Dad has pneumonia and they put him on 5 days of amoxicillin and azitromycin but that didn’t fully stop the fever and the infection came raging back. Now they started 10 day of levofloxacin and I’m praying this works. It’s really knocked him hard.
@@rainycloud111 Thats quite a while ago now but I do remember it. It was a particularly stressful time in my life but I started getting vitiligo on the back my neck and the side of the temples. Small discolored patched that seemed to be growing in size. I actually took a Tyrosine supplement (My Dad had a health food store and I think I might have read Tyrosine was required to form Melanin) and I remember sitting under a bulb lamp for about 15 minutes close to those areas, for perhaps two weeks and sure enough the patches went back to normal. Of course I can't definitively say that is what cured it but I was very happy that it went away and hasn't been back since.

I hate these compounds. Ruined my life adverse reaction is rough as heck but I had discitis I only wish I had used a different antibiotic very naive around these antibiotics. And what makes it worse I was prescribed it with out having a culture via bloods, and biopsy, I'm so angrey with the neglagance of the HNS in uk.
Awesome video. Only one add on. Isn't the reason why we don't use moxifloxacin in UTIs the fact that it simply doesn't work? Because the elimination through kidneys is not enough? That's why it is not recommended usually.
I am disabled by Fluoroquinolones (3 pills only !) since three years, sitting in a Wheelchair and unable to tolerate most medications. I am socially isolated and almost have no life thanks to fluoroquinolones.
I'm also suffering greatly from Fluoroquinolone Toxicity for the last 15 years. This is supposedly rare but the tens of thousands of people who suffer from these side effects would disagree. This doesn't include the potential link these drugs have to many different "autoimmune " diseases such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, gulf war syndrome, ibs, crohn's and many others. Even worse is that most of us were prescribed these for minor infections where a safer drug would have worked
Jeff Camsell I developed severe, sensory motor polyneuropathy after taking ciprofloxacin for a mild UTI. I now wear braces to walk and am likely going to be in a wheelchair before long. First symptom was stiffness in ankles and my reflexes disappeared. I was a runner and was very fit. This drug ruined my life. Please stop with the "science" and look at the results of prescribing a risky drug that literally kills an ant with a sledgehammer. And "some" nervous system reactions?!? You must be kidding.

One biopsy no cultures. But still sent me home with cipro and floxed me. No black box warning no telling me these are dangerous is crazy.
@@alexisaac1554 Take my case : "suspected UTI". All the tests came out negative. He was sure I had no infection whatsoever, but he prescribed me a FQ, "just in case", to be sure...floxed at 30 years old, and in the best physical shape of my life.
I have Enterococcus Faecalis prostatitis, I was given Cipro and after 7 days of it I took one dosage of Moxifloxacine, although cipro didn’t do anything when Moxi kicked in after 1-2 hours of taking I had nausea, then I stood up and I was fainting until I couldn’t see anything and very loud ringing to my ears and from then my nervous system acts weird I nervous all the time! What did I broke I think my mood is messed up from them
Ciprofloxacin is often paired with a corticosteroid to reduce the immune response. So the drops may contain both drugs and could be prescribed in the case of allergy, though there are better ways to treat allergies affecting the eyes.
@@jintygm How kind of them to combine a fluoroquinolone with a steroid, feels like both my achilles are going to rupture for the past 5 weeks. And severe peripheral neuropathy, but at least 600mg gabapentin a day stops it.
Here’s a bit of good info, these quinolone (if given to anyone withdrawing from benzodiazepines)antibiotics, will make the withdrawal worse as it effects the same receptors)
All drugs have side effects and prescribing physicians assess risk vs. harm for every patient. This is bad advice. You are telling someone with an infection that only this class of drug works (or is the only one available) not to take it? Even though the side effect of not taking it is death? I know someone who almost died because they took a baby aspirin (80mg).....should everyone never take aspirin because of my friend’s experience?
@@bartwilson2513 You really need to look into this class of drugs. Around 8 Black Box warnings from FDA !!! Only to be used in life or death situations when all others have been tried. Cipro is a failed Chemo drug. Highly toxic. Have a look on You tube at Rx PillD or on Facebook groups for Fluoroquinolone Toxicity/damage and tell the millions worldwide whose lives have been shattered that they should still have taken them. Oh that includes Doctors. Check out Dr Ghalili.
Also the EAR DROPS DID THIS TO ME! The stupid white coats will gaslight you saying you're crazy because the FDA hasn't blackboxed ear drops (yet). They will refuse gabapentin and make you literally insane with neuropathy so severe that it feels like your hands and feet are on fire. I had to go to the street for GABAPENTIN!

Update: The Levofloxacin seems to have worked well. The fever has stopped on day 4/10 and hasn't been there for 5 days since he finished the course.

Taking fluoroquinolones it's like playing Russian roulette. Never take these kind of drugs unless it's a life or death situation.
I took them because of kidney infections. I recovered completely. My infection might come from my crown because I don't have other diseases.

Why ciproflaxin eye drops used in redness eye issues sometimes caused by allergy, what is the mechanism there...

Never ever take a Fluoroquinolone will a steroid or NSAID. It is a horrendous combination.
