      First credit should go to the writer Biplab Goswami who wrote the story

      @@ramakrishna9041 the credit should go to all 3 of them. The writer, the director and the producer. Movie making is not one man's job it's collective effort of everyone.

      @@Raul-vt9oz I didn't say that credit shouldn't be given to Kiran Rao. I just said that the first credit should go to the writer who has written the story, because without a story there is no movie only right? Most people don't even recognize the writer, that's really sad.

    Finally someone said it. A movie doesnt need a message. It just needs to be good story telling.

    Brilliant Baddy. The icing on the cake is the final comment from Kiran Rao that it was fun for her. Baddy’s brilliance is that his every interaction is cherished by the interviewee and he makes it fun for them vs a chore they need to go through for promotion. That’s his unique value prop.

    Kiran Rao shows a lot of promise to me, who is a huge fan of serious cinema! But, as a woman myself it is not easy to break in to the industry especially as a director, women are expected to work twice as hard to get twice as less, but women are gifted, only they could conform to all these expectations! May be, a little bit more grounded might give her a huge leap, not that she is wrong, it might help!

    • @StDeacon
      @StDeacon 4 месяца назад +1

      "Women are expected to work twice as hard to get half as much," lol, I hope you meant it as a joke. We have seen actresses who don't even deliver their lines properly receiving crores in salary, while men like Kota Srinivasa Rao, Nana Patekar, and Naseeruddin Shah, who possess abundant talent, earn just a fraction of that.
      I dont want to name one actress but its easy to figure out, she was one of the top in telugu and did well in tamil too. she minted atleast 50 cr in these industry in a decade period, but she still doesn`t speak the language on stage.
      Regarding female directors in the industry, I recall A.R. Murugadoss stating in this channel`s interview that he deliberately hired female assistants to support them. However, he observed that many of these women would eventually marry and leave the industry. He expressed regret over this, mentioning that if those positions had been offered to men, they would have been utilized more effectively.
      The success rate in the industry is approximately 2 or 3 percent. The challenges women face are also encountered by men, who do not have the immediate backup option of marriage.

    • @vallabhiezhilarasan5642
      @vallabhiezhilarasan5642 4 месяца назад

      @@StDeacon Regarding actresses, yes they earn disproportionally and get too much fame. But do you know of any actress who has had a happy married life? The industry is full of extremes something ordinary people can not handle!

    • @StDeacon
      @StDeacon 4 месяца назад +1

      @@vallabhiezhilarasan5642 there are women like ramya krishnan, kajal etc., who seem to be in good marriages. I just wanted to say that anyone thinking that women are at disadvantage in film industry is incorrect. also claim that women are expected to work double for half is also incorrect.
      An actor like Nani ,vijay sethupathi ot Raviteja might have taken a decade to see 1 cr remuneration or make people to call them star.
      Where as women, who play almost irrelavant roles in the movie reach both the targets in 2-3 movies time. it is just cause they are seen romancing the main lead on screen.

    I wish they had retained the boat song. In the movie, the character arc of Phool wasn't that convincing b'coz the film stopped caring for her character after the set-up. It is understable that today's audience would h've appreciated a reserved/naive woman character less but I didn't felt much for her nd her final transformation wasn't fleshed out convincely. Also, due to this the whole love story part felt one-sided; would h've appreciated if they had gone with a duet version of Sajni song, at least.
