I do normally but these feet have been updated and have a texture underneath instead of being smooth so I just degreased them and used them as they are

Thanks for that info on lithium batteries. I think I would of personally gone for a separate Motorhome satnav rather than going across the centre of dash. But as said that my personal idea My solar panels are glued down with gluey bond cement stuff ! Wish You all Well

Hi Lorraine, the model number is the video description. It had android auto or apple car play so compatible with all smart phone and also has them as wireless connectivity. The camper satnav is powered by garmin. It has a dab radio but it don’t make your brew in the morning XxTR
Stu That tyre pressure monitor you have on the van if its the one that locks on to the tyre valve stem be careful as the little locking nut welds itself to the tyre valve and you can't get it off as a result you are unable to put pressure into the tyres as the locking nut is in the way. Put some grease on it to prevent it seizing. It happened to us had to take the wheels off and take them to a tyre place to get the valves replaced. 😪

What a great video. We can relate to you. You are not all about trying to sell something to someone that they didn't really want or need. All you are saying is if you do need to change your battery consider lithum. You used the word if and consider. Well done Stu. Also you also mention the weight of the air con and made reference to the weight of power packs. This is so important. All to easy with all these large items to finish up overweight. This is something to always keep in mind if you are 3.500 ton limited. Having spent 25yrs in road haulage this is something very important. I have listened to many you tubers telling us about this and that device but never a mention of the weight. I also loved you use water and fairy liquid to clean the black from the roof. I have always been a fan. Not necessary to use all these expensive items that by the way is more weight to carry. We all use fairy liquid in the kitchen. You 2 are so practical just like we are. Well done for an excellent useful video. Enjoy your forthcoming hols.

So it’s 90 days out of every 180 day rolling. We use an app called Schengen which keeps track of it all for us, we actually got our full 90 days back the day before we left which was pure coincidence
Good choice of battery Stu. Going to get those for my new van and they are getting a good name for themselves. For anyone else struggling to squeeze on solar panels and every mm matters, you could use aluminium angle instead of the proprietary feet.
@@TheRollingRucks Yup. What I've seen others do if drill holes in the base of the angle and when you push it down, the sealant squeezes up through the holes creating a mushroom head a bit like a rivet. Have a great trip you guys

Hello spot on with lithium and solar. We fulltime in our motorhome we went for 700 watts of solar 2x 135 amps of lithium, a 1600 inverter charger and a b to b charger. All wired separately from the motorhome side. We now just use gas for the fridge and heating. We still can't get the batteries below 88% but trying.😂😂
@@TheRollingRucks we use a slow cooker five times a week boil the kettle att least 8 times a day, charge hoover and anything else that has a battery 😂 no Aircon but 3 x fans ( Americans recon moving the air helps ) though we are just comming back through France as Spain was hitting 40 Deg plus. They all differ so hard to say but most will have an slider button on to change from agm to lithium. Failing that check the manual of your charger. Ours is for lead acid only but works perfectly fine as the bms on the battery controls what it allows in, main problem is factory fitted is only about 10 amps

Without any real justification I have always felt the "coachbuilt" style of RV would be less rigid and therefore more rattly over bumps etc and I wondered if converting a Luton-style box van could provide maximum internal space and roof area for solar though requiring a self-build approach. Just thought to ask what aspect of your Crafter did you find smaller than the current RV - sleeping space or daytime room ? thnx

Just had a look at the tyre pressure monitor you have purchased. It only works up to 62psi which is a lot less that the 80psi recommended on my Swift 684. What tyre prrssure do you use on your Swift?
How much extra weight have you added to the van? We are looking at purchasing same van and doing the same upgrade of air con and solar panels. Just worried about the added weight.
5.6kg is our added weight of the solar and 2kg for the mppt. The lithium battery is half the weight of lead acid batteries so they actually cancelled each other out in terms of weight even though we now have 5 times more ah available XxTR

You will just need to check your battery charger. Most of them have a switch that allows you to change their setting from Lead to Lithium. Failing that just check the manufacturers instructions on it. XxTR

Hi Steve I have kept the original in for now. The BMS is handling the split charger, mains and solar very well. I will upgrade this when we are back in the UK to allow faster charging off mains and a stronger DC2DC

Additional benefit of LiFePO4 is aa they discharge they continue to output the full voltage so your pumps don't get slower after use.

We get a lot more space in both sleeping and living space. If we weren’t full time we would have kept the crafter no questions. XxTR

We have the same air conditioning unit as you have are you using it off the lithium battery or do you need electric hook up video really good
Only on electric hook up, our lithium set up would have to be huge to power it XxTR

How much extra weight have you added to the van? We are looking at purchasing same van and doing the same upgrade of air con and solar panels. Just worried about the added weight.
5.6kg is our added weight of the solar and 2kg for the mppt. The lithium battery is half the weight of lead acid batteries so they actually cancelled each other out in terms of weight even though we now have 5 times more ah available XxTR

Can I just change my old battery for a lithium battery without changing anything else? Just old one out new one in its place?
You will just need to check your battery charger. Most of them have a switch that allows you to change their setting from Lead to Lithium. Failing that just check the manufacturers instructions on it. XxTR
Hi great vlog again, can I ask did you compare lithium underseat against others all looking similar to your chosen one, is there differences? All appear to be 230ah but massive variance on price point. Some are virtually double?? And did fogstar give you a discount code 😂 safe travels
Hi Declan, my research found that the under seat batteries were all pretty much the same dimensions. We don’t have a discount code yet but we are hoping to get one shortly. XxTR

@@declanmanning2440 we are a week in and so far it has been absolutely faultless. We will in a few months add an inverter but again my research showed they handle fast discharge equally as well

Out of interest did you have to change the standard mains charger?
Hi Steve I have kept the original in for now. The BMS is handling the split charger, mains and solar very well. I will upgrade this when we are back in the UK to allow faster charging off mains and a stronger DC2DC

@@TheRollingRucks Yes, It's Dave in the Southwest. My wife uses a mobility scooter and the latest news is to convert them to Lithium for better performance and longer.
