  • China is revolutionizing the automotive industry with its latest car. The speed at which this new vehicle is selling is staggering; the automaker received over 50,000 orders within just 27 minutes after the launch! Astonishingly, more orders are pouring in from interested buyers, and the count has soared from the initial 50,000 to over 100,000 within a few days.
    This unprecedented event has left experts and other car manufacturers questioning: What is this car? Who is this new automaker? How did they achieve such remarkable numbers? And what sets this vehicle apart? The stark reality is that nothing in life is perfect, no matter how successful. By the end of this video, you will gain insight into the backstory of this statement, the triumphs, and the challenges ahead. The automaker behind this remarkable feat is none other than the new Chinese company, "Xiaomi Automobile."

      this is simply a cheap video, read on Weipo what Chinese driver say about! most Chinese want give the car back, full of problems and a 1 to 1 copy of the Porsche. And you know why every smartphone company can build EVs, bcs Tesla gives the patent away for free! the price is possible only thanks to the CCP subvention, otherwise this company would make only debt!

    Nice car, and very reasonably priced. I don't think I have ever heard "double-touch screen" and "opulence" in the same sentence before. Kind of incongruous. Also, the narrator needs to look up the pronunciation of the word "epitome." Sounds REALLY strange when mispronounced (something that Richard Gere mocked Cindy Crawford about years ago).

Xiaomi admitted that all the cars sold for the next 2 years will be sold at a loss, just to slightly undercut Tesla. Tesla sold 600,000 cars in China last year. For the next 5 years the only competitor to Tesla will be BYD.

    Considering this is the initial introductory product in this new line, it is impressive. There's still a lot of ground to cover and improve - it's a tough market out there and technology keeps evolving. Apple did try to enter car manufacturing but utterly gave up. It's not just car manufacturing, it's about building a platform with AI integration across modern living applications.

      @zAlaska 6 дней назад

      The wheels fall off as the axle is pencil-thin. Doors can only be open electrically without a manual opener so during an accident the doors cannot be opened no matter how hot the fire. Airbags do not typically open during an accident according to the video I will share with you they have a 20% insurance claim rate already. That's one of the specifications.
      They discuss it in this video at the very beginning right after covering the initial flood coverage, 30 inches of rain in 1 hour.

      @Qingyi. 27 дней назад +2

      The whole vehicle is guaranteed for 5 years or 100,000 kilometers; key components are guaranteed for 8 years or 160,000 kilometers; vulnerable and consumable parts are guaranteed for 1 year or 20,000 kilometers; free road rescue service is provided during the warranty period of the whole vehicle; and there is a one-year free use right for the vehicle-mounted network service package. Xiaomi Motors' after-sales service is currently available in 29 major cities in China, and there are plans to rapidly expand service centers in the future. The charging network has been basically completed nationwide, and Xiaomi Motors can use the existing fully developed charging network because all charging stations are standardized. Regarding safety, let's start with the battery: it withstood being pierced by three bullets without catching fire or smoking. Regarding the vehicle body structure, there was a recent accident involving a collision between a Mercedes and a Xiaomi vehicle. The right front of the Mercedes collided with the right side of the Xiaomi vehicle, causing damage to the right front of the Mercedes which scattered, while the Xiaomi vehicle only had a dent on its right side door without detachment. The interior safety space was large, the rear right window was also undamaged, and the battery module suffered minimal damage, with only minor scratches. There have been several other accident cases where the impact was severe but the vehicle body did not undergo major deformation. Additionally, a blogger tested the Xiaomi SU7 by colliding with a fully loaded pickup truck at a speed of 80 kilometers per hour. The Xiaomi's A-pillar remained intact, the doors could be opened normally, the interior space was undamaged, and the refrigerator display screen could operate normally. Don't make baseless assertions,facts speak louder than anything else.

    China’s made a huge mistake making cars available there. Because of gridlock, in total disregard to all the motorways they built, in virtually every large city in China, it was significantly quicker to travel from A to B by bicycle 50 years ago, than travel the same route by car today. IOW cars have been a disaster in China. Plus because of their obsession with status & face, once Chinese have a car they won’t even walk or bicycle to visit somewhere on the same block, even if’s just 70m away, adding even more to the congestion.

    This video takes a closer look. Sales numbers are illusionary and it's hard to get honest statistics accept that the insurance agencies deal with real numbers. 20% of the car sold have already had a claim. The unibody frame breaks as it is fragile, also seen in videos more than once by myself. Airbags do not deploy even in serious accidents with brake failure common. Copy and paste is meaningless because you don't know the engineering details and you can't really copy the metallurgy without knowing the recipe.

    The shitty thing about Chinese cars is the fact they are produced in China. China has the ambition to dominate the world on trade, military power and technology. On top of that China is supporting Russia's war in Ukraine by trading with Russia in goods which also can be used for making advanced weapons. War in Ukraine means a weaker Europe, causingmore taxes to be paid by European and Western companies. Another reason for China to want this war to last, is cheap oil and gas imports from Russia.
    Furthermore, there is no level playing field between European caar manufacturers and Chinese car manufacturers. EV's coming from China are build using cheaper energy, cheaper raw materials, cheaper labour (due to less human rights within China), less climate and environment rules. And last but certainly not least, China has stolen many of Western car technology with the help of their own laws and Chinese hackers. Western companies were only allowed to access the Chinese market if they shared their technology with Chinese partners. Now those very same partners, like Geely (=Zeekr) declare war against European car manufacturers.
    These are all things we should consider before buying (and promoting) cars coming from China.

    Whilst America might keep these cars out of the USA for a long while, many countries do not have much, if any car industry. Norway for example, These Chinese cars will mop up all the sales in countries which just want efficient well priced cars. These will take Chinese car makers further down the cost curve with the consequence that eventually, when they do arrive in the USA, they will be even cheaper. In 2024, electric cars sales in China are projected to leap to about 10 million, accounting for about 45% of all car sales in the country. Source IEA 23rd April 2024.
