I built a ship that's as big, and is indestructible, it literally takes no damage, and can dish out a ton of damage while simultaneously having good performance. The key is effective shapes.
I'm curious how your revisions will work. With that much armor I can't imagine the combat fuel would last for very long... Also dear god I don't even want to think about trying to land this thing
LOL she is a flagship, so consider her in a similar way to the sevestapol, although numerous revisions have been made already with more to follow. I am starting a new campaign with this at the helm.
Yeah IMHO carrier planes are much better utilized by sending the planes themselves to sudden strikes with bombs or rockets. As opposed to putting the carrier itself in battle. Following that, a carrier can be stripped down to its bare essentials if it's not going to see combat. Remove all weapons, armor and extra crew/equipment. Turn it into a flying airstrip going at 300 km/h.
@@Madsy9 That's my use of the carriers, I prefer to have a pair of modified Longbows in the back row, Interceptors are for ... intercepting missiles. Fighter-bombers are for hitting garrisons with the biggest bombs I have in stock.
@@Madsy9 agree. Its cool to have battlefortress what super powerful, fill all roles (except ones for fast ships ofc) and can beat everything alone, but it will be extremely ineffective and costly. And pain to repair. For example my carriers have 4 T-7, big fuel tank and they cost less then 12k.

Anyone else notice how aircraft when you launch them will explode your carrier? I attempted a battle carrier like this and they chunked my ship. Beware, launching aircraft is the ultimate weapon. Best case they destroy your flight deck, worst case they explode your ammo. I hope this bug gets fixed eventually, my multi-deck carriers are suffering.
With aircraft up top the trick is to boost down while launching. Honestly don't recommend large battle carriers. Refueling just takes too long and it's too risky to put into battle, also a large target for missiles and bombs.
Multideck is a whole new thing in itself, but no bug! The planes have a collision model as soon as you press X to start them, and they will slightly go up after launch. I myself built a multideck but it cant be too densely packed, my solution to do 5 of the small hull squares as a distance between the decks.
How does it work? Do I Have to design those ships before I launch the campaign or can I build ships on my own within the campaign. Till yet I could only buy finished ships in the campaign. =)
@@evilbob3351 If you design a custom ship in the Ship Works you can buy them as part of your starting fleet at the beginning of the campaign. Serious question: How on earth do you manage to build things when your mouse keeps overshooting what you want to click? Edit: Good video though. Definitely gives some ideas for design concepts that are effective.
If you have a mouse that has software, turn the polling rate down to around 125. Fixed the random teleporting of my cursor. It's a bug that should get fixed though
@@liesdamnlies3372 oh darn that's a shame. I have mine on 125 tick rate and 800 dpi. It's still faster than desktop 800dpi but it feels ok. It's one of the most complained about issues though so hopefully it gets fixed quickly because this game is a gem!
bah thats nothing i build a dreadnought thats 3-4 times bigger and has at least 3 times as many guns if not more (tons of rapid fire twin turrets and miniguns for anti-missile/anti-aircraft along with a whole bunch of 6-barrel heavy turrets) i also gave my project double layered armor for extra protection so its quite slow but shoots enough to kill my FPS from 60 to about 15-20 hehe
A battlecarrier? Cool, but are you sure you're British? Brits are supposed to know better with their naval history. What's the point of even having the planes if you can win a straight fight? I can easily see the same ship but with no planes and only one more heavy turret, plus 37mm point defenses taking out the monster, especially since it loses engines every two seconds. Those NK engines, btw, might work better mounted on the ships interior instead of exposed. I build all my ships that way for campaign- just flying armored bricks with maybe one or two lifter engines barely peeking out. If I get an engine hit, it's because of AP rounds 99% of the time.
why all ships in this game look like small drones or boxes? not sure how to appreciate these ships, dont know if they are omidirectional, is it a pure side view? where is cockpit?
So this game is basically a side scroll shooter where tinny pixelated flying plates do combat as the screen shakes none stop. Unless it’s $10, no thanks.
LOL, wait till you see the actual user interface (also called the game itself) with all its manual dials and knobs. Best indie game of recent years but yeah - enough to give some a stroke...
This is just the battle screen. The interface is full of equipment and is insane in the level of detail. For example the radar will tell you where enemies are.... But since you send out transmissions...the enemy can see you too. So often is best to leave off. You can use the rest of tools + math +protractor and pencil and ruler to find the bearing and location of any target.
