I was born in 2001 and have lived in Greenisland my whole life, incredible to see how much the station has changed, the platforms have been extended, the trees have been cleared for a park and ride and the entrances to the platforms from the subway have changed and so have the waiting shelters, and that announcer at 3 56, I vaguely remember that, that was the voice used until about 2007, big thumbs up from me, putting this in my favourites as well.

Remember when you could slide the windows down and stick your head out at 8:41. Now, the windows don't open and we're subjected to endless safety announcements. 😕
P.S. Every time I pass the York Street workshops I see a couple of those big blue locos at 9:20. Not sure if they're being renovated or what.

NI was a mecca for older rolling stock. As recent as 2008 (poss later?) some amazing thumpers were still running. Now all the stock looks the same and is frankly, dull. 2:24 when getting off a moving train was still possible!
Do you know what that line was going off to the right at 4:00?
Amazing that the approach to York Road is almost completely unchanged except for the Midland Hotel being gone, which is no loss!
8:35 is very interesting as currently (my office overlooks it) Gt Victoria St is set to become the Belfast travel hub once more (they had it right first time) as a new station is being built and the Enterprise from Connolly will once more terminate in the centre of Belfast! Its set to be called Belfast Grand Central Station.

Yes, opening the door and jumping out before the train had even stopped was commonplace. In fact you could have opened the door at any speed if the conductor wasn't watching!

@@jimsimpson1006 I grew up in Surrey so the slam door trains arriving at Waterloo and timing it right to jump off was just life! I miss it
