The challenge is that it's part of the user experience - like, I use Spotify personally, and I wouldn't want to have to get an artist's personal approval each time I added a song to my "Summer 23" playlist. One solution would be to make playlists private (like Apple Music does). But I don't love that, either... I like following other people's playlists. IMO, probably the best solution would be for Spotify to be a lot more active in removing sketchy playlists. Would take work on their end, but I think it would be the most helpful for artists.
happened to me too. I reported it to spotify so they at least know I didnt pay for botted streams. They made a note in my account of it so I definitely wont be penalized since it was out of my control. I truly think these scammers are te lowest lifeforms on earth.
Happened to me today, when you reported it how did you do it? Did you say it was 'deceptive content' or 'just don't like it'. Also if you know how to remove yourself from it, how do you?
@@zar4fa support.spotify.com/us/article/report-content/ You can also go through Spotify for Artists support. They won't take you off of the playlist, but it can't hurt to let them know.
Guys this wavr ai playlist is messing up my analytics/stats I was randomly got added to this playlist and it's putting bot streams into my song Fallen, I already reported this to Spotify for artists but it still continues 😭😭please help me😭💔my music is getting bot streams against my own will😭
My band and a lot of other local bands I know have had one ot two songs put on this list randomly. It was kinda obvious it was probably bots from the beginning. So I mailed them instantly and asked them to remove my song. Very sketchy.
After being skeptical we have now tried Moonstrive which seems legit. And I'm pretty sure they don't break spotifys terms of service since they don't gurantee placement on lists. But straight up buying a spefcific number of streams like with Wavr gotta be against terms of service.
Dude, a couple of my songs have been added on and off of those playlists. I'm not going to bother trying to get them off, beacuse theyll just appear back after a few weeks.@@twostorymediamusic
@@nosleeppattern8837 bad news is that yes, it could screw up how Spotify sees your music. The best thing to do is to a) flag it to Spotify and b) try to balance it with real streams. Spotify will probably tell you they can't remove your song from the playlist, but it can't hurt to ask.
@@twostorymediamusic Yes, I wrote to Spotify support, they answered me like everyone else. I asked them if I might have a problem and they told me that they are doing everything possible to make my streams real or something like that
Tnx for this. Some artists actually believe they've had their songs removed by Spotify because of fake streams - so if wavr is involved, and you use the Wheel of Playlist feature, you might end up like that?
Thanks for watching! Imo, there might be a link with Wheel of Playlist, but there are plenty of artists who a) never used that and b) aren't even distributing through DistroKid. I think these guys are just scraping low-stream artists in general.
Ugh, I'm really sorry. Things have gotten worse since I made this video, because Spotify kicked the can to distributors, and now they're cracking down to save themselves money. Sucks all around.
@albertovejero @JuLiAn31692 you can flag it here: support.spotify.com/us/report-content/ - but almost certainly nothing will happen. And yeah, you should find you're removed from it within a week or so.
Anything that 1) is a good fit for your music, 2) doesn't require payment for placement on a specific list, and 3) doesn't have sharp spikes or dips in follower growth.
