She wouldn't be the favourite, obviously, but she beat Carlsen in a casual blitz game only a couple of months ago, so the idea that any top 10 would just destroy her is absurd. Sounds like you need a reality check, not the ghosts you're arguing with.
To be fair, she was like the only woman in the top 100, and clearly the only one in the top 30. Most people would only be expecting to see male GM's (since there were just more of them and they were better at the game, all things considered, there were only titans in that era). Maybe it was just a way of letting everybody know that she was a Woman GM, since, like I said, there weren't that many of them, especially at the top level. No need to think I'll of FIDE for highlighting their players

By itself, "g" says it all for any grandmaster of chess today. Judith is an awesome player and clearly (through her writings and commentary) also is a master of the logic of chess.
Never seen a Polgar's game that wasn't spectacular. It's like Alien: you're going to die, you don't know where death will come from: just that's inevitable. She is still strong enough to look Magnus straight in the eyes, even now. An absolute beast, in my humble opinion in the gotha of the best ever. Not just because of her many wins, but because how she wins: like a blood thirsty tiger with a surprising, lethal, creative mind.
I used to absolutely love the attacking style of Judit. She had to deal with a lot as one of the only women in the world playing in a man's world, and she proved all the doubters way wrong. Way.
Not really a killer. Nothing special honestly. Shirov blundered many times and she just played obvious moves i easily found every move she played to punish his mistakes. She was number 8 for only a month or a bit longer, but she doesn't have the consistency and potential that men have to hold that rank even tho she completely dedicated her youth to chess more than many male players. That's the difference between us. Chess is the man's game and nobody can change that. But compared to the rest of female players Judit really is a killer. Compared to men she is the average male grandmaster. Nothing too "ingenious" because it's not real potential. It's just a speculation on your part.
This game was like a mystery for me. Everyone was talking about it at certain points in time. Whenever I hear about that I’ll add a comment here, finally it’s show time. Love both legends!!

You were clued to look for the "best move" at the right moment. With some basic chess knowledge the possibility that you find a 1 move continuation is very high. Let's see you do it in your own games.

Judit is not just my favourite female player she is my favourite player of all time....I've seen many of her games and she is so ahead of the game as to other female players she takes away the fact that you are watching a woman play.... the greatest male players of her era must have been terrified to play her because she could take any of them down....her game against Carlsen last year as a crowd pleaser was just phenomenal.... Carlsen took it in good spirits mind you...great analyst of the modern game when commentating and easy on the ear..

The FIDE ranking list is a major blunder. I think that, at the time she did it, Judit was the youngest Person to become a grand master. She should be listed as a GM. Her older sister, Susan, was the first female player to become a grand master, in her early twenties.
