as an Indonesian:
1. Indonesians don't fuck around with chili; it is either super aromatic or super spicy or both.
2. I also prefer sg/malaysia nasi lemak more than nasi uduk, don't really like some of the aromatics used in nasi Uduk
3. this video makes me reflect and think of how much I took kampung chicken from my hometown for granted. Now that I watched this video, I start to realize how there is always some missing flavors in Singapore chicken.
4. Hoping for more Indonesia arcs in future series

I’m gonna be that person to argue that _nasi uduk_ is different from _nasi lemak_ though. The difference with the aromatics used and the accompanying condiments is enough to warrant this difference, or why else would we differentiate between _bak chor mee_ and _mee pok tah_ then 😝
Anyways, Indonesians from the eastern part of Sumatra eat _nasi lemak_ as well. I know that you’ve left Jakarta, but Medanese version of _nasi lemak_ is quite easy to find in the city, and they come with stuff like pork _rendang_ and other morsels of goodness.
Our boy here claims he is barely making enough to get by, but is flying all the way to Jakarta just to introduce his viewers to nasi uduk. Keep the dedication up Alderic!

yeah very possibly. only thing that could have colored it that yellow. the chicken's diet may have contributed as well.

The way you explain cooking methods, guessing the ingredients remind me of Baek Jong Won hahah ... You made me miss nasi uduk! a nice nasi uduk usually uses spices like ayam kuning. In sg, I find the coconut club's chicken closely resemble indo's taste
oh and eating tahu tempe with nasi uduk is a must!

I'm indo but I actually prefer nasi lemak over uduk. I just tend to not care much about the sides on nasi uduk and there's something they add to the rice in uduk that adds a fragrance I like less compared to a simpler nasi lemak and I need my peanut and bilis and the sweet sambal. There's a few nasi lemak places in jakarta but their sambal, while similar to the ones in SG, is somehow several levels higher in spiciness, and I'm told by my peers that my spice tolerance is actually pretty decent despite me claiming otherwise.

Chicken is yellow due to tumeric. Do try padang medan baru at kota. but it's not nasi lemak
And here i am still walking through you continued saga. I just wished you DID NOT include the Nasi Uduk Kebon Kacang in the next episode. Again if they have the sambal kacang instead of the regular red sambal, go for sambal kacang for the nasi uduk.

I agree that Nasi Uduk is essentially same with Nasi Lemak. I believe Uduk comes from Wuduk, which synonyms to lemak (fat) in old Javanese language. The chicken is yellow because of turmeric...
