The funny thing about this game is even if the stupid convenient reason why the national guard won’t come was true, you know at least one person would make it out and let everybody know then like in 2-3 business days every prepper and guy with civil war fantasies would show up and just start committing war crimes because isolated valley full of guns and nameless cultists sounds like a damn playground for them.
There's be an entire convoy of every /k/ommando and boogaloo boy in the country descending on Hope County within days of it hitting Reddit and 4chan. They'd probably have a mobile armory sitting at the county line for any no-gunz who show up to the party too.
It ain't a Warcrime if neither side signed conventions! God bless the deep Periphery
"Sir, we're an autoparts store."
The BPL is a national treasure.
Deputy: "oh you are glowing now"
i was half expecting Tex to go "oh ive been promoted to FBI agent"
Been promoted to the ATF
Can confirm, high speed tractors are terrifying. The tractor in this game is a small, hipster sized machine. The fun thing with some tractors is the only shocks are the tires, everything else is a hard connection. So when traveling on the highway, there are certain speeds that start a harmonic bounce, you must either speed up or slow down very quickly, or the bounce can get bad enough for the front tires to leave the ground.
Hipster sized machines ? Boy I say *BOY* your ancestors fed an entire nation with machines that size ! You and your new fangled computerized, geopositioned, air conditioned, internet connected monstrosities...GET OFF MY LAWN !
@@raifsevrence the future is now old man! Hahaha. We don't use anything newer than 2010, too many damn computers in them, too hard to work on.
@@thescottsman1996 ...Don't you just love John Deer?
You had me laughing at "hipster" sized. I was like, yeah, that is an accurate description.
@@katarjin That's no joke. Those bastards ought to be strung up by their toes and beat with rubber hoses.
I was once an "adversary," but then I took a 1950s hickory baton to the knee, and neck, and head, and throat, and kidney, and ankle, and...
Now you are a professional wheel chair driver with one morphine and one insulin pump a stoma and a catheter?
"You can't do that in Barovia, welcome to Strahd". Y'all had me chuckling at that one.
I feel like we need a 1950s cop game where all of the old instructions and methodologies are brought back to life.
Love how she was just gonna try and administer adrenalin to the heart, through body-armor... the same body-armor that guy's probably been wearing for several days.
If it's soft kevlar, then it'snot aproblem
Tex: “GOOD MORNING, MARSHALL...”
*[SNAPS DOUBLE BARREL CLOSED]*
i love the segments were Tex and Deputy watch these old instructional videos
i hope we get more of those in the future
Remember to value the relationships you make with people, because it can all be over all too soon. Just as we've seen with Murder Truck, the three years you spend with someone can, in the end, feel like only one and a half minutes.
How about a H&K G11 as a weapon? Just for the "alternate look" AND it has big flat sides that can be customised with your personal whacko paint scheme!
There are those (lame - depending on the amount of beers you had) "jokes" where one guy says "I have been hit by reason" ... and the other guy has a big hammer with big letters spelling "reason".
The people who designed this game have watched quite a lot of Airwolf ... with all the helicopters with their rockets and machine gun attachments.
Now that's a reference I wasn't expecting.
@@johnathanblackwell9960 Come on ... these weapon attachments look exactly like the fake ones in Airwolf ... no consideration for realism (you need a giant belt-feeder to supply a machine gun with "unlimited ammo" for example AND you should take care the spent cartridges are not ejected onto the glass dome, which might eventually crack).
... what can I say ... I am a german AND an engineer ... and these things bother me!
When Tex started his list, somehow I knew the 700 nitro would be on it. Because, why not.
How else will Tex hunt the Columbian hippos of Pablo Escobar cocaine mansion.
"now that we've started a fire we can't deal with, let's go steal a helicopter." Best line ever.
I have to imagine that with the number of cultists that the game throws at you, that close to 90% of the county's population are part of it. Not many people will be left to run the infrestructure after it is wiped out
I fail to see how that kind of hard reset would be a bad thing XD
The police video recommending you hit the assailant in the collarbone, elbow, and knee with your baton is absolutely insane. That's permanent damage. When I went through baton drills, those areas were on the same list as eyeballs and brain in spots to avoid hitting.
They were in the primary target list in my baton training back in 2012...
But that's probably because it was national defence militia security guard training and not police or private security XD
The same class also included krav maga based melee training including melee using the muzzle, stock and body of our G3 battle rifles with techniques that can be used with or without a bayonet.
Bayonets are only issued in case of war time mobilization or for royal palace guard duty rotation. The latter is volountary for the individual defence militia troopers.
Different era forsure.
53:03 if you didnt catch the reference, it was a ruby ridge reference. The atf shot the family dog (for no reason)among many other things that they shouldn't have.
The helicopter gets destroyed and all i can think of is yelling "Kobe!" As if i wwas making a basketball shot.
32:00 They're attempting to teach saber fencing with a baton...
After rubbish training like that its no wonder they left the big old bat of beating arse in the car and just started going in for the gun-fu
I mean sabre is one thing because its sharp and people grab it, its quite ouchy, so presenting in a guard situation just means they grab the bat and now you're disarmed or worse, being whacked with it. At least in modern baton training it was mostly about keeping it at the high ready over a shoulder so you can pop out and strike once they closed into range, that and the general rule for using a baton is 'Extreme Violence' with a pretty heavy focus on 'Pain Compliance'.
Which is the politically correct turn for whacking someone with a stick until they stop moving :)
To be fair until the 40s they taught singlestick/sabre/cutlass in the navy and army(cavalry) so the traditions woul have carried on to the 50s and singlestick was also a boy scout merit badge
@@josephdedrick9337 that is fair, and I didn't know that about boy scouts.
@@josephdedrick9337 You also used to be able to get a Master-at-arms merit badge if you managed to learn the basics of two combat arts. They had fencing, singlestick, judo, wrassling, boxing and gymnastics.
Hear me out. Uber. But it's helicopters. They come to you send down a harness and reel you in. Date going wrong? Call Extraction today.
40:58 more reacting to old training films please lol
44:28 Just getting casually overtaken by a corpse on its back :'D
50:00 Straight up said "Jesus" in unison with Tex. Those climbers are cool as hell. Appreciate the footage.
If I could make a four gun pack for me I’d go with Remington 1858 army. Double Barrel Over and under 12 gauge. SKS with a turkey carver bayonet and the Mobrez with folding bayonet. I’d call it the “FUDDy DUDDy” pack. Pre order comes with folding Buck knife and Mossy Oak Camo costume.
I saw the Taurian insignia and thought I had posted this in my sleep for a second.
It has been 10 months ever since episode 6
I love this series, glad it’s back
Hard to believe they actually recorded this stuff a couple years ago.
32:32 OH MY GOD! THOSE ARE BASIC FENCING MOVES!!!
Nice
Yess a stick is a stick even if it's not a sharp stick of stabbing.
Seeing the baton video instructing people to aim for joints was hysterical and horrifying. When I was trained with the asp baton we were told to NEVER aim for the neck or joints. "Permanent loss of bodily function or ability" is part of the definition of goddamn deadly force!
I used to fence a lot, like a lot a lot. There is a lot of saber and bayonet drill in those baton drills. Its nice to see these drills being used.
Keep your rifle by your side. XD
I'd love to see a Sharps rifle in one of these games. Just to live out my own (poorly recreated) Quigley fantasies
"Can... can you lower those blades to the back of her head?"
I laughed my ass off.
IIRC this particular game was made by Ubisoft Montreal... so in Quebec they think .308 is anemic, beaver crossings are a thing, and Montanans can own fully armed Spitfires with machine-guns and bombs.... oh yeah, can't wait `til you get the spitfires.
Tex can fulfill his desire of wacky guns with the Cursed Halo Mod
Tex: Oh I can escape now, thank god
*commercial for Kashi Go Protein Waffles plays in the middle of the video*
ME: That's great timing.
Looking forward to this, I'll keep an eye out for "ways into the legion."
Check out the Marauder tex talks Battletech. Great video.
Good luck, I have been trying for a few years and found nothing but dead ends. (no really I hope you find it)
I think it'd be cool to know that Tex and Co. think I'm cool enough to join, but I don't think I'd be able to keep up and I'd rather someone more active have a chance.
So damn good. I’ve got a playlist for all the FPS shenanigans in the BPL. It’s all pure gold.
I definitely agree with the idea of a QTE skipping the dumb dream sequences. Hit the button and-
'I had harder drugs last weekend!'
*Gun under chin of annoying cultist, BLAM*
A bunch of that baton work is adapted 18th-19th century military saber drill, and works a whole lot better with a yard long steel blade than with a two foot nightstick.
I have played through this game multiple times and I still have no god damn idea wtf was going on with Faith and the bliss like how does she make you randomly hallucinate when you have not been under the effect of bliss? lol
It must be absorbed by fat cells in the body really easily
The riot baton and ladder clips were great extras
For a thousand years I have laid dormant, awaiting the arrival of the next Tex and Dep video…
I would love to see some of the more unusual firearm designs from the 1800's prior to the introduction of smokeless powder, turret loading rifles or even 4-bore stopping rifles. Also make a character based on Samuel Colt, that man was, to put it delicately, "unique".
brings 4 bore to any fight...your shoulder will make you feel like you got shot with that elephant gun. If you read the stories of the era, they didnt want to fire it for like a week after from the brusing and stuff from shooting.
- 1 Set your life on fire and seek out those who will fan the flames. 2 What are compatriots but fuel for the flames of progress. Collateral, against the days of fire.
- Canticles of a Burned Man 10:1-2, Greater Book of Z0rg
My picks would be an AKM/AK10x with realistic 762 (even shitty steel case ammo will turn class 3 armor into swiss cheese), ks23 (kekw), vector in realistic .45 (because 1200rpm in 45 is hilarious) and maybe a PKP pecheneg aka 6P41 (it's a machine gun in 7.62x54R, yes, same caliber as an SVD, you get to blow chunks out of people)
28:58 Interesting the baton uses whats similar to what is known as a saber grip in the historical fencing world, i would have figured a hammer grip(exactly like how you hold hammers) would be better. The hammer grip is shown more in the video while things are taking place, while the saber grip seems to be the default "netural/en garde stance"
31:55 The footwork and stance is also very similar.
32:26 the parries though a bit odd are more or less what i understand to be single stick/cutlass/basket hilted sword guards
33:28 not super sure on that cut/bottle smash being effective, then again i am trained for things with blades not boop.
33:43 i dont have any real experience with bayonet drill but this seems like it just with a baton. (wrote before i heard "the cop mention it")
34:37 That looked like a decent cutting motion/ rising cut actually
35:01 the first 2 moves before the final "cut" seemed iffy and i agree with the mcdojo feel. It seems unlikely the sliding upward arm cut would be of much use as the "suspect" swings downward for booping.
35:13 good he aimed for the head/upper torso area, that's how the geometry works in nearly all cases, someone trys to hit your feet hit them in the head, you have a range advantage. Its a drill that was taught to me early on in my fencing, they throw a thrust at your feet, you thrust them to the head, by the time their thrust would have hit your foot, your blade is poking out the back of their head(its that much of a range difference).
35:41 this is actually a principle taught in fencing as well to some extent, it makes more sense when someone isn't holding onto your blade/baton though except in armored fencing which is just grappling with sword/daggers/etc,(note i haven't done any armored fencing yet, just seen some of the manuals))
36:00 interestingly enough for armored fencing there are moves where you drop your sword to do grappling moves, so viable enough actually(not that either parties have swords nor armor in this case). Normally you grab your dagger at some point to stab the guy your grappling with as well.
38:58 I do like when they do step when they "cut" , its not the best but they also appear to be twisting a bit at the hips which is good for power generation for cuts. You dont typically just do arm/shoulder movement cuts, you do the torso/hips as well.
After seeing that police drill i definitely will have to see how much compares to cutlass and bayonet drill which seems very similar.
Yeah, the five guards are similar (though not exactly identical) to several of the basic side-sword guards from Fiore de Liberi's Flor di Battaglia. Weird that they'd throw in an overhead guard like that - those are generally more effective at an angle. And the wrist-flick strike they're demonstrating is lighter than the side-sword technique, which starts from the elbow and whips through the wrist and fingers to the blade to the opponent...but w/e It's all old and ridiculous anyway.
@@adamkoslin9302 yeah I just had my sword nerd senses activate and I had to do a review. Most of my fencing is from the 1500s wasn't the side sword post fiori for the most part?
@@josephdedrick9337 Mostly, but the school I went to (too long ago, now) took Fiori as a big chunk of the basis for its side sword program. I'm not a scholar of it by any means, but I did enjoy getting kitted up and bashed over the noggin.
I was about to make similar comments though I came from an ARMA perspective.
Funny thing is, at the same time this video was filmed, Swedish police carried revolvers and short-ish heavy sabres based on 17th century cavalry sabres... on regular foot and mounted patrols as well as crowd control and anti-riot deployment.
(Swedish mounted police used textbook 18th century cavalry charges with sabres to break up riots in downtown Stockholm as late as the 1960ies...)
A moment of respectful silence for our dearly departed Murder Truck.
You talking about your dad playing Doom just reminds me of the time my dad played Rome Total war for like 23 hours straight then never played again. XD
Nothing provides friendlier fire than a flame thrower XD
I'm sitting in my living room watching this on my phone while my wife watches something on the TV.
I'm replaying the section at 6:45 for a minute now, laughing so hard while trying to stay quiet that my sides hurt.
I just realized he landed on deputy.
!
My 4 guns would be a blunderbuss, the ray gun from Mars Attacks, the tiny robot from Futurama that you yell "give it to em, Andrew" when you fire it, and that gun that shoots swords from that one Punisher comic
My 4 Would Be 1. Rolling Block in 7mm French 2. FAL 3. M1 Carbine in 30 Carbine (Duh) And a 4. DeLise Carbine in 45acp 4.b Alt choice 30/30 Winchester. They would have Examples ALL over the Place, The Delise is pushing it but they could get one. Bonus action a sack of Throwing Spears / Javeilins.
Tex’s gun choice is straight outta Hunt: Showdown. I like it
Best (or at least funniest to me) insult I received - We just had to remove a drunk from a business, and after we walked him out he turns around and yells "You guys are just a couple of couch f-ckers!"
I was a little confused and asked "What?"
"You guys are a couple of COUCH F-CKERS!"
"What does that even mean?!"
The guy looked at me and my partner like we were stupid, then slowly aliterates "YOU... F-CK... COUCHES!" and starts pistoning his one finger through a circle he made with fingers on the other hand.
I love and appreciate that you know about the song, "I've Got A Brand New Combine Harvester".
Honestly, I could live with just having you and Deputy watch and commentate over old training vids. No gameplay necessary.
The thing I find odd playing this game again in 2022 is that no one in Faith's region has a mask of any kind? Like, maybe some folk that work in confined spaces be all like, "It's fine. I have some respirators. Lets put them on and next time they spray their crazy drugs at us, we'll just counter with bullets until they stop," Hell, even a scuba setup would show more foresight than this.
Not one person even remotely tries to find a way not to get drugged.
I realized you can totally hear goat laughing during that totally original song.
RIP Murder Truck. TAKE ME INSTEAD!
Ah just what we needed to bring the smiles.
I would want an anti material rifle or a MG3.
Hey, cool! RUclips finally put a BPL video into my recommended feed.
Very rare these days
@@theblackpantslegion Maybe you're finally being let out of the internet's naughty corner.
Game developers think .308 rounds must be like varmint rounds or something
Rip MURDERTRUCK, the BPL is lesser without you
FINALLY!
I know you've been busy, Tex, but I appreciate you getting this out to us finally. Literally made my night.
One big F for the Murder Truck. RIP
Apparently Tex used to play night lords when he was a 40k guy lol
YESSSSSSSSSSSA! IVE BEEN WAITING SENCE MARCH 1ST OF 2021 FOR THIS!
"I want a realistic bomb lance"
Lemme tell you about this game called Hunt Showdown...
An entry into one of my favorite series on RUclips?! I don't care if it's January, it feels like Christmas
Hey Tex, I don't know if you were joking or actually knew it, but the movements when you were say, "En Garde, en garde!" were (and still are) basic sabre movements. The footwork is "A" advance and "A" retreat, with the parries being (in order) position 5, 4, 6, 7, and 8. Those are some of the first things beginning fencers are taught. Though it doesn't look like baton training goes much further.
Man, Tex really Baldwined that Movie guy... geez...
Good bye Murder Truck. You might be gone, but you'll never be forgotten.
Love this series
Me too buddy.
There were 5 other videos i was gonna watch... then this popped up in my notifications... Here i am! Everything else is chopped liver.
Hell yeah brother!
@@eltoxicdog7587 *Thumbs Up* God! Damned! Right!
Love the "Let's watch" portion! Would love to see more of them!
I love episodes like these. Tex is happy as a clam. Having insane legal fun. Stay happy and stay safe Tex.
You missed a couple of "fun" possible DLC weapons there Mr Tex - a Lancaster howdah pistol in .577 (quad barrelled, naturally) or a Boyes anti tank rifle. For when "Go away!" needs to be more sternly worded and in an archaic fashion :) If you insist upon more modern things then may I recommend the Inkunzi PAW, aka Neopup, for your new and improved "Get off my lawn!" requirements.
The dynamic between you and Deputy is great. Not better or worse than what you have with others, just different. It feels a little less madcap, you're more chilled out with the what ifs rather than frantically plotting new warcrimes. They just happen naturally.
It's all about the journey not the destination.
Remember to subdue the adversary with a swift bash to the neck.
Tex, if you want to turn the peggies to mist, There are some Tractors that when you drive into people they become mist
And for the tourniquet part, as he was starting to roll and twist to apply tension over a round, he forget the part, spin it fast, crack him in the temple to knock him out, it’ll slow down his heart beat and breathing, so he doesn’t pump out as fast, from panicking, haha. Plus it’ll keep screams of pain to a minimum so as to not distress the neighbors.
As a hema practitioner i would love to test out these Baton strategies, but my club is still under covid restrictions. The ideas are looking awfully ineffective for a short blunt stick and a lot like MC Dojo energy fighting where everyone goes straight into pain compliance and works with you towards total submission
38:20 ah yes, dont atack the head from behind, stab the kidneys so the bruises arent showing above the clothes, just like you do at home *cue music*
hearing Tex humm the wursels just made my day.
RE: .357 Desert Eagle: I remember when me and friends used to have small LAN parties ways back, playing Rainbow Six Raven Shield co-op, I did quite like the .357 Desert Eagle in that, kills dudes just as well as .44 or .50AE, but with not too shitty mag capacity or recoil.
this playthrough eased my anxiety laden mind during a long covid testing wait. Thank you to Tex and the Deputy. May your futures be Fiesta Pail free.
41:45 The helicopter constantly hovering in a nose down angle drives me nuts.
so i do medieval re-enactment in the uk and they are basically going over basic levied combat i half expected them to ask the guy "how the grass tastes little man"
ruclips.net/video/n5QpwYfSs4A/видео.html example
Grass taste good, I didn't need my joints officer.
> Would add a bomblance to FC5
Now I REALLY, REALLY want to see Tex play Hunt: Showdown.
Watching the cop badly execute what seem to have been military sword drills from 50 years earlier is painful.
The sign for getting helos, no, usually a radio/a smoke grenade at times, after radio, haha. As long as it’s mostly flat, and big enough, or made to be big enough for the rotor arc, det cord is cool. And fun fact the blades on Huey’s and Cobra’s, at least the two blade version I worked in, were designed to survive brush and small branches/tree tops if you knicked them, and they were spruce core, wrapped in fiberglass and epoxy, aluminum skin.
I'd love to give you an additional thumbs up for the synthwave reference.
You do realize that if you ram an adult moose with a pickup truck, the moose will be fine and the truck will be totaled.
You must shoot the magic Buffalo with the helicopter machine gun
Lol, intro scene already hooked me.
I used to do fencing and that baton movement is identical
You-all act like stick time wasn't a real thing I'm old enough to remember stick time.
Do you think we'll ever get a tex talks BattleTech again? Or MW5 with the boys? Love everything u r doing. long live the black pants Legion
Been looking forward to the next part. Glad to finally see this out at last!
Next: Far Cry 6 with an actual Cuban!
It seems so sad that the best parts of Far Cry 5 are Easter eggs and callbacks to Blood Dragon.
The edits for murder truck are fantastic
My face hurts from smiling.
