.
@@tbird2692 I see what you mean it is a boat of a GT car but it makes up for by being heavily placed and having nice grip on the road. Would you prefer something more like a box Audi TT or Toyota Supra sized?
It’s not anything like a mustang tho. They may both have V8’s but the rcf is in its own class in a way. Plus it gets way more attention from the ladies. Trust lol I’ve got a 2012 gt stang and love it but the rcf is way more classy, luxurious, and plain baller compared to the cheap feeling of a stang
He’s whining about stiff suspension and he owns a fiesta st ?
Yeah Fiesta ST is great compared to this in stiff mode
Just priced this out in Canada ... it's more like CAD$142,131.87 and that's cash payment which includes the track package and taxes, etc. Kinda pricey when you also add in the fact that it's gonna need premium fuel at a top dollar. Only the rich it seems ...
I need that engine in my 86 🥶
Does Lexus need to engineer a new RCF chassis to decrease weight and compete with the M4? NOPE, BMW went ahead and did Lexus a favor by porking up the M4.
That transmission thing is how all Toyota feel!
Idk what but something about the wheel fitment on this car drives me up the wall. It's like the uncanny valley of fitment - so close that it's objectively good, but knowing what perfect looks like (Lotus Emira, for example) makes these look awful
The red carpeting makes it a bit much for my taste. The fact we can’t get the track edition in black in the U.S. is disappointing. Other than that, it’s amazing! I have an IS F. This motor has proven itself since 2007. I might consider an LC500 in the future.
@14min You guys are talking about how it feels like the transmission shifts and feels like it shifts again before taking off - I have a RCF and it was killing me, I was thinking how can it shift again but the gear doesn’t change. After a lot of research I found it is the torque converter fully locking. Apparently, a feature of this transmission is that it fully locks around 2k in every gear but 1st. They must have programmed the car to dip the fuel or something right before locking up to reduce wear or something? Who knows, but now that I know I have been able to avoid all of that by downshifting an extra gear to keep the revs up or just be conscious that if the revs drop below 2k or so I will have a dip in acceleration if I need to take off quickly.
I love everything about this car except for the fact that it is physically too small for me to inhabit. With the seat fully down and back, when I get halfway in, the top of the door hatch is about ear-height and I just can't bend in any way that lets me fully saddle up. The roofline petty much at nose or eye level if I were somehow able to phase through metal to assume a driver's position. I'm about 6'4-6'5. The glasses this video's first driver is wearing would be at or below my shoulder level. =\
Take this as a long term tester
😂 horsepower power Numbers - 0 to 60 times ! BMW of Lexus??? so one can go 65 miles an hour on the highway and race from stoplight to stoplight 😂
Lexus RC-F track edition and the Supra 2022 beat Mustang Mach 1. Amazing race....
That launch control sounds absolutely awful. Sounds like it's bouncing off the limiter & bogging off the start.
POWERSLIDE* Not A Drift
Looks like you're driving on cobbles....bobing up n down all the time...On a Track!!!!
The last of its kind ...
Eater egg. The pattern in the clock face is the same pattern you'll find inside the headlights of an LC500 and you'll find it nowhere else in the Lexus line up
