PARTS USED IN THIS EPISODE:
As a plumber and pipe fitter I do a lot of work with tubing. His lesson here is really good, and you won’t go far wrong if you follow his directions exactly. And yeah a tubing straightener doesn’t seem worth it, but if you care how your work looks it is the most important tool in the process
Not sure on that power steering reservoir placement, looks like it would wobble around just on idle
You want some better line vs stainless get nickel copper line. It flares and bends easier and doesn't rust either. Also DON'T FORGET THE NUT.
I have never been able to flare a brake line so I am confident that it will not leak. Tommy makes it look easy.
The bench vice mounted flaring tools work really well. They are well worth the $150 they cost. I got taught to make lines at a late age by an even older mechanic, never had one leak using a quality flare.
the production quality of this channel is simply amazing
Dang, gotta get me a brake line bender like that second one Tommy used!
I love the '87 Regal so much!!! It is my favorite car ever made. My favorite truck is the '92 Syclone. I hope they do a Jimmy to Syclone tribute one day.
Paint it purple!!! I had an 84 Regal show car in the early 90's. It was Plum Crazy Purple and that's what I named it...
"Plum Crazy"
I used to watch these when I was like 14 on tv
Dang, I cracked up when he said Bitch Bled.
Check out the welded crash struts @8:29. OMG DaNgEr Will Robinson!
they do some funny technical stuff in these videos, like measuring to 0.928563 decimals with a tape, holding not really straight. end of that tape was bent like one inch at the end too which really matters in that high decimals that he measured.
Those plywood wheel are hot🤣
Hey, they work for if you're doing mock up and you don't have a rotisserie or something that would allow you to bolt the wheel studs to without having tires on your car
Kudos for the "happy trees" Bob Ross reference ;-D
Dumb question but with all that flash rust what do you do before you paint / sandblast? Sand the whole frame and body or sandblast it??
Man I miss my 84 regal limited loved that car!!!
For the money that the front brake kit will cost ya just go with 2WD 1998-2004 Blazer spindles and C6/7 brakes to stop that LS. I have a stock 5.3 swapped into my 1978 El Camino and the stock Blazer set up stops it perfectly fine.
This end flare kit looks like the one to have. All these other
$39.99 junk flare type little kits I se everywhere NEVER work right!!!
BTW, where is this end flare system tool kit available ?
thx
Just a suggestion, a dedicated Full Episode on Big Brake Upgrades?
links to the break lines benders and flaring tools would be nice -_-
Great video and hot two instructions. However, that spoiler looks hideous! ☹
Instead of using nuts and washers to hold the rotor on I use shock bushings
Your tool list is missing in description. I want that flare tool
Flare tool is Matco Master Hydraulic Flare kit Part No. AC72475A. I live and die by it when I make brake lines.
@@jc18137 what about the smaller one?
I am betting the one we use when gasfitting, made by ridged tools, is likely a tenth the cost.
need an AMC javelin update !
Finally!
Overall good episode. However I found myself wanting to listen to Tommy more than Mark. That was because there was more how-to content in Tommy's presentation style. That opening segment in which Mark made those hoses from scratch for example. We basically watched him do it rather than listen and watch him teach HOW to do it. So my suggestion would be to improve on the how-to, for that is why I watch these programs.
These episodes are mostly 5+ years old man
+Lemmy This episode is new(2020).
My dad gifted me a 2005 chevrolet silverado 5.3 vortec and 1 month ago he said he was gonna help me give it some power i am 15 years old and he passed away he got shot frim a lost bullet so now i am working for some money for the truck he was planning on us fixing😢😕
Keep at it. Sorry for your loss, good luck with the truck, make your old man proud and build a ripper!
Good tips on the rotors.
Allot of line flare kits out there that are garbage. Cheap ones ( no quality control) should be banned.
Your getting a 52” drive shaft let’s be honest. Not a 51.9375” the slip yoke has play come on. Content is good but let’s not stretch the reality.
Tommy is Maters lil brother.
Odd timing, I'm doin stainless hoses right now
This video is 5 min in and I’ve seen 6 adds already
Copper brake lines for me
I'd personally go with the brake lines that Crown Performance makes

I wanna see Tommy work on German cars and pernounce it JER MAN
You'd think while the nose was off they would of cleaned & painted it.
Mounting the PS res on a plastic inner fender is a good way to lose PS, and start a fire when it breaks off. Jesus Christ.
COVID19
So sick of the saying "buttoned up" Must be the most used saying in 2020..
