Nicely done Carl, tough conditions to say the least… I’ve just found your channel and subscribed, it’s often nice to watch a relaxed presentation like this one. Tight lines . @Grandpa_Chris
Hi Grandpa Chris R, thanks for taking the time watch and comment. Just had look at your channel, seen you went to Dever Springs, we are of there sometime March/April . Will be our first visit there. Will check out your vids. Cheers.
@@carlnewtonfishing6045 thanks Carl, Can I suggest that you you take a good selection of heavy stalking bugs and leach patterns, they are deadly at this time of year, secondly, don’t dismiss the thought of eggs and buzzers under an indicator, again very successful, My friend @Martyn Williams flies makes a great range of bespoke flies for Dever, Lechlade and Rockbourne trout fisheries, and has a library of Dever videos, if you get a few minutes check out my Bloke Rod appraisal video to see what you could tie into… Thanks for your feedback, it means a lot. Tight lines
Copper and gold variants work really well, likewise anything with a holographic or crystal flash strip added… Someone else you might take a look at for flies is Alex Moses @A.M. flies… he’s new to the market but ties some great flies, he’s a true gent.
@@carlnewtonfishing6045 hi Carl, I’ve been there a couple of times ie March and April, each time the trout had different tastes, heavy stalking bugs worked well, as did White or pink leach patterns, I also had success when I turned to the dark side and dangled eggs under a bung, Willow lake in the corner next to the middle stock pond is always worth a go, as you drive towards the car park it’s the first swim on the second lake… there is an inlet there and a deep hole a rod length out… try dancing a Copper and Gold bug under the corner tree, I’ve had some really decent fish in that corner… with the bung in mind, go round to the big willow tree swim and cast out towards the centre of the lake, about 30 yards should be enough , again there is a deep channel and once you find it sport should be great… good luck Carl
Very nice! I just subscribed! Thanks for sharing!
