I'm the same as you - love to look at the trends and just use them for inspiration - I don't follow them blindly. As much as I love bright colors - I'm kind of excited about Burgundy for some reason 🤣 The Vintage Elegance trend is beautiful but I have absolutely no place to wear any of those styles. I love the high neck look so I need to think about different ways I can incorporate that. 🌸. Animal prints are a neutral in my world 🤣. I will always wear them!! 🌸 I would totally wear a metallic suit to the office when I have to travel for work - that would be very cool. 🌸 I am a big fan of boho - that style has my name all over it. As usual, you came up with a really fun idea for a video 😊💕
I enjoyed reading through the comments. I do sew what I love and when I sew for my life - it is sewing what I want which means I may run errands in a dressy outfit 😊.
I usually don’t follow trends, but I love to hear and see them. However, I may follow this Fall because they are all my favorites!!! Well, minus the bohemian style. Thanks for sharing!
i agree--there were an unusual number of wearable trends this year! well, i did purposely leave out some of the unwearable ones, like the no-pants trend.
I really enjoy seeing all your pattern picks! I will be pulling out a few leopard print things for fall. There are a couple of nice burgundy fabrics in my stash - now I’m dreaming of how to work them into my wardrobe. Thank you for all the care you put into your videos.
What a fabulous round up. Thank you. I love the trends but am trying hard to “sew for the life I have” which rules out loads as I am retired. I love burgundy but was surprised that chocolate brown was not featured more as an autumn trend this year. 😊 Lynne
Not much of a follower of trends, however I like the poet blouse and pencil skirt the most. The most important thing is to do what you think is best for you.
Thanks for the great pattern ideas. I don't really follow trends but I definitely like boho, if it's not over the top, and denim is a staple in my closet. I kept my faux fur hooded thigh length coat from 20 years ago so no need to sew one. I just have to dust it 😂
hopefully with it trending, there will be more good fabrics available. i find that happens pretty often...it just takes a little while to trickle down to the fabric shops.
This was really interesting. I went down a rabbit hole questioning spring summer trends. Most were very generic answers but good inspiration. Thanks for the video
Loved this! I’m not a huge trend follower, but I do like to make sure I look current when possible. I think I need a leopard print pussy-bow blouse for this fall! LOL Would look amazing under a black tailored blazer for work.
I love your videos. You always have such a thoughtful take on fashion. I had to laugh when you mentioned the poet blouse because I knew exactly what you meant. I had one myself in high school, but I was also thinking of an episode of Seinfeld where it was either Jerry or Kramer who wore a poet type blouse I think. I don’t remember the premise just the visual image. That’s how trendy it was I guess. lol. Anyway I agree that it would be fun to reinterpret that for today. You’ve also got me thinking of sewing a paisley blouse. Thanks for the inspiration!
Thank you Sara, such a great video. I don’t consciously follow trends but always like to know what’s going on , and probably am influenced from time to time. I am a casual dresser which reflects my lifestyle and continue to enjoy wearing denim, but wouldn’t wear double denim !!! I plan to make my first denim dress this Autumn , but just can’t decide on a pattern, I also love that Boho blouse which would look great with jeans or a maxi denim skirt.
Boho forever

thanks, Michelle! i completely agree that animal prints are neutrals. and i could totally see you rocking a metallic business suit!

ain't nothing wrong with that!
You must have had a lot of fun with this, and as always you choose an interesting and inspiring selection of patterns for us.
I did! i'm glad others seem to have enjoyed it as well.
I really love the Boho. I wear it anyway. I was in Jr High and High school when it came around in the late 60's and early 70's.
i know it's a style that is really popular every time it comes back and i'm sure this year will be no exception. i do like boho accessories and shoes.
I love this idea! You really did a great job with matching up patterns. I like to know trends, even if I don't want to follow them. 😂
it is always nice to know what is going on around us. at least i think so. 😊
Like others, I don't tend to dress from trends, but I do appreciate being inspired by them to explore new ideas! This was a great round-up!
Glad you enjoyed it!

all shades of brown are definitely on trend. i couldn't include everything or we would've been here for hours. 😂
Great round up! I love the olive green shades- also love ChatGPT 😂
thank you for watching!
Great roundup. Thank you!
You make the most fun/ unique videos❤
thank you! i'm so glad you enjoy them.
Ah, that explains why I saw two isles of Faux Fur at Joann's the other day!
or there's a furry convention coming to town. 🤣
I am not a trend follower but I do find them interesting.
even if you stay in your own lane, it's good to keep up with what is going on around you imo.

of course!

absolutely! i have a leopard faux fur coat too. i don't wear it much b/c it's overly hot most of the time...but maybe if we have a cold winter.
I appreciate the work you put into this. I might need to find an animal print I like.
hopefully with it trending, there will be more good fabrics available. i find that happens pretty often...it just takes a little while to trickle down to the fabric shops.

i'm tempted by that idea as well. i think it could look really cute as a work look or more dressed down with jeans.

you're welcome! i'm glad someone else remembers those poet blouses--they were everywhere!

i think that double denim can work on some people but for me it's hard to get the image of britney/justin out of my head. thanks for watching!
Fun idea for a video!
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
heading off to read more about Chloe's boho
honestly, i kind of hated it. fashion editors loved it though.
I think the only trend I am leaning toward is oxblood… I really want to make the knit tank vest from Madewell.
i knit a burgundy sweater vest a few years back--i'm definitely going to be wearing it more this year. hope you can recreate your perfect vest!
