I really enjoyed this video! One thing about hair length that it actually has to do with styling, is that too much scrunching when manipulating the hair, causes unnecessary shrinkage. I actually avoid it. If one’s hair is already curly by nature, it doesn’t need to be encouraged to curl. It does it on its own. I “gained” a few centimeters when combing my hair with cream and gel and letting it curl on its own. Unless what you are looking for is more volume. And even if that is the case, after the hair drys you can fluff up the roots and release any hair from being too attached to the scalp. Only straight hair would not fluff up.

I am glad you were able to grow your curls. The tips are really good!
My biggest problem was also the breakage because I did not know how to treat curly hair. After two years of curl care I now have denser hair but also the ends are healthier and I am not afraid to cut it anymore, as my hair seems to actually grow.

I absolutely love your videos. I've been struggling for the longest with my hair being overmoisturized as well as my ends constantly thinning out. I've been troubleshooting and trying different products but I think you make a good point about possibly washing your hair more and being more diligent with trimming one's split ends more impacting scalp care and length. Such a through but easy to follow video ❤.

Thanks a lot for this video. Besides Manes by Mell you are the best in explaining, testing, showing and opening the door to a finally healthy curly hair world. I really appreciate your honesty, etc. What you mentioned was patience😂Well, I wouldn't go so far to call it my first or second name, but in the end you are right. Hair doesn't grow long overnight. What helps me is every night I massage 100% Aloe Vera Gel on / in my scalp and squidge it in the lenghts and ends. Afterwards I put my silk bonnet on and go to bed. I do this now since 4 or 5 weeks really every single evening and call me crazy, bjt I could swear my roots are getting stronger and denser and even my unloved receding hairline is getting less. But the tip with the oil before washing, this was new for me so I will try it starting Sunday. This is my taking really care of my curls day, using felt 10 products😂. I have coloured hair also, so they need a little more support. But at least, I can see that they grow in a good healthy way, even when the colour is then grey again. But at least I can see a serious progress. Best from Duesseldorf 😍😘👍🥳🥂🍾💃🏽

I've always been a curly girl. I loved and embraced my hair for my whole life. I just rocked the virgin curls, and only straightened it on special occasions like weddings or parties. I've tried everything under the sun, all the growth tips. The only things that consistently helped was oiling my scalp, protective styling, deep conditioning every wash and using bond building treatments once a month. My hair is very fine, and I also have PCOS so I shed a lot. That said, it does grow the average amount. With all this I can get my hair very healthy and strong, but it never gets past bra-strap length. I'm out of tips to try, I've done LCO, CGM, Ayurveda, no brushes, inversion method, rice water, biotin, msm (which did make it grow fast but it all fell out after I stopped). I've just decided its best to embrace short hair

If you struggle with anxiety or something else that's probably why you also shed a lot. What's helped alleviate my PCOS is a lot of protein and strength and weight training.

Since starting my curly hair journey, I can definitely see the new growth. The new hair is slowly growing out, forming its natural curl pattern. The ends are straighter from the mechanical damage I did from pulling my hair back all the time. I think using a scalp scrubber is very helpful in stimulating the scalp which can cause hair growth. Makes me wonder if any of the oils, serums and such really helps hair growth or is it simply the act of stimulating the scalp?? 🤔 love your videos and thank you for all your help with my journey ❤😊

My hair looks a lot healthier since I removed myself from a high stress environment. The protein treatment also helped. I still have to make some changes, like the satin pillowcase, but it has improved a lot. Thank you for your video.

Very interesting video, obviously applies to all types of hair straight or curly. I wash my hair once a week, and I do get an itchy scalp, especially in this hot humid weather. Perhaps I should shampoo my hair a lot more often.
I thoroughly agree with your comments on the best nutrition you can have will greatly help hair growth and the less stress you have can really help.
I’ve just noticed how close you are to 20k . Love Mama 🦆

I also watch the blow out professor here on RUclips. He sited the study that everyone thinks proves rosemary oil causes hair growth. The study actually said between rogaine and rosemary oil, they didn’t see a difference. This doesn’t mean rosemary helps with hair growth. There are many other factors that could be true, maybe rogaine didn’t help these people in general, maybe they didn’t wait long enough Etc. I’m learning how studies really don’t always prove what people say they do. So take studies with a grain of salt.

Hey Sophie, I relate so much to rhis with you. i dreamed of long hair since i was a child, it never got past my.shoulders really without severe damage because like many curlies
...i abused my curls. brushes them dry you know all the deadly sins 😂. Ive been on my journey since 2019 and I'm finally seeing longer curls, pulled straight it goes to my horizontal bra strap, and shrunk its below my shoulders now, losing about 5 inches of length. its the first time ive had beautiful naturally curly and LONG ish hair. Iv got long hair, im hoping to get my dried length to my bra strap. You, Manes by Mell, Bianca Renée, and many other curlies have also helped along my way. i want to make the curly hair world more accessible for disabled people. My hair is curly but looser at the left front, I am mega insecure about it but i wont give up as the good hair days out weigh all the bad ones. I want to make content about curly hqir care and the many adapted methods ive created using popular methods with a more mindful approach to hand issues. I have a blue print design for a special brush but i dont think i have enough influence to get it made. Its very important for me to make curl care accessible, I review products this way. I don't want to be like famous but i do want to help other curly haired folks who may have difficulty with the care side of it
