Congrats, your guest caught his first fish ever. Thanks so much for helping the handicapped. I can't believe you really helped him catch fish. You're awesome bro.
One pointer I'd like to share with you that will definitely help you out. The drag setting is essential, especially when attempting to land trophy fish. I've noticed that your drag is on the heavy side a lot. If you hook into a 30 inch trout with a tight drag setting.. it'll be all over but the crying. Great video as always, Hawk🤙
I agree with you on this,I usually keep my drag very lose with great results in landing big trout ,I've caught 3 big trout this season using this method,I informed my brother about and he had great results in landing 3 big trout this year, his biggest was a 6lb.palimeno trout.
Yep. I hooked a brown once on a rapala on 6lb test that was huge, possibly 30" - it came upstream towards me, spun, and snap. Was so quick the drag never even engaged. I got a better reel after that (same shimano Fish Hawk was using) and also made sure I always had fresh 6lb p-line on the spool.
@@jcathell100Your drag should be set tight enough to provide resistance, but not so tight your line breaks. I fish 6lb for trout, so if my drag is set to 8lb, the line will break before line can be fed out. If it’s only set to 2lb, it doesn’t provide as much resistance to fight fish. So as heavy as you can without breaking off! Drag helps tire the fish AND keep line from breaking. It’s how fly fishermen land large fish with 3-4 lb line.
Promise kept. Some big fish in that river. I use a Shimano Stradic 2500 because the spool from the 3500 also fits it. 1 reel and can rapidly switch line weights at will. 2Lbs on one, 4Lbs, 8Lbs and 15Lbs (the 3500 spool) on individual spools. Makes changes a cakewalk.
I love watching your videos. Especially this one because I'm planning a three day camping and trout fishing trip with a buddy from work in May. Can't wait.
just crashed yellow creek trout club yesterday and got on som biggins. I only kept about 3 but caught 10 at least. One of them i accidently had to rip the lungs out cuz treble hook was stuck but what a great place for the family to come and fish for a day!
Honestly imma just keep it simple your videos are great and they bring people who like to fish close yo I love fishing this just made my day seeing this to be honest
Great vid!! I'm from the area and have fished the stream many times. There are some absolute slobs that live in there. Normally you can stumble into some big browns as well. Great watch!
That first rainbow trout thought she was a steelhead someone forgot to tell her LoL they got to be eating round the clock and a lot of it to put that kind of weight and length on. I never hooked a tiger trout I mostly fish for salmon and steelhead in the fall into winter. Great video that river looks beautiful I miss the great lakes and there tributaries I lived in Cleveland Ohio most of my life and fished Michigan Ohio Pennsylvania and New York for trophy brownies salmon steelhead Smalley's walleye. I love elk creek in pa.
DUDE, this place is BANGIN!! 😲 I DEFINITELY gotta go here someday with my nephew! 😲👍 He's an avid fisherman like myself and these fish are AMAAAAAZING!😳 Absolutely GORGEOUS BRUTES!! Thanks for anutha great vid bro.🙂👍 Plz keep em comin. Peace ✌😎
Hard to beat the old jerk minnow. I love the Rapala brown trout minnow, have caught trophy trout, smallmouth, and even walleye on it. Never caught a tiger trout though that was awesome!
Great video! Very informative and entertaining loved how you showed us each lure. Do you have any videos where you fish, cook and clean the trout? Or do you not eat trout?
I've never been there, but I'm pretty close to it. I thought that's where you were when I first saw the water. That is a gorgeous stream overall, but especially through that stretch where the fish are protected and they stock hogs the fishing is wild!
Awesome catches, congrats on the tiger! Spinner bite has slowed to a crawl on my part of the Columbia, I’ve gotta learn some new skills, drifting or jerkbaits… somethin’!
Future reference its better to fish from the back of any hole, drift, or run so you arent seen by fish. You cant see them but they definitely can see you

Thank you! I appreciate that a bunch!
Despite fishing being occasionally exciting watching Fish Hawk and those beautiful trouts drops my blood pressure! Thank you !

I don’t seem to get it do I want my drag set so line WONT pull out of reel or do I want it so hear it clicking when line is pulling out

I went to college in Indiana PA. Spent too much time drinking, partying, and chasing girls rather than exploring the outdoors.
Must've been some real dime pieces in western PA!
Indiana or PA?????

The tiger trout is still on my list here in NJ. I’ve seen em. P.A is just a 30 minute ride so we usually get em there.
On my list also! Supposedly still here in OR. Good luck 🤞
