Wow the comment section is honestly so positive and endearing , thumbs up for having the "balls" to call it as it is. Was worried the comment section would blow up with death threats knowing they've over 9k reviews.
Good comment on Nasi Lemak Wanjo, as for myself a Johor kid through and through now working and living in KL for 3-4 years, I have yet to get that same sambal as now I believe more towards my own Johor pallete like your previous video when you reviewd Coconut Valley. My mom cooks similar sambal too. Here is the kicker, I think Kuala Lumpur would be a crazy journey for you as it is the melting pot of multiple regional and state styles of their own blend , combination , method of Nasi Lemak. I believe every suggestion can be worth the try and taste! Good luck on your Journey dude!
Am a local and yes I agree that the rice is usually like that. It has a grainy and lighter coconut taste over the paste couple of times I've been there. Keep up the great videos Alderic!
Before u back to singapore, there is one hidden gem nasi lemak called nasi lemak wak kentut in a small town called kulai ( 40mins drive from CIQ). It's not bad also.
Wait you really read my comment in the earlier video; first NaLe and now Kampung Baru. Rats i should have given you the name. CT Garden, late night supper joint. Wanjo has extremely sweet sambal. Pak Hassan would be the moderate. But it was the contrast that I had wanted to underline. The opulence of NaLe and then you wander into CT Garden. The nasi lemak is all pre-packed. Tiny pyramids, you just grab as many as you want. The boat noodle of nasi lemak. No frills. In the darkness of the street, my friend squeezed his tiny car between two by the roadside, and a man with half lit cig resting on lower lip saunters asking for rm2 to take care of the car. That contrast. Nasi lemak capital.
Hi Alderic, as a Malaysian I have to agree with your verdict. I work within walking distance to Wanjo, and the one and only time I walked over to Wanjo I had a very disappointing experience with their Nasi Lemak. Hence it is also zero plates for me cause I definitely won’t even walk there for Nasi Lemak for sure.
@Alderic: I enjoyed the 'twist' in this video's ending! You crazy guy actually did it w.r.t. "I know the Rating... i know what i have to do ... But i don't know if i have the strength to do it!" (Won't spoil the Ending/climax, for those who haven't watched until the video ending!)
No worries, as a Malaysian, I understand. Nasi lemak should have lemak and you should be able to easily taste the coconut milk in the rice. I guess santan is getting too expensive for them to add freely.
Not sure if it's the style of Nasi Lemak in KL, but in general, i find the nasi lemak there lacks the rich coconut milk taste that i find most important in nasi lemak rice. To me, the taste of the rice makes the dish. Am waiting to see how's your review of Village park as that's another of my disappointments when i last tried them.
The comment about sambal cockles not being common made me laugh. As a Malaysian living in SG, I know what he means. Ain't no kerang in SG here but it's everywhere in MY.😂
I was like, did alderic stop uploading? I checked your channel and realized you post once every week. So i left your channel in the background while watching a video, then i close the video and you just uploaded a new vid, what crazy timing!
Tbh Tanglin are better coz their sambal spicy which malay like..especially the sambal paru 😮💨 delish.. other one my fav is Village park, the ayam so goood

Tanglin, Nasi Lemak Bumbung, and Village Park are some of the popular ones too

Xsedap lagsung....Done repeat!!!!!
I’d highly recommend “Nasi Lemak Peel Road” near MRT Cochrane station! It’s the best Nasi Lemak restaurant in KL😊

Must try nasi lemak at PJ Jalan 222. You can just eat the nasi lemak without any dishes. Try both the red vs blue stall
I remember the train in Tokyo had a lot of squish.
hi alderic can u try a relatively unheard of store at S111 Eating house located at boon keng
There is a "special" nasi lemak in Singapore... Durian nasi lemak @ MsDurianPastry. When you do come home 😂

Since you are at Kampung Baru area, would you try that Hakka style nasi lemak at Chow Kit too lol?
One of the places where it’s popularity was based on its past glory
Thanks!

I reckon nobody spot that humor you applied in the beginning. You turned 47? Now, that's April's Fool, for sure. Am I right?
Alderic has no mercyyyy!!🥵
+1 on keep eating with your hands Alderic!
where can I find paru goreng in singapore?
I think most nasi padang stalls should have them, they're pretty common. but it's usually pretty tough and overcooked.

Can you continue eating with your hand? :) Do not mind the haters, embrace the experience.
