- Marketplace really is a problem. Every time I sit down I start swiping though the classifieds. When it's time to sell is ALWAYS when the good deals pop up. This was a package deal of tri 5's that I just couldn't pass up!

I would leave the chevy as a four door and build it the way Dani wants. Than keep the Pontiac a Pontiac you don't see them as often so it would be more interesting. But that is just me.

I agree , keep both as they are ie. Don't "CUT THE PONTIAC" into pieces make it a Good Pontiac restomoded !!! Very very few 2 door 55 Pontiacs out there, put that 283 4 spd I'm it with some boost, it'd be one of one 😅LOL !!!

Personally I like the pontiac, I like the Buicks of those years a lot as well. In fact the ‘55-‘57 were just great years for a lot of vehicles/manufacturers.

Hi Dan .. on the Pontiac.. just for fun go all original.. too much of these cars are gone it would be interesting to keep it the way it was built .. still a lot of work but would be nice to see .. and no one seems to do numbers matching classic cars anymore .. or do both all original … also never throw any stainless steel away it is all valuable..

Vintage 4 doors are super handy! Great for throwing friends in the back and cruising. That color rocks!!

Dani is right leave it a 4door, update the brakes, engine, trans. Make it a cruiser. Fix up pontiac ,when was the last time ya saw one and would be a good flip for some cash. Imo

Dude, Build the 2 door Pontiac and the 4 door 55 for Daniel. I think you'll like the Pontiac when you start building it. It's different enough but still recognizable. That's the only other 55 I would consider owning. Not for anything else you have two great projects for the channel. I can't wait to see these get started!!
I love the 55. I say do a will it start video and see if the six cylinder will fire up. If so a will it drive video around the property. Then tow it home

Can’t save them all… But… I think leaving that four-door would be cool and that Pontiac looks too complete to be cutting on. I purchased a 68 lemans last weekend for Parts… Can’t bring myself to do it. I’m gonna get it running.😛
If it were me, I'd save that Pontiac. There's not that many left compared to Chevys...and it's in great shape!

It's not even that bad!
That car is super clean man. The reason the front fenders show black, is because the nose was bolted on at another plant. All the Tri5 bodies was built without nose and factory red oxide primer! The nose had black primer similar to NOS panels and was painted and bolted on last. Keep all original and Give it to Danielle! Put a small chevy in the Pontiac and send it down the road. Dani is a genius keep the 4 doors, cam and 4 barrel carb the six tint the windows and glitter bomb the interior. Oh yea and put on some Daisies what a cool cruiser it would be. That Pontiac is cool too but I think you should grab the steering column and powertrain then pedal it as a roller.

Do what Dani wants...4 door Coral and Gray FTW! Do a sweet Poncho for yourself...something out side of your wheelhouse.
Certainly 2 door conversion. Would be a good build. And coral with a very top would be neat to see.
I think start by buffing the paint and cleaning it up on the outside. Once it is shiney decide if you want to make it a two door, at least that way you could see it as it was intended before cutting it up.
Leave the Pontiac a Pontiac, would be easy to sell when running and less rusty, would be good content.
Canadian Pontiacs were built on the same assembly line in Oshawa, so your 55 Chev parts will fit well.

Of the 55, 56, and 57 Canadian Pontiacs, the 57 is the best looking IMO. '57 was the first year Bunky Knudson had anything to do with and the first thing to go were the heavy chrome waterfall trim off the hoods...
Sell the front clip of the Pontiac along with any Pontiac only parts, driveline, etc. Keep the doors and any sheet metal you can use, then convert the Bel Air to two door. Do the coral theme, smooth running small block and automatic O/D.
Recruit some lucky fans (free labor) for a “block party”, and body work the Bel Air in a few days. Then an appropriate paint job, whatever that is. This could be a fun promotion.
Niiiiice! Give the little lady what she wants... a Pink 4 Door Pontiac. I say get her those skinny 14 inch white walls mounted on matching pink painted steel wheels.

Oh man, dad used to have a 55 Pontiac 2 dr post....well technically the car is still in existence but dad has been gone since 2016. He gave the car to his uncle back in the 1970s who used to occasionally drive it but eventually it ended up in the garden behind the home place where it still sits today. Its 100% visible up the trail to our family cemetary. Car is so rusty now its just for appearances only. Dad was about 19 when he got it. Eventually it got a 389 4bbl which was his first engine rebuild.
This car you found Danny, wow its really bringing back thoughts and memories. You MUST make this one a driver and while you are at it throw a warmed over actual Pontiac engine. A lumpy 400 would do.

I rode to high school sophomore year in a 55 Pontiac like that one , my neighbor Steve Woodward drove it we pulled out the tired old motor (don't remember what it was) and put in a 389 out of a wrecked car with transmission !!! He sold that and got hisself a 69 GTO !!! Good memories !!! Keep that Pontiac too flip !!!

I have a 55 Bel-Air 4-door. 265 Powerglide third owner . Regal Turquoise/ India Ivory roof. Keeping it a four-door.

My vote is for keeping it 4 door. Think it would be interesting to see a Pontiac turn into a chevy. It's something different you haven't done yet.

I would love to see a build on the Pontiac 2dr converting it to a Chevy. I have wanted to do one like that for some time and it would be a great build series for everyone to see. I know some people would like to see the coral 4 door stay a 4 door but 4 doors are boring and you are known as the 4 door to 2 door conversion guy. Those would both be great builds. One needs to be a straight axle as well.
