Don't know how I lived without this for so long! I make dog food for 2 of our dogs ruclips.net/user/postUgkxG-7WiT7ocumjytOpHDFt632PL0pxXRAg (we have 5!) and it is so much quicker in this. Love having the inner pot stainless so I can use my immersion blender right in it without worrying about scratching. It makes potatoes great and fast! Still working on the vegetables, first time came out great, second time I did different ones and they were a little too mushy. Just need to adjust the time. I highly recommend this pot!!!
A pressure cooking tip for pot roast. Cook your roast under pressure first, time dependent on size of roast and desired tenderness. For a three pound chuck roast, I like forty five minutes personally. Do a quick release, then add your veggies to pot. Replace lid and cook under pressure for ten minutes. Do a quick release at end of cook time. There you go, no more mushy veggies. Fork tender but still a bit of firmness. I guarantee you this method works every time 😉. Happy pressure cooking ! 😋
That looks delicious. My mom used to make this and she would flour the meat before browning in oil. She said it would help start the rouh that would later be the gravy.
Thank you for your demonstration, your pot roast looks wonderful! My Instant Pot arrived today and I can hardly wait to try it out. Best wishes from Ohio.
This came out absolutely perfect. Wish I would have had some A1. Made gravy from the stock and added the leftovers back, yea, beef stew. Thank you for the recipe!
David Holt tell your wife to cook the meat according with time chart minus 10 minutes. When the pot beeping, start putting the veggies and potatoes in and cook on pressure another 10 minus. Voila, perfect meal everytime.
This is super! Making my first chuck roast with everything you have but A1... Do you think Yukon potatoes would be too soft to use in this recipe? I could leave out or try sweet potatoes? Would appreciate your thoughts on that :) Thanks for a really clear, enjoyable presentation. ~cheers~
What was the dry spice you used besides red pepper spice. What do you think about adding the A1 and worsheShire before you add the 3 cups broth? That way the sauces will go down into the juice. I noticed you did that with the dry spices.
IMO there is just no reason to waste time browning the onions when using a pressure cooker. Brown the roast, pressure cook it 20 min, NRP then ad the veggies pressure cook for another 20 minutes
There is actually a really good reason to. The onions can't carmelize while under pressure. They have to start a burning process while under high intense heat and it releases a burnt sugar flavor we all love called caramelization. You cannot get this flavor while under pressure, and while using the instant pot you need to build levels of flavor. So IMO I highly recommend using the saute' function to caramelize a lot of veggies or meats before pressure because it pays off in flavor.
Might want to put the seasonings in after the broth so the seasonings don't all get rinsed off the meet. Also, how do you prevent the vegetables from becoming overcooked?
Wether you natural or vent release, just remember the safety mechanism will not allow for opening while there is still pressure. So don't be afraid, things won't go, kaboom!!
Like the idea of breaking the roast up into its "natural" chunks. Helps determine the direction of the grain in each piece for cutting since in a chuck the grain seems to run all over the place and is difficult to read.
People get into to much of a rut. mix it up suprise your family by cooking and serving it on a different day. I use to go to buffets and got tired of the same old things on the same day every week, boring. thanks for video
I just had to let you know that Worcestershire is pronounced woos-ter (or ta 😉)-sheer. Natives of Worcester MA. are proud to say they are from Woosta and that in cooking, they use what their English forebears called woostasheer sauce. Not trying to be mean or "know-it-all"!😄
What a brilliant idea to put the pressure cooker on a wooden board on the cooker. I ordered one but I have no idea where to put it when it arrives. I think I'll borrow your idea :D
LMF5000 I do the same thing with mine because when I release the pressure I turn on the vent a hood and the steam gets sucked up in there instead of out into the kitchen
Traci Vosberg the natural pressure release allows for a longer cooking time which is helpful in cooking meat dishes, giving more tenderness to the meat
Nonya Bness I thought so too. It would turn into meat chowder at this point lol. My instapot cook potatoes through and through in 12mins. I bought the late 2017 walmart model so I think thats why the cook time might be different.
the walmart model has a 6-in-1 computer program. the pot itself is the same, the heating element is the same. the cooking is the same. the only different between a 6-in-1 and a 7-in-1 is the additional yogurt function. Enjoy !
Someone goes to the time and effort to produce a very helpful video, and all you can say is "Lose the nose ring"? What is wrong with you? While I may not understand the desire to adorn oneself with piercings, I view it as a personal style choice. It is really none of your business.

Owyhee Mountains - Hope your roast turns out perfect ! Let us know ! 😉
That's what I was thinking as well.
Yeah that looked yck.
Thanks For sharing
"Looks Good"...that's an understatement, I would describe it a FANTASTIC!
"I'm short so I like to use a stool" Love it! So cool that you use that to be able to see into your cooking. ;-)
That looks delicious. My mom used to make this and she would flour the meat before browning in oil. She said it would help start the rouh that would later be the gravy.
That's how I do it too. It'll develop a nice fond (flavorful brown bits) on the bottom of the pot and you can deglaze it with a little red wine.
Yep, cooked flour, that's what Wondra is.
Thank you for your demonstration, your pot roast looks wonderful! My Instant Pot arrived today and I can hardly wait to try it out. Best wishes from Ohio.
I've followed this recipe about 5 times now. Perfect pot roast.
Every time I make instant pot pot roast I refer to this video. Please keep it up!
The roast looked delicious! I enjoyed the video, and got some helpful tips for making a roast in my instant pot. Thank you.
WOW! I followed your tutorial using 6lbs of stew beef and it taste fantastic.
This came out absolutely perfect. Wish I would have had some A1. Made gravy from the stock and added the leftovers back, yea, beef stew. Thank you for the recipe!
I made this but put mine on for 50 minutes on the meat setting, turned out AMAZING! Thank you.😊 I let it natural release.
OMG,my Kids got me this Pot for Christmas and now I have to Cook the Christmas Dinner ....Good Luck to me ....I hope it goes well !
Does the lid have to be on for the sous vide funtion to work?
Either way it looks delicious add a little sickener that a nice beef stew there
Waiter there's a hare in my food! LOL Great video
When my wife cooks with this product the potatoes and carrots are mush. The roast is very nice.
David Holt tell your wife to cook the meat according with time chart minus 10 minutes. When the pot beeping, start putting the veggies and potatoes in and cook on pressure another 10 minus. Voila, perfect meal everytime.
Same issue. Great for yogurt and rice, but it makes vegetables and potatoes to soft.
Now this woman is an awesome wife she gets right to it she's not telling you about all this bullshit you don't want to hear about and we like her
Really can’t trust a senior woman that sports a nose ring 😱 (but I will try your recipe)😄

Oh my, now I'm hungry. I have my dinner planned, for today...but oh tomorrow. Lol. Ty. Thumbs up and subscribed.
great looking dinner I have to try this thanks terry
I'am short all so..... Love how you put this all together for us just getting are New Pot thanks.. Is this a 6qt or a 8qt ??
Might want to put the seasonings in after the broth so the seasonings don't all get rinsed off the meet. Also, how do you prevent the vegetables from becoming overcooked?

Other videos say saute the onions after browning the meat to deglaze the bottom of the pan.
Like the idea of breaking the roast up into its "natural" chunks. Helps determine the direction of the grain in each piece for cutting since in a chuck the grain seems to run all over the place and is difficult to read.

Really amazing, great presentation-etc...hmm R U able to do the same meal "keto" friendly "...? Keep up the fantastic efforts......love Mike
This food is very nice but how much liter is that?😊
I found it way easier to not sauté in the pot, just use a pan. Pots too deep just a pain.
I would not keep the potatoes in the instant pot for 35 minutes because they will become mushy.
Great recipe , I always add 2 lbs of carrots =)

Actually, British and Irish natives just call it wooster sauce..
Actually it's pronounced whatsthishere sauce
@AlergicToSnow Roflmbo xDDDD
Woostasheersheersire sauce.
Looks awesome, thank you for the video!

Yummy! Now I am sooooooo hungry.
2/3 full maximum?
😁😁😁😁🤔🤔🤔😘👍👍👍👍👍👍👍📣📣
Vraiment c'est fantastique
جميل جدا مع الثوابل الحارة
i get so excited when I see my Caucasian counterparts going in on seasoning
I'm going to try this with a venison roast...
How many cups?
What's the meat button for? What happens if you push the meat button instead of pressure cook?
Think it's better saute onion after chuck roast in the meat juice
yes, and then deglaze the bottom of the pot to pick up all that flavor.
Thank you your a doll.
Thanks for the recipe!
That’s way to long to cook the veggies. Do the meat first then when it is resting cook veggies for 6 minutes in the meats juices.
please don't bang the tongs on the pot rim... you can damage the rim and the cooker won't pressurize.
No, the IP is a very heavy gauge SS the tongs would dent first.
MetaView7 You would break the tongs before you damage the rim of the instant pot. The pot is heavy gauge steel.
Looking yummy.
Nice video thanks for posting. Please get a mic so we don't have to listen to the camera operator breathing.
that looked perfect!
Ok shorty,u did it.
If I were to go on a dating site, I would ask for a lady to show up with a Instapot and a 12pk.
I’m trying this out tonight
What is the reason for a natural release of the instant pot?
Traci Vosberg the natural pressure release allows for a longer cooking time which is helpful in cooking meat dishes, giving more tenderness to the meat
natural pressure release keeps the moisture in the meat instead of out the spout. Meat should always have NPR.
YUM!
What is the value of browning the roast?
Improves the flavor of the meat tremendously to brown it before cooking
Adds a richer flavor to the gravy.
Great video i did think you were going to need a larger pot how were the veg, 10 minutes in my cooker and they are done
Which size (quarts) Instant Pot are you using?
Looks like a V2 6 qt
Nice video...
استانستيل 👍
Shouldn't you put that ADT sign on the outside of your home so that potential burglars know that you have an alarm system?
Hi. Were your veggies over cooked?
The potato where soft but not so much.
Nonya Bness I thought so too. It would turn into meat chowder at this point lol. My instapot cook potatoes through and through in 12mins. I bought the late 2017 walmart model so I think thats why the cook time might be different.

Hi Tammy “Stool” Cruise.
It says she's staring but I didn't see her stare at all
how big is the cooker
It is a 6qt.
looks very good.
Veggies come out mushy?
Meat looks good and gravy but the veg looks mushy...
What size is your IP?
It is a 6qt.
Thanks. Mine too.
was this a six quart or an eight quart? mine is a six quart.
Filled to the rim... it is a 6 qt
why no videos in a year?
nice job on the pot roast
:-)
How do you market gravy in the cooker after cooking turkey
Lose the nose ring.
Lose the obnoxious attitude.
Love the obnoxious nose ring...mooo
Stupid nose ring make you dirty not sterile
Nose ring looks good. Some people are just cranky fucks
