I saw the spray foam and I was like "nah" then I saw the fiberglass and I was thinking okay, then I wondered how it was a diffuser without the fins, then you brought it all together with the plexiglass and I was convinced. This is fantastic! Super great job
I've never made body kit stuff before and have been playing around with a similar idea, having experience with fiberglass. Just seeing that someone else has done it now I'm probably gonna try lol

@@VIK7ORIOS_WORKSHOPexcellent idea and excellent work. To fix/glue it, did you apply the polyester resin all over the bumper before applying the PU expanding foam?
Love this. Forgive my ignorance, I see many videos making mold and countermold. Will the foam stay underneath? Hasn't this affect the difference material shrinkage? Thank you so much!
this is nuts. your patience and dedication to the craft here really paid off. the results are incredible! definitely beats anything you could get for the price of materials. how long did it take?
Cool idea with the foam!! I would suggest using chicken wire next time and putting the fiber glass on that to save weight and have straighter lines A good youtube video for inspiration - "How to make a fiberglass mold for a motorcycle seat // Paul Brodie's Shop"
Beautiful craftmanship. Takes quite a bit of skill and patience though, I likely would chicken out myself and buy a scrapyard escapee, couch potato that I am! 😅
It came out really nice, man! Now, since you went to all the trouble using plexiglass for the Thins, you should have left them clear and drilled a little hole in from the back side and inserted an LED. Then, each one would have glowed around the edges at night time. Again, great job!
Very little actually, 10 mil plexi would be roughly 2.5lbs a square foot, cant be more than that on there, sprayfoam is about a half pound per cubic foot, doubt theres more than 2 cubes left after trimming, fiberglass, while still not as light as carbon, is pretty light, 3 pounds a square yard on average cured, likely 2.5 yards were used, add about 8 ounces of bondo left after bodywork... I'd say 11.5 pounds or less. 🤷♂🤣
Good job the only thing I'd have done different is cover the entire lower section of the bumper in masking tape prior to the foam stage pushing the tape flush into the shape of the bumper.this would have allowed you to seperate the splitter from the bumper once you had it glassed. The foam can then be removed and the splitter would be a seperate piece to the bumper rather than 1 whole piece
@@VIK7ORIOS_WORKSHOP again I'm not knocking it, even as a one piece it makes sense to tape the bumper and remove the foam after glassing. It can still be moulded in one piece as easy just without all that unnecessary material underneath is my point. Take it as constructive criticism, you done good mate
@@jsweeney1983It’s a good point, I am about to do a project and nervous about keeping foam underneath as it will get dampness etc and this may lead to cracking or bubbling… still, it’s a great job and also quick results 👌🏻

Great video - really like the tip on using expanding foam. Much faster than carving two sides of a block and lots cheaper! Thanks for the inspiration.
Glad it was helpful!
Dont know how this video was recommended to me but you did an incredible job on that diffuser, I was expecting some haggard job.
Much better than yet another glue on diffuser. Looks great.
Thanks!
Results are not perfect. Dude you killed that .that turned out absolutely amazing.
Right On! Used similar methods to make a custom pop top camper. Great to see other homemade builds doing the same DIY approach.
I have been looking to see what sort of finish u can get with fiberglass without making a mould. Thanks for posting.

Yeah it's easier than making them with fiberglass 😀
How difficult was this? I’m sure it’s a lot cheaper than buying a diffuser that looks like this, im thinking of doing this too, great work
Not that hard just time consuming, especially the sanding part. Also makes it easier if you have the right tools for the job.

Very good work. My question is how long will it last? The adhesion usually doesn't last over time do to vibration and wind.
It's not just the foam holding it, the diffuser is molded to the bumper with resin so it acts like a glue.
