This is awesome right here. I've learned how to gradually raise the volume using automation for a certain instrument or sound, but I never know that can work with the whole master track itself. I wanted to be able to do that with certain of my songs that I've produced and recorded. I make my tracks on Maschine and then exported to Ableton Live 11 to record my vocals, adlibs, chorus/hook to complete the songs. But I did wanted to apply the same technique for a full song.

I've been using Maschine since the beginning but never used the onboard effects. Mainly because I didn't know how to. I appreciate how straightforward you are and don't go in circles or drag an explanation. After really digging into maschine I'm. realizing just how powerful it is all thanks to you brother man. Duke.. this video took me ALL THE WAY THERE. Over the years i've spent so much time, and money (buying useless plugs).. and now, NI got the shit sleeping right under the hood.. that works seamlessly way better. It allows you to PERFORM your effect, and not have to manually write it in (on some rocket science sh!t). Yesssssss.. & your instruction is clear. you do it in a way all heads can get it. Much appreciated/i would give you a million likes if i could (i was already subscribed Lol).. Time to have some fun now
UPDATE: i know this video was made 3 years ago.. So i would just like to add.. When you want to RECORD what you do on Perform FX. you can now do it without doing all that routing stuff.. Just hit the buttons "Shift" + "Auto" (to put it in the automation mode).. & then "Shift + Record".. and do your effect on the Performance Strip. & it will be recorded. You'll hear it when you playback.. That will give you both hands to work with (instead of holding that "Auto" Button the whole time)
Straight up Boss, you got me flying with this.. For years i've been wrestling with finding a better way then writing that sh!t in.. & here we go. I've been on NI's Maschine since Mk1.. and their constant updates can be a headache.. but they do get some sh!t sooooo right. Maschine for life, baby.!!!
I have seen numerous videos on time stretching in maschine. This one by far is the best one.

Aye Bruh you explained this perfectly pertaining to the topic I just wish Maschine was a bit more linear when it comes to their daw and how to do things I feel like a nice update to simplify things would be great. And I only say that because when your in a creative mood you don’t want to do all these steps to lay down a simple idea you just want it to flow

Great Videos... just really got into this mk3 my problem is counting in to start the beat sometimes it doesn't start at the right point so then have to record through traktor and then edit it that way...
If you hit "Shift" and then "Auto", Auto is locked, so you don't need to hold down the Auto button all the time. Tape stop parameters definetely need some adjustment on this beat, sounded to short and kinda "unreal".
But this tutorial shows a major workaround for using Perform FX until NI allows us to use them on sound and master level. They definetely need to fix this with an update, man. Thx 🙏

Yo bro once again I want to thank you for this video. I also thought of a idea they probably need to look at in the next maschine is having a spot maybe we where they have the machine plus word put three extra buttons there., to assign effects there so you would not have to use up your eight banks or buttons .I wish that Saint Joe, Bizzz Beatz and your self could look into that Ideal And push it to native instruments development team

I had to add the performance effect inside the actual group I wanted to affect the extra group doesn't have anything in it and it works I did it the way you said and it didnt work so basically I did what you said in reverse and that worked
Nice technique and fresh beat but after this how to create a master fader for export the beat or for add some FX on the master fader like a compressor or a limiter ?

I have a question though; when I follow this workflow and enter my Performance FX, the way you, are I notice my recorded automation for the group I'm on (like Tape Stop) It puts down a 1 bar pattern that plays twice when the group I am routing it to is a 2 bar pattern in a scene. The result is the FX is doubled, once for each bar in that scecne Do you know what I mean? Your Tap Stop duration is just the Automated amount, not the whole bar - the way mine is coming in.. Any ideas? Now, after typing all this I scrolled to see if you have more than one scene and I notice you are using clips not patterns. I wonder if thats cause Im using Patterns and Scenes vs clips. Either way. BRO I learned a lot with this one and its cool to understand setting Perform FX up for live jamming but also for laying FX into tracks. Im gonna retry with Clips but get back to me if you know!! HUGE UPS. Thank you.
The steps you're giving on the maschine plus for the tape stop effect am I taking the same steps on the mk2

How do you copy the performance efx in different sections of the song using the hardware also how do you rename it

I will do one tape stop but once i finish it keeps repeating the effect? Any one know how to fix this????
how do we bounce down the performance fx onto my desktop in its own track
For the stutter effect, how come the values change when you push auto? For example the gate is at 100%, but changes to 0 when auto is pushed. Loop direction changes to “reverse”, etc. I’ve never been able to figure that out
It actually changes when and where I touch the strip. The auto button is just to record the changes. Hope this helps!
@@AGgotBeats Thanks for the reply! I know it changes when you touch the strip but if you look, the values change as soon as you turn on auto, and before you even touch the strip. Mine does this too and I find it annoying, because you will sit there and practise the FX routine a couple times, but then when you hit auto to record it, it will behave slightly different and sound slightly different then what you were practising, even if you do it exactly the same

That's a great idea! If you do it this way using clips, you can save it as a group and load it again in another project. Hope this helps

When I use this feature, it adds a lot of small boxes on the arrangement. It makes it a continuous drop the whole 8 measures. Please help!
8 boxes come up under my arraignment. Not just the one that comes up when you do it.
