Love this series. I am now retired from medicine but life would have been much easier when I went through Med school if these videos has been around then. You guys ...and gals are lucky !
You are doing an amazing job, Dr. Roger. I'm a med student and I have a Pharm test in few days, and your video covered everything in few minutes what my boring textbook did in 6 pages! Keep up the good work! Keep making amazing videos like this to help millions of students like me! God Bless you!
all of his videos are gold, got me an A in physiology - supplement them with class powerpoints and you get much more for your exorbitant med school tuition.
These are the kind of videos med students are looking for, especially for Pharm. Logical explanation, short, and to the point. There is nothing really good for pharm out there that I have seen, like this is. Just wish there were more.
Omg I understand this so much better now. My teacher didn’t even explain any of this through 3 hours of lecture then I watch this 11 minute video and it makes so much more sense
I simply love your videos doctor. It's perfectly and clearly explained it helped me a lot. That'd be great if you could make videos about the other groups of AB , thank you!
My test tomorrow will be a walk over😍, I'm just from watching the Cephalosporins video, and I can't wait for the test and the exam next Month. Thank you MedCram💯👏
I was giving penicillin seem i was born..for my throat they use the nurse injection.. laringitis i couldn't talk..so until today when I get sick..it help me..
For the bacteria that developed a resistance to Methicilin (MRSA), would It be then appropriate to use a fifth generation Cephalosporin as an antibiotic ? ( Maybe Clinda is one of them ?) And also, I see that different antibiotics can have a bactericidal effect on the same kind of bacteries; as an example both of Aminopenicillin and Extended spectrum penicillin work against skin flora (G+), how can I choose the appropriate one for the treatment? Thanks for all your explanations!
My question is this,I forgot to ask other persons on videos before, but now I remember, I will ask now,I am a elderly person and I always thought that Penicillin was created by mildew/ fungi on a piece of cheese,I had heard that when I was a little girl, please tell me if that was true 🙋
outstanding. but how would you determine what antibiotic a person needs to kill the bug or infection. i mean, what procedures do the doctors take? i dont know and im going to guess, but do doctors take blood test and look at blood in microscopes and see bacteria? and if they see the bacteria, do they place the different types of antibiotics in the blood to see if they kill the infection that exists? how is it done, its so interesting. i dont want to stop learning
Thank you so much for the great job you do, your videos make me so happy especially when I understand (boring) topics😉 Please more of this great videos. Thank you
See the whole series at www.medcram.com along with other top quality videos including reviews in pulmonary, cardiology, infectious disease, and hematology!
I wonder if bacteria are imune to lower forms of penecillin , basically the rock paper scissor effect , were something that would seem weeker would be able to take the resistant bacteria like paper to rock and so forth .
I took penicillin 2 months ago and it has made me really sick and given me bad neuropathy .. horrible burning all over my body and its getting worse. How is this possible?
What videos teach HOW antibiotics work? This video shows the connection to the bacterial cell and the evolutionary fight/arms race, but what specifically in a bacterial cell is attacked by the medications from a microbiological/chemical level? What video (set) teaches those details? [I'm thinking they would have similar detail to the Covid-19 series]
thanks doctor, very fun and good quality learning video.. cephalosporins would be a great topic, also if u have information about targocid it would be great to explain it to us
I had an injectable pennicillim yesterday, but the color was yellow instead of cloudy white that I've known for the 70years of my life. I question the nurse and she said it was pennicillim. Was it?
Great video, it gave a very nice overview. If you want to improve it, I would recommend being mindful of your handwriting, since for someone to look up the many terms in this video, it's really going to be hard with the scribbles that you use in this video. It's a good idea to take the time to properly write out the words, and maybe use more than one "slide" or page in order to make space for it. This is something I think Khan Academy generally does rather well.

+LeeAvenuePTA Pta Thank you. Yes it appears Timentin was taken off the market for economic reasons (and not safety reasons).

While simplified, I thought Kurtgesagt did a good job of this in a few mins. Here's a start to answer this question.

I had an injectable pennicillim yesterday, but the color was yellow instead of cloudy white that I've known for the 70years of my life. I question the nurse and she said it was pennicillim. Was it?
Injectable pennicillim I reveived yesterday was yellow, not the cloudy milky white I am use to. Did I not get Pennicillim?
