Actually it makes more sense this way, it just looks weird due to some feature of the german grammer, when translated to english (the fact that you can add nouns to eachother and still get a valid word) so something here is surely lost in translation but "Tank man" is really close. Furthermore it just should be noted that the "man" translation is the shortened version of human and therefore does not specifically refer to a male person. There are synthpop/futurepop groups in other countries like Pride and Fall and Apoptygma Berzerk (Norway) and Bruderschaft and Assemblage 23 (US) - their sound is very similar to And One!
