    Thank you SO MUCH for your videos. I spent the last 3 months working on how to correct a drop foot.....nothing worked! When I finally realized (with the help of your videos ) that the problem was spasticity I made amazing progress in only a few days. I am finally confident that I will walk normally again. Thanks again!

    I did the spasticity exercises and got my leg and back unlocked, I thought that I would just walk straight again by just walking, I was very wrong. I was okay for a few days but I caught myself walking the same way, so I had to come back to the channel. Now my hip is getting stronger from the yoga block exercises... thank you again.. you are a blessing..

      I am so glad to read the videos are helping! Keep at it. Repetitions is the name of the game. The more repetitions, the more "automatic" it will become and the less you will have to think about it. Good that you caught yourself and came back to the "fundamentals". This is what it will take :) This video might help you understand the "learning process": ruclips.net/video/HIrSWm70MBo/видео.html

    My first time watching. I am a young physio. I am speechless...wow!! I've seen many videos,but this is the first one I feel spoke to me. I will definitely use these in my rehab. I just love helping CVA patients and this will enable me to up my ways/rehab. Thank you so much.
    And gait re-education is bit of a challenge with some patients especially the ones with hypertonicity. Trying to get them to Weight shift even more challenging...but now I look at it differently.

    🌸💜🌸 Dear Dr. Tara thanks again for a great video. The kneeling and the sit-to-stand from a low position are not so much my cup of tea, having ruined the knees with years of Tennis before the stroke 😂😂🤣🤣 But you are super right with the diagonal cross-exercises and I also do lots of Yoga block stepping/tapping in front of the TV on evenings. You have a great previous video with Yoga block exercises, I still love that.
    My core current daily program since November is to do 3 sets (morning/lunch/evening) of 10 squads, 10 knee lifts, 10 leg backlifts and then nicely stretch with lunges. That totally eliminated 100% leg spastics (through the lunges stretch) and heals the heavy leg syndrome (through the knee lifts), leading to much improved walking.
    Your Yoga block exercises additionally help in coordination and balance improvement.
    So have a super summer day, Nina. 🌺💞🌺

      Hi Nina!! Yes, if you have bad knees definitely skip this one. :) I love your routine and I am so glad you shared it so that others might be able to add some of your exercises. 😊

    • @Nina_2288
      @Nina_2288 4 года назад +1

      It is pretty much your mantra: repetition repetition repetition 😀😀😀 ps: getting rid of leg spastics through lunges works only if the spastic leg is straight and foot/leg goes in 45 degree angle after lots of stretching OVER MONTHS. That requires a flexible Achilles string and lots of repetition. In the beginning the ankle hurt, got thick in the back and had to be cooled and lifted on the sofa. But with tiny tiny improvements everyday the angle becomes smaller and it stretches out and the spastics just go away.

    I am following your walking progression videos and find the tall kneeling very helpful. I have an issue which means that every time I lift my unnafected leg to step through my hip pops out to the same side. Can you suggest what I could try to eliminate this please. Thanks. Neil( England)

      For kneeling, I strongly recommend investing in a mat. Here is a link: amzn.to/3lugsr4; I also strongly recommend a folding mat table. They are invaluable for stroke recovery. Here is a video where I talk about this: ruclips.net/video/hGRSPFtQTDs/видео.html

      Thanks for watching! That is an excellent question. I have a series on knee hyperextension. As I say in the video, the goal is to restore normal movement so generally speaking, you do not want "abnormal movements when doing these.
