    Love the flip styling tips. I have extremely fine hair that likes to stay flat to the scalp at the root but wasn’t sure how to address that back section. 90% of my styling time is trying to get all of my hair up and off of my scalp. Can’t wait to try it. Chef’s kiss.

      @@sophiemariecurly tried it on a refresh on a wash day. As with every experiment, you have to have a contingency for failure and I wash at the end of the day.😉. It worked perfectly. I have been looking forever for a routine that would be quick, cover my scalp and cowlick, and give me volume at the root. Took me a fraction of the time and I’ll be doing it for a full style from now on.

    If you have a shorter square scarf;cover your head and tie under your chin from the front, it’s much easier than the long scarf with clothing changes etc . Classy stores always had them in change rooms to protect their product. xx S. ps I like the twisting idea at the front when tying your hair up as my hair is thin at top but sides are full of volume curls. 😊

      Katie, are you putting the smoothest, finished side of your scarf against your hair, and the rougher back side towards the outside, against your pillow? Basically, the opposite way that you would wear the scarf if it was an accessory for daytime. That way your curls slide around inside the scarf and stay more defined. Then, you can use it along with a silk or satin pillow case, so the scarf can also slide on the pillow and not spin around your head!

    another hairstyle that prevents curls from being crushed: gather your hair at the bottom of your head and gently twist and form a loose bun. once most of the length is in the bun, clip the ends to the hair at the back of your head using an alligator clip. if you have any shorter front pieces, use another clip to pin them up (i like flat clips). this style preserves curls and doesn’t crush them. also, there aren’t any painful spots from increased tension.

    These r great hacks . I noticed that when u are using the comb to come out the clumps you are doing it like halfway down and not starting from the roots is that correct? I also noticed that the scarves that you have on Amazon it seems are satin and not silk does that matter? Do you have a link to purchase them through the Amazon America

    • @sophiemariecurly
      @sophiemariecurly  Год назад +3

      Thank you :)! Yes with the combing i don't start directly at the root as I dont want to pull my hair or cause too much breakage, I've found that starting a little further down for me reduces tugging. I think silk and satin work very similarly for me personally. I have a mix of silk and satin scarves scrunchies and pillow cases and I can never tell the difference. If you search in amazon for silk or satin scarf and filter by reviews it will show you the best quality ones available in your region i think xxx

    I love the tips, Curlfriend! I'm trying to find the silk beanie!
    My question is that I have oily hair and have to wash every day. I don't wash on weekends and a cap is my friend if I go anywhere lol.
    I don't use product and only dry my bangs for work. I let the rest of my hair dry naturally, which produces some great long curls. I seriously cannot go to work without washing my hair. Any tips for us oily girls?

      Yay! thanks so much!! I have used a dry shampoo before which worked so well on my curls. I don't use it much though as mine don't get too greasy. It's called the Umberto Giannini Scalp Refresh anti-dandruff dry shampoo! on their website I have a discount code if you end up ever getting it. Its SOPHIEMARIE20 😊

      @@sophiemariecurly Thank you! Looking for it now. I've never tried a dry shampoo (too old school haha). But something's gotta give. Love your vids, definitely a subscriber. Going to try the silk shirt idea. Because who really needs a reason to wear silk... 🤣

    I don’t like my face on cotton pillowcases after using a satin one at home. I feel like the pillowcase is grabbing my skin and stretching it, adding more wrinkles. I like the idea of putting a scarf over my head before dressing.

      Yes I actually forgot to mention in the video that my skin also dramatically improved after switching to silk and satin!

    Hi why the comb from second hack has double crossed teeth? what is the purpose ?

    • @sophiemariecurly
      @sophiemariecurly  Год назад

      That’s just a good one as it has long teeth so it gets into the root easily to shake it up and unclump if any curls got stuck

    Sadly, if I get a comb I have ruined my hair and the frizz happens… my hair style my be the reason and sadly number two only makes me curls frizz open. 😭

    One question please. Why have I lost my curls? Maybe the fact that I was using every day almost for one month a straightener destroyed my curls? Im so nervous. How will I return to my curls? Help me please 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️❤️❤️
