FedEx: So we've been having MKBHD's Pixel 5 for a while...
omg you actually managed to make this joke funny again
So underrated
Man this is the best one
Since two weeks
Thanks all! I think I saw this on twitter
FedEx: So we've had MKBHD's new phone for a while now
😂😂
This is the best comment haha
😅😅
Nice
@dark side what
My deepest desire is a returning of Nexus: the best phone, the strongest materials, at the lower price. What a great time were those...
I had a nexus s7 tablet that was a tank!!
I was thinking the same a return back to nexus philosophy would be so refreshing. I probably still wouldn't go back tho due to it not having a headphone jack.
That time didn't exist as you all remember. Only three of them were cheap and even the expensive ones all each had massive flaws and obviously cut corners
It would be interesting to know who decided to kill the Nexus approach. I bet it was some reorganization and someone new bringing "new ideas" that now make us feel that we miss the old ones.
My Nexus 7 is irreplaceable, where do youo get a 7" screen with WXGA resolution and only weighing 150g these days? It is a masterpiece. Unfortunately random reboots are making me think about something new.
This may sound weird but I love how this guy holds things.
👀
God damn xD
Same lol. Especially more compact smartphone like this
MKBHD: I mean its good, but its actually good but its not that good but yeah
Lmao
MKBHD: It's a flagship, but not a flagship.
MKBHD : Yes but actually No

Best comment ever
Okay so you won this video’s best comment
And this are our thoughts 🤣
🤣🤣🤣
Finally someone uses the overused joke but adds something original
This is exactly the Pixel I want. High-ish end specs without an insultingly high pricetag for a bunch of bs that I don't care about. Also, the back of the phone is the perfect spot for the fingerprint reader, LOVE that they're keeping that and confused why no one else does it.
Dude, this is really not worth it. The Pixel 4a is a much better deal, basically the same thing with no water resistance. The specs are what you would find on a 300-350$ phone.
@@SAMISHUKRI Wireless charging, 5g, 90hz, IP rating, and that build quality ... in a 300$ phone?
iPhone 12 mini or 6.1 is a much better deal than the Pixel 5
@@brianadams8832 Well, I was mainly talking about the underpowered 765G, but, if you look hard enough, yes. Look at the Poco X3, Moto G 5G Plus, Vivo iQOO Z1X 5G, ZTE Axon 20 5G.
Point is this is worth much less than they're selling it for, and the only people who would want this phone are people who don't care about specs, like Pixel cameras, and like Stock Android. The Pixel 4a fulfills all of that for half the price! I mean, there is no difference between the Pixel 4a camera and Pixel 5 one, look it up! It may have slightly worse specs, but again, you probably don't care about that. And they both have Stock android.
To put the price tag a little more in perspective (if the 300$ phones like it didn't help you understand) this is releasing for the almost same price as the Pixel 3, which had the latest chipset, an amazing camera, and was actually a complete phone, unlike this "budget" phone!
@@SAMISHUKRI
"Well, I was mainly talking about the underpowered 765G"
Define underpowered? What makes it underpowered? Are you using the 765? Underpowered for what? Is it just that the phone is not as cheap as you'd like with that chipset?
"Point is this is worth much less than they're selling it for"
That's how you make money. That's nearly every phone. Do I think the pixel 5 is peak value -- No. The Samsung S20FE is likely better value. Come Black Friday season it will likely be a hell of a value. Also, in Europe it has great value and is being bundled with successfully.
"the only people who would want this phone are people who don't care about specs, like Pixel cameras, and like Stock Android."
Poco has less ram, worse screen, worse dpi, worse build quality, no wireless charging, a slower chipset, no 5g. The Poco compares to the Pixel 4a, not the 5. Are we having an honest discussion here? The specs are drastically different here. There is a noticable bump is specs/power/features between these two tiers of phones (poco and pixel)
"no difference between the Pixel 4a camera and Pixel 5 one, look it up! "
Yes, I know. There hasn't been a diff in the pixel camera for nearly 4 years. Is it required they upgrade the sensor when they still provide industry leading photos? I care about results, not specs when it comes to this. Google will likely release a phone (next 2 years) that features a new sensor they will use for 3+ years because consistency matters. That's why the pixel camera is so liked -- good, but more importantly, consistently so.
I take my non-IP-rated phone out in the rain without a damn!
MKBHD: nervous splash on an IP68 rated phone.
these pixels, like previous ones, are not ip68 rated! To be honest I don't really know I didn't do research but at least in the past the " ip68 " of google always had an asterisk * that said in the bottom of the page in very tiny words something like: "resistant to splash and dust not submergible"
@@yaago it's kinda subjective then. I mean if the phone is rated IP68 then it ought to be submergible, and Pixel 5 is IP68 rated. But if you're right then I don't know why they rated it IP68. Splash resistance is more of an IP55 or 65 thing.
That's true
@@yaago I believe the are 67 rated, my 3XL is in my pocket every time I swim or get in a hot tub and everything works perfect. Had it since launch, it's been submerged more times than I would like to admit.
IP should be standard.
Phones are meant to be used, not babied.

@@pkj6684 as someone who has experience as a youtube commenter, i have to say that it is really depends on whether your comment becomes popular or not. You are either getting 99% of the likes if your comment becomes popular either get nothing at all if it doesn't get attention in the right time and gets buried and thousands of other comments.
People don't go through all the comments and like everything worthy. They only scroll a few tens of them and that's it. If your comment made it to those ones, it will get attention and thus get likes. If it didn't make it, it just becomes one of those other 99% of comments and gets burried there. Even if your comment is really good it is normal that it isn't getting anything just because nobody sees it.
But it is possible to get there. Even though it is random and may seem like it's never gonna make it, if you persist on trying long enough, one time the dices are rolled in your favor and your comment is in the top

What a pixel should be and what nexus was about : Straight to the point
Not exactly but close. The Nexus devices still had the high end Snapdragon chips in them.
I went from Nexus 6P to iPhone 8. I miss my stock Android. My next phone will probably be a Pixel 5 or 6 in a year or so. I’ll buy one around Pixel 6 release, I’m just not sure if Pixel 6 will be justified for the extra price.
@@isaiahwade1484, Snapdragon chips hasn’t been as cheap as before
@Bradley Rose yes back when the Nexus devices were being made the focal point wasn't really the camera in too many phones at all. And most definitely did have poor build quality, especially the 6P. But it's easy to overlook if you were into modding phones because they were amazing in that regard.
@@VinceIsDatBitch I have no idea what you're even trying to say. The Qualcomm chips aren't cheap now at all, matter of fact the new 5G chips are more expensive to produce than ever. And they haven't gone down in quality either if that's what you mean by cheap.

This almost feels like a return to Google's Nexus roots... and I think that's a great thing. Nexus phones were never meant to be top of the line flagships. Nexus phones were simple honest phones that just worked, with understated durable designs, and excellent software integration. I will definitely be picking up a Pixel 5 in the near future.
I would be as well if I didn't have the 4XL. I'm glad to see them returning to their roots, and I hope they follow this trend.
This is honestly where Pixel's space is I feel. I was so excited about the a series of Pixels because it makes it more accessible.
@@Mubashir_AK This. I feel like the only reason phones are a thousand dollars is because Apple does it, and they know every year people will upgrade regardless of what they added.
