a foggy Monday morning collecting fluorites in Derbyshire to cut and polish please add your comments as I love to read them and will respond. mail me at secretsofthestones74@gmail.com
I've been hand sanding one side of a stone since the beginning of summer. Sandpaper + water + figure of eight some have turned out shiny some haven't. I'm going to try powder grits to get them shinier. Some lovely pieces you've got there. 😊
lovely finished piece buddy! i've never thought of getting a table saw due to living in a flat but seeing how nice and compact yours is i think i might have to get myself one for the garden! 👍🏻
They are really handy and relatively cheap, the bigger blade diameter the better. I bought mine from machine mart though it's now died as I've left it outside for several winters
Ahh it always brings a real big smile to my face when I see you've uploaded a video. As always thank you. Very much enjoyed it. And how beautiful was all the detail you revealed! Would be interested to know what grits you used. I only have a tiny dremel but think potentially with some time and patience I could maybe get some nice results.
Thank you Jo, it makes it worthwhile that it's appreciated. I'm unsure of the grits as they came in a kit but I would guess at 200/500/2000 as they are comparable to my other set. I definitely need to invest in a better workbench set up to keep them steady whilst polishing
@@theyorkshirecrystalhunter5462 well I for one really do enjoy and appreciate uour contents very much Thanks. Yes I just purchased some polishing attachments and grit. I'm thinking over winter I might get some time to give it a go. Always takes a lot longer than i expect especially when I try something a bit different. Glad to hear it's worked for you in the past. Cheers for the response 😊
Hey, I don't think there is more than a quick glance at this in the video, I took some photos for the slides at the end and the thumbnail The colours are lovely in it
Loving the piano music by the way!🥰
I am new to your channel but I hope to find more singing while hunting! Wonderful voice and brilliant song choice

Sometimes the ones you want to shine just don't have the structure to do it.
The finer grains with the highest silicates (quartz etc) polish the best
Those fluorite crystals are really nice, you mentioned Castleton I was thinking Blue John somewhere about 🤔
There is the odd piece about but most of the land is now protected, I do have a few pieces in my collection, it's a lovely coloured crystal
Great channel. Nice to know there are others out there who appreciate crystals and minerals as much as I do. Keep up the good work 👍👍
Thank you, I appreciate your support 👍

Wow what a haul today!! At the quarry that first banded piece you picked up was stunning! I screen shot a few I’d like 😉😁
It was Gracie,
Mail me with the pictures if you want and hopefully I actually remembered to pick those ones up 😆

I have previously used the Dremel and finished it with polishing compound and a buffing attachment

Hey what is the time stamp for the thumbnail? It looks gorgeous and couldn’t find it in the video. So pretty, I wanted to see it live

I really like the orange piece with galena at 6:25. Did you bring that back?
No, I got distracted by the big lump behind it and left it on the rock. 🙄
@@theyorkshirecrystalhunter5462 maybe another day ☺️
