Yes that's correct they made those generation Ford fullsize trucks from 1987 through 1991 like you said.
I love all fords but those years are my favorites.
If its the e4od it will shift hard untill the computer relearns ! Also for everyone with these trucks 87 - check crankcase filter under main air filter ,they are neglected and fall out of their housing allowing dirt into engine. The high pressure will burst those rubber fuel hoses! Once you are familiar with these classics ,they are easy to work on . Redhead makes a remanufactured steering gear box for these trucks to take care of slack in worn out boxes .borgeson makes a heavy duty steering shaft to cure the rest of the slack found in most of these trucks.

Solid truck man! I drive my stepdads old ‘94 F150, it’s a solid workhorse, got 272,000 on it and still runs amazing, gonna do a lot of restoration on it before and after I get back from boot camp!
I have a 91 and got a ignition control module replaced and I also run on the rear tank. I ❤️ my truck and it's a good one. Congratulations

I have a 1991 F-150 XLT Lariat that I bought about two years ago and fixing up ever since now that I have it up and running I can’t wait to get it out on the road soon! I love these old Ford’s!
This and Crown vics are my favorite vehicles of all time.
Cant forget the impalas though.

I had a 91 identical to that, same colour, 302 auto 4x4, only difference mine was a Custom and not an XLT Lariat. Beautiful truck, same gas tank problems as that one. Never had it very long and gave it to my dad, he drove it for 5 or 6 years before he parked it when I gave him another one, a 96 XL with the 302/auto/4x4 combo.
He thinks he's going to get my current truck when I'm done with it, but that's going to be a while.
1995 F250 XLT 460/auto/4x4 combo. I'm going to be keeping this one for a while I think.
Can't beat the old bricknose/aeronose Fords.
My dad had an 89 in this exact color and it was his baby. When he died his family stole the truck and I haven’t seen it since. One day I would love to find his or at least one like it in his memory. Beautiful truck.

i personally own an 1991 f250 xlt lariat and i got mine for free too due to problems it had and it was sitting in storage. it is a solid truck and that thing is an absolute work horse
That is awesome you got a free pick up, and since you have an idea what is wrong, you can easily fix it, that looks like the deluxe version of the pick up, power windows, double tanks , long bed mag wheels,,the best is the price, " free".
Great video and review ! I love these old 70s and 80s Ford tracks . I will definitely consider one of these I currently own a 2016 F150 .
yep if it werent for their gas mileage, Id love to just drive the old 70s trucks around all the time.

7:00 I got a 90 XLT 4X4 manual, and my passenger window won’t roll down, and the fuel gage doesn’t seem to work but other than that for a 31 year old truck it’s great. Got mine from a family member.

Congrats (I hope). Ford actually made that particular front body style from '87 until '91. I think the doors were the same from '80 to '96. I hope it doesn't cost you too much to make it drivable again. That body is in really nice shape. I'm guessing it is a 302? Keep us updated.
97 same doors 98 is when it changed again body style wise
5.8 351w. Got the same one in my 89.
As a 92 f150 owner they kept the doors from 80-91 basically the same despite the door panels, The 92-97ish The fins (smoker windows) were different which I particularly don't care of if you wanted to swap the doors with older doors the new panels will overlap the corner of the fins on the older doors (if you put a newer panel on it)
Ol' bricknose. Sweet trucks, I have a 91 F-250 XLT Lariat Power locks/windows 460 V8 EFI w/ a auto trans. It has auto locking hubs, and is a great plow truck. I paid 1k for mine.
I love mine so much I actually bought another one for parts! For 400 bucks... I've already got my 400 out of it. I'm praying to get my transmission right
i got a 65 f-250 flat for free all i had to do was go get it. the only thing i had to get for it was a 5 spd trans it even had a brand new clutch.

Got an 88 from a guy about 3 years ago for only $200. The only major thing it needed was the transmission rebuild because the overdrive gear didn't work half the time.
Kinda looks like you were driving with the E brake on in the beginning. Could be the cause for the jerky-like motion. Really love the truck though.

Yep we plan to get the both roto balers pulled out soon. The rakes are still sitting. I got the old steel wheel rake pulled off the bottom and back up at the house. Both need a little tlc.

For some reason the switch between the front and the back gas tanks is not working. One fuel pump was replaced for like 300 bucks, but it doesn’t seem to click on it all when we turn on the vehicle.
I have that exact truck. Same color and all. Bit of rust. But the thing is a tank. Even got side swiped once. My truck didnt have a scratch, just busted plastic on the rim. His car was totaled.
Yeah, the neck on my 1992 F-150 is messed up. Remarkably, both tanks work on my truck! However, you have to put gas in veeeeery slowly or it'll overfill and spill out.
Years ago i own eda 1990 with the 5.0 in it. Now i have a 1995 f150 with 5.0 with 336,200 miles on the original drive train except for driver side axle shaft
I got my pickup for 150 bucks because of this actuator. Easy fix 67k original miles. Other issues from sitting but with a little love I trust it more than my 2010 king ranch
I fixed the actuator finally on it. It was a bit tedious and took awhile but I was able to do it via a few shortcuts without removing the whole steering column.
@@JerryMiah yeah I took the steering wheel off and it seemed to be okay. I was pissed a few times though haha as usual with any project
Hey! My fuel gauge reads passed full like that, did you fix it by replacing the sending unit? Or was it a wiring issue?
Didn't get around to fixing it. Front end was messed up and had too much gridning noises in 4wd so it went to the crusher 😞

Own an 88’ F150 XL 4x4. pretty sure you drove it out of it’s resting place with the parking brake on lol
It was 1991 that was the last year for that style front, hood, frontside fenders, emblems, & interior. 1987 was the first year for those generation Ford F-series pickups & Broncos. That pickup there is an 8th generation F-series & I still see a lot of them on the roads today.
@Collin Jones the body style on those 8th generation "87-91" Ford F-series pickups look similar to the 7th "80-86" & 9th generation "92-96" ones.
@Collin Jones I have a 9th gen one, a '94 F-150 Lightning. It's a fast little o car & maneuvers easy but man it drinx up gas.
@Collin Jones yes it's the square one. The 10th gen ones are the bubbly ones which started back in '97.
where are all the spider webs ,rodent damage and why no weeds grown up around it if it had been sitting for years??? And for sitting the glass is awful clean...No leaves on or around the truck and no leaves in the bed???? and the tires appear to be properly inflated..
yeah i'd say he has actually had it started and moved around before. and probably hasn't been sitting there for very long. either way, I got me a free running truck!

Mine was sitting under trees for 4 years and glass was so dirty it had to be pressure washed before leaving with it and the tires were so dry rotted I had to air them up twice on the way home and brakes started sticking and burnt front and back brakes off cause I couldn't get them to free up. Week went by and it got a whole new brake setup from pads and shoes to lines and cali[ers and master cylinder.

My windows worked fine til the day after I got it. Driver side got stuck down on the way to work right before we got a 3 in rain fall.

It had a long history in our area. But it had several mechanical problems we were probably never going to have time or money to fix, so we recently sold the 75 power wagon to a kid who wanted to fix it up.
My 1990 Ford f250 I bought new died on me in June of 2020 I have put two engines in it and three clutches I wore the factory engine out bearings were going metal flake and oil reman motor lasted until I ran it out of oil and 2014 put a salvage yard engine in shortly after that and that motor still runs but it's giving me problems where I don't know if it's my fuel pump or something else Jim in Colorado

I let mine sit in my driveway under a carport for a few years, and it was covered in dirt. You couldnt see through the windshield. How in the world is that one so clean?
The first problem mine had, besides tires and batteries, is the alternator. It lasted 31 years. Holy smokes. It doesnt have the dual tanks that folks have problems with.

i have a 94 f150 and if you run out of gas you gave to prime the gas tank like 8 times back and forth with a key.
