First, do not drop in your Specimens and roll them around together, second, use baking soda to neutralize the acid before rinsing them. Finally, use a stiff toothbrush and toothpaste or Barkeepers Friend to scrub them. Be careful with the acid as it has bad, harmful fumes and will burn skin if prolonged exposure. Also, do in a ventilated area as the fumes will affect other objects in the area, especially metal.

I haven't been there where you are for a while now, we really will have to arrange something soon. I know it can be a little tricky at night but would you be up for fluorescent hunt soon? I know how much you will appreciate seeing fluorescent minerals on the Yorkshire coast. What do you think of the Fluorite fluorescence? Is it from Milltown? They have the most insane patterns! I recently got back from a fluoro hunt in Milltown, it was an amazing adventure. If you ever get the chance i would love to see a UV demo vid on some of the material you have coz you got some great stuff, but i understand it can be very tricky sometimes to record UV footage, it seems to play havoc with the light sensors, but Sony cameras work well 😉 Jah Bless my brother!
