Susan Polgar, 7 years older, once gave this commentary about Judit in one of her videos "One evening, I and Sofia were studying a particularly hard endgame with a trainer, a strong International Master. Unable to find the solution, we awoke Judit, who was asleep in bed and carried her into the training room. Still half asleep, Judit showed us how to solve the problem, after which we carried her back to bed" and according to Wikipedia, the following exchange, "At age 5, she defeated a family friend without looking at the board. After the game, the friend joked: "You are good at chess, but I'm a good cook." Judit replied: "Do you cook without looking at the stove?"

Judit is awesome. She is a very aggressive player who is unafraid to sacrifice a piece (or sometimes even two pieces) to open up lines of attack. She has the self confidence to do this knowing she will be able to back it up, and has won many a game because of this. She also has the courage and the self-respect to stand up for herself when people are rude or unfair to her. God bless her- this amazing woman!

It's a very subjective question, but here is my opinion. Without doubt, Judit is the strongest female player in history. Will another woman surpass her? Perhaps, but it will take a long time and a lot of achievements considering what Judit has already accomplished: * Polgar was the top rated female player for 26 years (1989-2015). * The only woman ever to make the Candidates tournament. * The only woman to have won games against 11 World Champions (including chess: Magnus Carlsen, Anatoly Karpov, Garry Kasparov, Vladimir Kramnik, Boris Spassky, Vasily Smyslov, Veselin Topalov, Viswanathan Anand, Ruslan Ponomariov, Alexander Khalifman, and Rustam Kasimdzhanov.) I can't recall any men that have defeated more than that number of world champions (but I haven't researched it); I think that covers every world champion from Spassky to Carlsen except Bobby Fischer. * The first woman (and one of very few) to break 2700 ELO. * She accomplished many of these achievements while being actively opposed by her country and it's chess federation. We may eventually see another woman that is technically stronger than than Polgar, but I am doubtful that we will ever see another woman so completely dominate women's chess spanning 4 decades the way that she did.

Of course Judit is the greatest female player, when another woman breaks the world top ten then she has competition. It appears (to my untrained eye) that Polger played like a super strong engine from the very start. That Anand was able to perform so well in such conditions is a great credit to him.
Greatest female ever? Probably, but I'd be more comfortable with a discussion of her tactics rather than her gender. Fact is, she's one of the best attacking players to ever sit at a chess board. Based on the results of this tournament, it doesn't look like attacking all the time works out in terms of ratings, but in terms of entertaining chess, it's top drawer stuff.
Great game, and Judit is probably the greatest woman player since she has beaten most of the great men's GM and has done well in open chess tournaments
Lot of comments on the "Anand was 6 years older than her" and they all have the same dumb take as to laugh at the statement and point out he is still 6 years older seemingly saying that is insignificant. Relative age is very important. For instance, a 35 year old world chess champion playing a 41 year old world chess champion has a distinct advantage. This is obvious. It's also extremely relevant given Judit beat 11 world chess champions from Spassky to Carlson. Beating them way after their prime or before they got there is relevant. Acting like agadmator didn't make a valid point and is being sexist or ageist is extremely disrespectful and highlights your own stupidity.
4:43 Rf8 to Re8 making escape square for the king and simultaneously pinning the bishop. How can black continue. After thinking a while the black can continue Rg1 takes bg7 forcing black king to take the rook. Else, the black king moves to Kf8, then rg7 to rg8 check making black king either to take the rook or move to Ke7. Thereby unpinning the black bishop. Else if the king captured the rook, then Qg3 check followed by Be5 captured white queen.
It is TRUE that she is best and it is TRUE that she is female. So what's wrong with joining the two phrases and saying that she's the best FEMALE player?
I saw this quote of her "I always say that women should have the self-confidence that they are as good as male players, but only if they are willing to work and take it seriously as much as male players." The "but only if" part is key here. You don't get "as good as men" if you're not crazy level dedicated. You don't get there by wishing it very hard and assuming you're entitled to. Oh and even if you are dedicated, you will most likely fail. Losers outnumber winners infinitely.
Coz in world of sports two separate competitions are set, one for males and other for females! In all sporting events there r two distinct categories! No doubt she is the best among women chess players! Ego shouldn't be hurt when the fact is stated. It's like Venus Williams playing Roggy in tennis!?

Anand didn't expect his knight not to be captured. This is a different level positional game
1st to watch.Always awaiting for your videos.
She always opened with e4, I believe. I think she beat almost all men but maybe not Kasparov.
dry5555 she has beaten Kasporov. You should check out the game it's a beauty.
Pierre
Why do you say "her" tactics? I would feel more comfortable if you didn't refer to the white player's gender at all.
beating a player once doesn't make a player stronger
you should look at their games
bowrudder , youre just a dumbass cretin, i piss and shit on Your politc correctness and Comfort zone as such hehehe
Great game, and Judit is probably the greatest woman player since she has beaten most of the great men's GM and has done well in open chess tournaments
such an awesome player judith.. i think queens gambit tv show is based on her
we all see games where people have lost or won.
But rarely any game is uploaded where Judit is crushed.
I misunderstood the title thinking that she had a crush on Anand!!!
Any girl will have crush on 5-times world champion
Anand wanted a early hand shake with Judit.
And here I'am who thought she had a crush on him 😂😂
He needed his coffee on this day
That quote from Fischer is probably one he would hate to read out loud if he were alive lol
Of course I think she is the only female really famous chess player.
What makes this channel so great is that sweet Russian accent.
Strašno! Anand je gubio kao dete pred navalom belih figura.
I don't know if she's the best female ever, but she's honestly the only one I've ever heard about and respected.
That Fischer quote's ironic after you hear him say how much he hates chess now
He also says "I'm dead now, since 2008."
Without a doubt Judit Polgar is definitely the strongest female chess player of all time!
What do u think of queens gambit series. How realistic is it
Your dog at 5:39 was so cute.
The dog is too old now so he doesn't move around a lot anymore
judit's attack moves are so beautiful, she was born a true attacker
This Video's Thumbnail is totally different in what the actual game is shown in this video.!
It is TRUE that she is best and it is TRUE that she is female. So what's wrong with joining the two phrases and saying that she's the best FEMALE player?
I saw this quote of her "I always say that women should have the self-confidence that they are as good as male players, but only if they are willing to work and take it seriously as much as male players."
The "but only if" part is key here. You don't get "as good as men" if you're not crazy level dedicated. You don't get there by wishing it very hard and assuming you're entitled to. Oh and even if you are dedicated, you will most likely fail. Losers outnumber winners infinitely.
JUDITH POLGAR IS THE BEST CHESS PLAYER EVER IN FAMALE CLASS ,AND ONA OF THE BEST CHESS PLAYERS EVER =IN MALE CLASS EITHER =EVEN TOP 5 !!!
Coz in world of sports two separate competitions are set, one for males and other for females! In all sporting events there r two distinct categories! No doubt she is the best among women chess players! Ego shouldn't be hurt when the fact is stated. It's like Venus Williams playing Roggy in tennis!?
notice how her face is on the thumbnail as a clickbait, and never in the video.
*Ituti X Noti.* Because there is such thing as Men's Chess Tournaments and Female Chess Tournaments. Get over it.
He simply called her the way she is, a female chess player. Nothing wrong about that.
You get a good sense of her strength and playing style.
Such a fun game! She seems awesome.
She played such hot moves, that the chessboard caught on fire !
Mann, that moves that lead to pinning both of rooks was awesome. 👏
Polgar definitely was the best female grandmaster and still is this far. Yifan has a chance to pass her at some point but we shall see if that ever happens or not.
She was probably the strongest IM ever because at 12 she was already ranked 55th in the world.
Really admire Judit Polgar. Such brilliancy. Relentless attack.
There's something Vishy about this...
I like that game. They both play kamikaze style. Better than watching positional game lasting for ever.
yay comment war
ATMunn haha yeah half the entertainment is down here lol
That was a **HMMH** great game by Polgar
Thank God he stopped doing that throat clearing
It’s really hard to judge who is the best ever because of the advent of engines. Today’s players have a huge advantage in that way.
Agadmator i also play on lichess and want to play a game with you which time you play on lichess
+Nav Sidhu I will stream tomorrow at 16:00, hope you can join us :)
Which time zone?
I love the style of Judit Polgar. Not so defensive like Karpow.
Polgar won the majority of her speed games against Fischer, who stayed with the family, or visited, when he was on the lam.
