    Ah yes, tennis from the expensive seats, where you can actually feel pace, see net clearance, see footwork, racquet work, etc. What they do to us in regular broadcast is a crime....equivalent to having golf broadcast from a blimp. Thanks for posting so I could enjoy watching tennis like I'm there. We need to start a petition to make the networks shoot from down low.

      PT bench me, you, and probably thousands upon thousands of others have been making that same com plaint for years! But, gotta get those sponsor names viewable from all angles! It's so dumb qnd and if the ATP actually cared about getting people excited for TENNIS they would have changed this a long time ago.

      then people should broadcast live with phone to get this view .. then networks will concede.

    Rafa ever the beast...but surprised at how solid Lucas is...never spent a lot of time watching his game. Good pace on 1st serve and really high kicking 2nd serve. I didn't google but i know Lucas has spent time in Dubai practicing with Federer too and I think he's been as high as world #15 (or maybe higher?)... Regardless, great vid and thanks for the post

    9:57 that’s what amazes me about nadal. Visibly upset at misses a shot most guys could barely get a racquet on.

    Nothing is more relatable than Nadal staring at the ball after missing an easy backhand like “well how the fuck did that happen?” At 7:28

    Also kinda rare to see a French player playing with Prince, most play with Head or Babolat.

    I love the angle of these practice videos. I can begin to imagine what facing a top player is like. Interesting also the difference between 1st and 2nd serve at 3:03. First serve is a blur, second serve I'm thinking "Hmm, I might be able to get a racket on that". On the speed gun I'll bet the difference doesn't seem so big.

    • @willkittwk
      @willkittwk 7 лет назад

      matsnotfat a lot of pros hit wussy second serves. lol I think Murray hit one 70mph in Monte Carlo. lol they are just super at defending and nutralizing the return. if you can't get back a second serve from anyone except Kyrios then you be tripping.

    • @matsnotfat
      @matsnotfat 7 лет назад +1

      Ha! I don't know about tripping, I am definitely a lower intermediate player! I take your point the occasional ones will be slow, and it's about not double faulting and consistency of the return. But if the tv speed guns are accurate Pro first second serves are usually over 100 mph. I have one of the faster serves at my club, recently I was on a tennis holiday and asked the teacher how fast he thought my quickest serve was and he said 'Maybe 100, just under' - I thought, great, I'll take that. Then I found out he meant 100kmh not 100mph!

      sungsupaek it’s the tour 100(p) series. Plays close to 16x19 being a 18x20. Prince did a great job with this racquet. I own a tour 100p too.

    man...hurts nadal so much not having a flat forehand at times...but then again he has advantages over everyone with that crazy western grip lets him hit crazy ass shots. Tennis is one of those weird sports where you can grow up learning a certai way and never learn how to hit a certain shot.
    I harp on this because my best shot is the inside out forehand. When I get an inside out forehand I can flatten it out or I can hit it with side spin that naturally happens even if you hit it almost as hard as you can. But Rafa has to let the ball dip so he can hit it with that western grip and even if he hits it on the rise the ball can't penetrate through the court as well.
    I don't know lol...it's just my inside out forehand whenever I had that shot I probably missed it 1 out of 100 times hitting it to the ad side. Of course I had to hit to the non ad side or else my opponent would start guessing it but hitting that inside out forehand to the ad side was as easy as breathing for me no matter how hard i hit it and no matter how the opponent hit the shot.
    I wonder if that shot is just easy or it just came easy to me? For some reason just flattening out my grip and hitting an inside out forehand with sidespin that naturally happens from the angle is easy peasy.

      Keykwan91 they try to put the ball up to the last line, because on the game they re going to hold them arms a little bit...

    • @PTbench
      @PTbench 8 лет назад +1

      With your ticket to a stadium match or a "grounds pass" you can watch all practices for no additional cost...or watch matches on outside courts. Nothing is free, but you don't have pay for individual practice sessions. At the time of this video you could go watch 20 other players practicing on other courts that matches aren't on.

      I just hope Nadal reads this so he can make the necessary adjustments and correct the amount of centrifugal force to a more manageable level allowing him to play at a higher level.
