I grabbed a 93 cheyenne last summer for $600.. 173,000 miles, excellent shape, didnt run for 3 years. Fired it up after a few cranks and drove it 25 miles home.. been on the road every day.
Shoot i got a 1975 c10 suburban was in woods an backyard for years just flushed tank changed filters an bam. But the rott. Yours is so so much better. Thanks for sharing in this adventure. Love peace and axle grease brother.
You and me both brother. I live near Pittsburgh and we have the exact same issue around here. Anyone that has one that's anywhere near clean wants an exorbitant amount of money for it. One of those, "I know what I have," deals...
Moved from NY to SC and am amazed at the difference in cars...zero rust but faded paint also haven't climbed a hill in 5 years!! Great place to pick up solid units
For me was when he said do I have any gas n he turns and hold and be hold a gas container, I go back in the video to see if the can was there or he placed it just to do the question.
Isaac, you should consider getting a dealer tag that way you can swap it to whichever vehicle you want to drive that day. That way you can keep them all relatively fresh and don't have to tag and insure them all.
im glad here in arizona mice are not much of a problem, I have an 86 Cherokee thats been sitting for just as long and it looks the same as the day I parked it
My Dad used to have one of these. Late 70's. Can't remember exact year. I still remember the smell of it. Smelled like an old Chevy, mixed with paint and mineral spirits because it was his work truck, haha. Good shit.
I have my 78 Chevy K5 Blazer and I wouldn’t take for that thing. It’s a great truck and I drive it all the time and it’s got a lift kit and 32 11.50 tires and a np203 transfer with an automatic transmission
I live in the mountains of NC. Keeping mice out of the AC/Heat system is a constant battle in winter. Last winter, a momma mouse made a nest in my wife's Highlander air blower motor. She started it up one morning and heard a crunch noise when she turned on the defrost. She drove it to the store and then home an parked it. Didn't tell me about the noise. We went on a trip for a few days in a different vehicle. When we got back I started it up to warm it up. I turned on the defrost. The smell about knocked me out. I had to remove the blower and the mouse guts were all mangled up in the fan. I tossed the fan and installed a new one. Cleaned up the vents the best I could. It took a few months for the stink to go away.
Looks like all it needs is a set of tires and tags and it's back on the road. Though I would get rid of that Edelbrock carb for a nice squarebore Holley of about 550-575cfm. And then I'd manual swap it. If I needed a 4-door SUV I'd look long and hard at this very vintage of Suburban! Skookum as frig, wah
She's a beautiful beast! My uncle had/has a wife and 3 kids (now all grown up) and he use to buy a brand new Suburban every 2 years for his business. Everytime I see one of these Suburban it brings back good childhood memories.
Put some fresh gas and new fuel filter and wires and plugs ..basicley a full tune up and the suburban will run and drive like a new car.anyways it sucks losing a freund for sure but at least ya got some things to remind you of him ..godbless and stay safe ....✌️🤘
My grandfather had one like this but it was diesel and silver and blue in color. I used to love messing around in it when I was younger. Also liked that thing. Kinda wish I had it now.
When you opened the door I couldn't believe how good a shape the seat & dash pad were in. You wouldn't find it like that out here in the southwest. I know how bad those mice can be.
Drive one of these when I was a grounds worker at my old hs I was 17. Got into a lot of trouble and it got me out of a lot of muddy situations !!! Should be Official C&C toy hauler!!!
My dad used to have a 1989 blazer. it was his primary vehicle for around 15 years. i only rode in it once, but it was pretty nice to ride in. he doesn't have it anymore (unfortunately) it was used once a week for bringing trash to the dump for about 10 years, broke down, then sat for about 5 years. he gave it to a friend of his (for reasons I can't list on youtube) and is supposedly driving around in florida.
You have to bleed that little tubing u put in.. it will go up and down all you have too do is open line a little bit up by gauge and get oil up to gauge. Your also going to have to take heater box out and clean mice house out of heater box. Which means youll have to discharge AC system..It will never go away that smell until u do this. Its a Sweet Suburban I would fix it up and drive her...
Wow, Congrats, We had an 83... 3/4 Ton with a 1 Ton suspension, (custom factory ordered) Trim on the sides, custom front brush guard & winch, It was a doozy....

I love the older bodies on the suburbans, broncos and blazers. Truck like really good for its age and considering how long it's been sitting. Damn mice really messed up the interior tho. Can't wait to see the project take off.
Dude, that thing is a total dream find, not terrible. Absolutely gorgeous 😍 I would never find anything like that in my area. (Northern Ontario Canada)
That takes me back to high school when I worked on a Survey Crew. We had several suburbans of that vintage we used for surveying. Of course back then, they were still almost new. We beat the hell out of those things. Ours had three speeds trans with a granny gear. Learned to drive a stick in them. This was all back in the late 80s.
Got an 84 gmc suburban just like it. 3/4 ton diesel sierra classic. Was my dads, I was a little kid riding in the thing. Been restoring it and customizing it. Now its turbo charged with a 6" lift, and its a beast. Love these old suburbans. Wow thats a clean Dash!
Love it i have a 73 c10 custom deluxe can't wait to see more on this truck she is a keeper my dad had a 89 GMC suburban with 4 wheel drive could not get it stuck even when we had a trailer with a car on it we still got out of the mud 😂
Ike, when I was a kid we played a prank on my uncle amd his brand new to him 87 short bed chevy we tossed all kinds of toads into his new truck. The next day he gets in amd toads jump out at him Except the one that got up onto the heater core. He said he about threw up cause it smelled so bad. Thankyou for this episode it brought back memories. Sorry about the smell.
Really makes me miss driving my square suburban. I bought it as my first truck and dailyed it for about two years. It was a clean southern truck, red/black two tone with the red interior. People say the TBI trucks are gutless but it never gave me an issue, and always started first try no matter how cold. I got rear ended on the way home from school by a distracted driver in an F-150 and that totaled it. I still have it, it's mechanically perfect, I start it and move it around the yard once a month or so. I'm gonna hold onto it until I can find a new body/frame to inherit it's identity. Other than the damage to the body and frame, not a single piece of trim, glass or mechanical components were broken.
Isaac you have been blessed to have a great friend leave you all his stuff God Bless you those suburbans are truly beautiful and have alot of room in them , put up a video of you cleaning it out and doing bodywork on it , great video keep up the great work 🔥💯💪🏼👍👍🙏🙏✌
If this was in Tucson every single one of those vehicles would be a skeleton on blocks by now, boats/trailers wouldve been stolen, every window smashed and a camp of bums would be squatting in the bus. Wish i could live in a place with less tweakers and crime like you Ike.
I'm finishing up an 88 s10 right now and would love to find a Suburban like this for my next project. Definitely a dream truck right there. They are so hard to find in my area.
The oil line changing anthem came on and I immediately thought "oh hey, it's the Ron Pratt towing theme song" haha
Man i was so confused, I thought my phone was freaking out.
same, i was so confused!
I knew it was from somewhere 😂😂
I actually paused the video to figure out what was happening. It's cool to have a few Ron Pratt fans here.
I thought I was losing it for a sec. 😂😂
As soon as you turned on the heat I knew what was coming. I started laughing because I've been in that same situation many times.
yep LOL thats a smell thats hard to get rid of
