Wish I could use prepreg, it makes these shapes so much easier. All I do is wet lay, and vents and other shapes like this are an absolute nightmare for me, even in split molds
hello , great video !! i have a question , when you put the piece in the oven , when you connect the bag to the pipe , is it to inject epoxy resin or is it to remove the air ? thank you
What kind of spray gun do you use? And what kind of clear do you use? I have an unfinished project that needs a clear coat. Looking for recommendation.
Hi, I use this one - "SGS 100 Litre Direct Drive Air Compressor - 14.6CFM 3.0HP 100l" I was told to get direct drive instead of belt driven and get 100L for multiple small parts like the video it can be sprayed on one tank of air. Never had any problems with this one.
It is so much easier just to use CARBON FIBER material with fiberglass hardeners over a mold. No, it’s not gonna have the same strength, but it’s gonna have the same look if not better!!
Wet lay is what you are referring to, but no not fibreglass resins, you use epoxy resins for laminating, however, wet lay is much harder to get authentic finishes on objects like this, prepreg is the standard for this.
I'd really like love 💛 to put that on my car ek hatch 96 1bowner Canada and 1 American EK9 96I HAD BITH AND SOMEONE STOLE IT REALLY SPOON ENGINE DART BLOCK AWD CRX ET.
Love it!! Im seriously thinking of getting into this, so rewarding!
pre preg is the gold standard 😎
Subbing mostly because he made tea correctly, and a little bit because the carbon fibre is awesome
😂☕
Wooh that tea's strong lol
Nice work 👍
Proper brew ☕
Great video! I've always wanted to be able to make this stuff
Awesome job love carbon fibre ❤

Yeah, that's the reason I moved to prepreg. Was to limited things I could make
a question ; if we had the materials and tools lik you have , what is the cost of production of this bonnet cooling vent ?
Impressive.
Very nice work fosho
Good job
Nice work
Hi, I have a question. How do you attach these new parts?
You have a great jobs! :)
Most of these parts will be bonded into position. Using a silicone or tiger seal
Love to have some or have some made you know what I mean I made the 3 stage but never put it on 1 piece
hello , great video !! i have a question , when you put the piece in the oven , when you connect the bag to the pipe , is it to inject epoxy resin or is it to remove the air ? thank you
The resin is already in then carbon fibre. The hose attached is a vacuum line to remove air.

I use devilbiss gti pro lite gun. And Lechler 2000 macrofan 2k clear coat
Супер!
how did you make your moulds?
Please check my other videos
You sprayed clear coat? Or more resin?
It's finished with 2k clear coat 👍
fuck yeah that looks amazing
Hi, great video, you are really good at it, can you recomend me your lvlp gun and nozzle size ? i am having trouble with my hlp, and clear coating..
Thanks, I use DeVilbiss GTi Pro Lite gun. With TE10 1.2mm cap
Info on the Bag Sealer?
Just a standard heat sealing machine.
How do you make a back side of the part if it has mounting parts or bolt protrusions?
To fit this part the panel would be cut out and the vent would be bonded into position around the lip.
My pre peg pieces come dry and with holes. What could be the problem? The molds are in vinylester. Greetings from Italy.
Biggest problem will be the mould, it needs to be epoxy gelcoat for best results
@@CarbonWorkshops Thanks for the advice. Surely the material is creating problems for me.
@@Dennis_spl what prepreg are you using
@@CarbonWorkshops excel tc2003t125/m79
Which side do you recommend to apply the pre peg. Side of paper or plastic film? A thousand thanks
Love the video! What’s the final vacuum bag you use? That’s far easier than the ol’ gumtape lol
Haha good for small parts. They are food vacumm boil bags.
No release agent at the start?
Yes always start with that every lay up. (must of missed it from the video) 🥺
@@CarbonWorkshops what release agent do you use?

What compressor do you use, would you recommend it? My next purchase for this exact job.

What type of carbon fiber did you use for that project?
Prepreg carbon fibre

HI, l have a 2022 Ford Explorer ST. Would you be interested in making a carbon fiber mirror caps to sell to me?
Do you take on commissioned work?
Unfortunately not at the moment sorry
Very cool, it came out great!
What is the name of the oven and how much did it cost to get it?
Thanks! The oven is from Easy Composites it's about £1800

I just did my first part wet with epoxy. This looks a millon times easier lol
Haha yes in some ways prepreg is alot cleaner and neater. But comes with a lot of other issues that could happen 🙈
