Love it thanks Dr. T back to laying a strong foundation for walking. am walking but still hyper extending and my leg is stiff using the skateboard and gym ball technique but I'm loving this progression. Was praying for you when you didnt upload a video last Sunday. I'm glad to know that your fine. Have a blessed week!
Building a strong foundation with blocks of "affected leg exercises" held together with repetition, repetition, repetition to make that brain muscle connection. Thanks Dr. T.
Thank you, everything you post is helping a lot, I love your knowledge. Specially with this pandemic, we can do it at home and stay safe at home, I love it, I thanks God to have you and have access to this therapy!!! Blessings!!!
💝🤩💝 Love this video again, the on-the-belly-stuff is so hard, the hamstrings are super underperforming. In the good old gym times, that was no problem... but now every muscle and nerve there has to wake up again 😅😅 Thanks Dr. Tara and congrats to 12,500 followers! All the best from Germany 🥰💖🥰
Hi Nina! So true about the hamstrings! I think we all miss the good ole gym days right now 😊. We will all get back there soon! Yes, 12,500 subs. Never expected that when I started this. Glad to know the videos are helping people. I appreciate your support of me and this channel! I seriously could not do it without all the encouragement. Have a great Sunday 😊🌼🌻🌞🤗From Florida, USA)
Every day to be done... Have seen my relatives and my dad..everyday is a progress... surrounded people hav to teach and talk to them and motivate..First have to start with bed exercises then make them sit everyday...make them stand everyday and ask thwm to press the affected leg as much as they can...next is good food..adding pepper turmeric and veegtables and greens to diet helps..other tip is using oil massage we use narayana thaila and also ayurveda thaila sudarshana thaila massage from amazon.. progress is slow but worth it..we shoild alsontry to get a flouwer cot so affected person can bend their body make them sit in cot itself
Can you discuss the importance of rest after stroke? And discuss about how many hours of rehabs day a person should do physically, maybe someone who’s in their 30s versus their 40s etc.
Another fantastic video, I really appreciate the explanation of the movements, I guess I need to run to the Home Depot and get me some sliders, LoL thanks again
Thanks for watching! Many of the videos for stroke will work well for transverse myelitis. The only part that might not apply is when I say "involved side". However the goal is still the same.....restore normal movement patterns. :)
Believe, believe in recovery, it will come, it takes years, recovery can be done decades after the event. My recommendation is to put a dumbbell on the arm and leg in order to get a stretch. Make circular movements of the hands, legs, head. Gentle circular movements in all positions standing, sitting, lying down. Transfer weight to the injured leg, climb stairs with the injured leg. Sleep on a hard surface. Good luck with God's help.
Hey my name is Lawan I have lost strength in my legs from laying in the hospital bed too long and I'm trying to get them stronger could you send me any kind of videos or tell me what videos to watch of yours
A few questions, appreciate your recommendations. 1- on “roll on stomach” I can’t lift my affected leg while bending the knee for 90 degrees. I Can just lift the leg for a few degrees with no knee-bending. Should I continue practicing in this way or return back to which exercises? 2- In the “rotating” exercise, should we only move the unaffected leg? the reason? 3- Is it right or totally wrong if practising the recommended exercises for both of the affected & unaffected sides?
Thanks for watching and all the excellent questions! I am sure you are not the only one thinking these things. So, thank you. 1. Try a starting with your knee "more bent" (put a thicker pillow under the foot). If that doesn't work, try this video which is more specific for someone who can not bend the knee: ruclips.net/video/1p1fC6QwN_I/видео.html 2. Yes, we are trying to get more comfortable on the involved leg and discourage compensatory strategies. Also, it might create a problem with (the swinging phase) of the involved leg. 3. Again, in most cases, with hemiplegia you are already over using the uninvolved leg so focus only on the involved leg. This video might help answer this question: ruclips.net/video/NplLk3hjgyk/видео.html I hope this helps!
Ive literally just took my first step after having 2 strokes less than 3 weeks ago its upset me asI really want to move my hand again and I cannot do it yet
Thanks for watching! This is an excellent question. I have an entire playlist on exercises for spasticity including a video with my thoughts on spasticity management :)
That is an excellent question! Thank you for sharing this. Try placing the uninvolved leg on a yoga block (similar to the sit to stand progression). I hope that helps!
I find these videos frustrating as someone that has not had a Stoke, their movements are very different. I would like to see Tara bring someone in to do these exercises with their restrictions. I am grateful for the information however as a stroke survivor I am putting in a suggestion
Thanks for watching! I 100% agree that this series is getting into much more challenging activities. Please watch the first two videos in this series. I literally start a ground zero. :) (links for those videos in the description)
