This movie was actually mostly made by Blue Sky Studio until Disney shut the studio down in 2021 and left the project 75% finished. And now Netflix saved it and finished it at Annapurna Pictures and DNEG Animation

The fact that you guessed the ending twist in the first like, two seconds of this video, blew my mind 😭
As a gay trans person, I felt the line "I don't know whats worse, the fact that everybody in this kingdom wants to drive a sword through my heart...or that sometimes I just wanna let them" goes so hard when you're what others see as a "monster"

Nimona is the movie we need, not the movie we deserve. It's a fucking tragedy that I'm scared to show my father my favourite movie for fear of him thinking it's too preachy like he disliked Bros for being "too gay"

Honestly Ambrosius did piss me off during that part of the movie, but I can see why he did what he did. He was manipulated by The Director and he was led to believe that what he was doing was right. Obviously that does not excuse his actions, but at least he realized it was wrong. It certainly would have been better for every party involved if he realized it way before he did, but I'm just glad we have this movie now, and how well the movie turned out from being scrapped then revived.

It always baffles me that cis people (mostly people entirely out of the LGBTQ+ community) don't catch that Nimona is supposed to represent genderqueer people (and apparently neurodivergent people aswell). They say ,,I'm not a girl" multiple times + there's a TRANS FLAG twice in the movie (one time is when Nimona is talking about shape-shifting). AND the very fact that the creator of the novel (and the co-producer of the movie), ND Stevenson, is a trans person (and neurodivergent too if I remember correctly).
I loved the movie. And can't wait for a sequel.

Right as a genderfluid they scream genderqueer so hard, there is so much I relate to in this move
I mean, all the cishet people I know caught on. I've seen exactly one person-- a reviewer-- who didn't realize what Nimona represented until someone pointed out to them while they were editing their video.
You should definitely watch Arcane. It's also a theater of emotions, but more... dark.

also, if you ever consider branching out into animated series you should start out with The Owl House (if you haven't seen it already). Pretty similar themes and also chaotic as hell, in the best way.
Also, the movie is based on a graphic novel by ND (or Nate) Stevenson who is trans-masc non-binary. He wrote it during his journey of discovering his gender-identity.
I actually am thinking about branching off into animated series and anime in general, but all of that stuff will unfortunately only be on my patreon 😅

@@sunnyclouds_v15 According to the data I could find there were over 130 suicides from 2013-2017 in children 5-11 in the US. If a movie could have helped some of them get help, then I believe it's totally worth it. Just sayin'. Suicide isn't limited to teens and adults.

you need to watch Willy's Wonderland it's got fun animatronics, a good story, and if you're looking for blood guts a good time, and some good songs it's the movie for you (just be aware that it's not based on FNAF or in anyway related to FNAF)
