A new video where I go into the world and sample something to make music with. This time I recorded a coffee machine! Great samples to play with :) First you see the sampling process, then the sound design process and then the live performance of the track I created. Which is a bit of a goofy track but it was fun to create.
Enjoy!
This video was made possible by Henry HiCut who helped me during the shooting and editing during his internship at my studio. His RUclips with great jams: / @henryhicut

this is the most genius thing i've seen in a while
Thank you kindly ❤️ will make more of these in 2024
wake up and smell the techno!
This video has inspired me to buy an espresso machine.
I'm glad i can spread the word about the life improvement that a coffee machine can bring
Very well done Dave!👏This is showing me two things: 1. Thats why digitakt is still my number one „toy“ and 2. Another proof that your courses are worth every penny. I know how much work you put in every track and it‘s the details that matter!!“ Can only recommend it to everyone who owns a DT.
Thanks a mil Maik :)
Have more of these in the pipeline and a million ideas for them.
creative process, John Cage would be proud, only limited by one’s imagination!
this sounds like the party in my stomach after drinking a flat white (in a good way)!!
inspiring... thx
Awesome- how you get such funky techno from a coffee machine is such a joy to see and hear, I couldn't stop moving to it!
Thank you 😃
Pretty nice!
Reminding me Blawan's style
One of my biggest heroes. Thank you. Really am inspired a lot by his sound lately but i feel like I'm still miles away from that quality. My live improvisation set has my focus now to create these atmospheric worlds and I feel it is going into the right direction. Will probably have its effect on the sound of these sampling videos :)
Let’s gooo Dave! I love the resurgence of this series!
You're great.
Wow. Cool.
That was one of the best tutorials I've seen you do. That one just clicked for some reason. Thanks.
Found sound always has the rooms reverb printed into it
Hands down the best coffee in town! 💯
❤tidy workout mate with a little monster 👏👏👏👏
Great work Dave!
Another masterclass on found sound, and you even went old school minimal! Always a pleasure. Much love to Henry Highcut btw! 🤣
Thanks bud! Yeah was really great having him around to help :)
Ikr, it’s super Detroit sounding like they used to play in the Berlin clubs alot in the late 80s early 90s!
Nice panning of those hats Dave
Yet another sampling showcase by the master 😎👌
A Master of Sonic Doodlings that proves Anything can be created out of Everything, Everything out of Anything with extreme mutations of processed sound bytes
Excellenti 🆒🎶🎶🎶🎶🌈🔱🕸⚡️👁👽🌀🌟🌟
Thank you so much ❤️
Amazing as always dave!
Always inspired by these sampling videos 📹
Something so simple and sweet about the concept and always excited well.
Like a good flat white
😁 cheers Jack
This is monstruous, insultingly good. Once again.
Haha thank you ☺️
Awesome vid Dave
This grinds my beans! :p Awesome again!
Thanks dude!
Anyone who enjoys the track and hasn't heard Herbert's "Around the House" should go back and listen.
Lovely track that :)
Love it!
Brilliantly done of course, yet i was waiting for some thing extra. Biscuits or cake perhaps. 😉 Either way, that was a nice sounding coffee..
Keeping focus ;) thanks
Nice shit bruh
Very nice man! I just bought a zoom H6. Inspired to start recording some house hold items now ahah
Nice! More great sounds to find then one might guess :)
Genius as usual ! 👏🙏
Great stuff! Well done!
Maybe if you’d have had coffee and Biscuits (European meaning), you could’ve snapped a Biscoff biscuit in two for a nice snare!
😂💀
Sampling cookies coming up!
@@Davemech lol, nice!
😂💀
@@Davemech I really need to check out more of your videos. Just replaying this then off for a listen!
@@4th_Lensman_of_the_apocalypse enjoy 😁
Fuck that was amazing mr Mech! 🔥🥰❤
Your videos are amazing! What can we not see that’s “off camera”. What else are you using to create these types of videos? Love love love your work!
Thank you! :) 🙏
You mean how the samples are prepped etc ? Samples were prepped in a daw but nothing too major. Just some slight EQ here and there. Other than that the tracks are created with the instruments you see in the videos :)
Or maybe you mean something else? Let me know 👍
Nope thats what I meant. How do you like the 1010 BlueBox? Im torn between that and the Tascan Model 12...@@Davemech
@@Tim.TravelerYou didn’t ask me but as a BlueBox owner who saw this I felt like replying… I’d say it’s a very cool and flexible mixer with its biggest and pretty crucial flaw being the USB power which is noisy with other USB powered devices being plugged in near by. It is beyond me why you would power a mixer like that knowing it’s a noisy method. It’s plugged into the wall anyways, I just don’t understand why brands are going this way. It really is an awesome device though, I more brands would make a more full sized device with synths in mind.
Thanks Ryan!@@ryanhursh6322
Now I want a digitakt and a better coffee machine..
Wonderful combination for live shows
Hey Dave, amazing ideas and elektron tweaking as always ;). May I ask, how do you like the SSL big six for electronic music synth based setups along with elektron machines? Did it improved your workflow and sound? I saw that you got one the other day on the forums. thanks!
Yeah it did improve sound and workflow. Especially for the various tasks i have in the studio from creating music to teaching and recording videos. The sound card and flexible routing options are second to none. And it sounds incredibly clean but can still push things a little. And the bus comp is great
Can I have a tall decaf half shot soy latte with sugar free caramel syrup on ice 😁🔫
😄
😄ristretto here
Dear Dave, how many of the samples that you actually grabbed did you incorporate into the track? Did you actually mangle every single sound you recorded? That seems like a lot of work and I thought maybe you would just do a few until you came up with some good ideas.
Not entire sure but i think about 10 to 12 samples were used for this track, so definitely not every single sample from all the sounds i recorded.
All I can think of now is I want to see you do something with James Hoffman…..
😄
I'm bored Dave is the volca modular any good ?
Haven't used it myself but looks fun enough :)
