Its hard to believe that in the face of such destruction and devastation and death, there is still such natural beauty surrounding it all. A raging river now clam reflecting the sky so blue, the fall colors of the trees in full bloom and the people going about cleaning up trying to rebuilding their lives that has been suddenly washed away. They will build it back, they will, past memory's will never be forgotten, but the future can lay hold to hope for those still yet to come.

As I watch this video I am reminded how quickly life can change. Just about a little over a week before this disaster hit life was filled with sunshine. People sitting on their porches in the autumn day and watching the river. I am deeply saddened to know that many lost their life in this horror. I remember the many vacations I spent in the mountains…finding peace there. My vision is now altered and I am reminded that nothing on this earth lasts forever. I planned to move to the mountains at one point and actually looked in these areas to find something. I failed to find what I was looking for and now feel if I had succeeded I would be sitting in the same condition as these people. I ask all of the people around the world to pray for everyone in every area destroyed by the weight of water. A place I lived in when I was younger went through a storm that caused massive amount of rain to fall, and the creek overflowed over the top of the bridge and into the flatter sections of land. I walked down to look at what was happening and realized that just one step in the wrong direction would send you into the water and drown you. The water was so swift. We must never forget to thank the Lord for a roof over our heads…a warm bed to sleep in…food on our table and the presence of our family around us.
This disaster has saddened me so much. I believe it will be years before things can be rebuilt. Please do what you can for everyone who lost all and remember to be kind and loving to them.

In spite of damage like this through much of Western North Carolina, and families living g in tents because their homes were destroyed, they are getting little, help from the State or Federal Government. Winter is coming on, and families living in tents will freeze. It is estimated that electricity will not be fully restored in some of these areas until May or June, 2025. It’s 5 weeks out and I can’t understand why FEMA don’t sent in the Army Corps of Engineers to build temporary roads and temporary bridges to help get food and other supplies to these communities that are still shut off from the outside world. The technology is there that the Corps of Engineers coil set steel towers and get electricity back to the areas quickly. FEMA may be here somewhere, but apparently are not helping people with a trailer to, live in temporarily as winter approaches. Yes this is rugged country, but are they going to let people try to live through winter in a tent. Everybody needs to contact their legislators and tell them to get something done.

How could I be any more truthful? I am working my tail off to bring awareness to our community. These videos take a lot of work and heartbreak. I live in Green Mountain right next to Relief. It's brutal.

The first mass extinction event on earth, that killed most living things, happened 445 million years ago.
Followed by three more, including two ice ages.
Why do you want to believe that climate change is because of humans?

RIP The warning came too late, the help did not come or too late. Accountability is necessary. As I see it from over the Pond.

It’s hard to conceive that the storm went so far inland……..I’m sure the people of NC were prepared for what they Normally get. This was Biblical.

There're people who've died in these sundown towns - just because of their sin color. The judgement will "NOT" abort. Sad though, people still won't repent & correct their evils.
