I actually own a one of a kind 1970 Roadrunner Superbird rear wing sticker. My dad was the head of production for the company that made the stickers for 3M and sold to Chrysler. He brought the sticker home one night and gave it to me. I never put it on anything and it's reminded in the original transfer papers. It never was delivered to either 3M or Chrysler. It still has the original prat number on it. A few years back my dad wrote a letter to establish it's provenance. There is no price that I would ever sell it for!

Er... I bought a bunch of Superbird decals (and Roadrunner decals) at a car show in the late 1980s (Raceway Park, Englishtown, NJ) and put them on my 71 Satelite Sebring to make it look cool... I assume you can still get them today.
Yes, aftermarket decals are available but mine is an original that came right off the manufacturing floor. I wish I still had all the collection of stickers I was given from Mach !, Supper Bee and both Color and Black & white Road Runners. Can't even remember them all. I still have a snowmobile helmet with a Black & white Road Runner. The Super Bird sticker was so big I never had a place to put it so I just set it aside.

It gets worse. 1 team actually showed up with a 300 cube engine and qualified. NASCAR changed the rules before the race started to try and slow the car down even more
It's true and multiple owners drivers and mechanics involved in NASCAR have come out about it some have even taken credit for getting it banned
NASCAR and Dodge have a interesting history that actually predates the Daytona there have been many arguments about what motors Dodge could and couldn't use which is a huge deal because Dodge makes amazing motors and there were arguments about the dementions of Dodge cars I personally believe all the BS is why Dodge left NASCAR all together which I don't blame them you shouldn't have to dumb down your cars in racing

It’s like if somebody nowadays make a horse drawn carriage body for a car. It’s unconventional and doesn’t strike as cool.
Big grill was the thing then. No spoilers. No coned front ends. They’re all big blocky cars. Aerodynamic wasn’t in the game yet.

Nope. The 68 Barracuda with a hemi. The Barracuda was much lighter than the coronet chassis, which made it even faster. Then, Hurst went nuts and moved the engine to under the back of that huge rear window; It was called 'Hemi under glass' and was a terrific crowd pleaser with all the wheelies they did at the shows. The 67 through 69 hemi cuda was the ultimate muscle car. They only made about 50 of them from the factory, but enterprising shade tree mechanics simply dropped their own hemis into lesser powered cars to create their own hemi cudas! The hemi cudas could run the quarter in the 10's, unheard of for street cars back in the day, and even today that's damn quick! The ULTIMATE muscle cars! Nothing else even came close.

Lowe’s opened in my town in 71 and as a promotion they gave away a Petty blue Superbird. The man that won it used it as a daily driver, hauled his lawn mower in it, and generally ran it into the ground. Don’t know what became of it but I hope somebody got it and brought it back.
When I was kid in the 70's, I used to see an orange Super Bird parked on 10th avenue and Cabrillo in SF near my friends house. I distinctly remember the Road Runner sticker on the wing pillar and the bright orange paint.

There is a guy here in Midwest City Oklahoma that frequently drives a white 1970 Superbird. Last time I saw it, it had 51,000 miles on the clock. July this year. Beautiful car, looks like it just rolled out the showroom door.

some people say it was they did not want to make cars so fast, and other story its that there was a competition where you have to use factory cars under 300hp, so was a privilege for a brand to dominate that category (and I hear about the gtr were banned a couple times hehe)

Of course i didnt mean any of it seriously. I just love american classics. Mustangs, camaros, corvettes, chargers, challengers and so on. Especcially for their design and the power output. Personally I have driven 07 mustang gt and 2015 f150 platinum of the famous ones and i absolutely love these.
