Yes, you are just complaining. Because you're only comparing it to the 15. But you said it yourself in the beginning that most ppl don't upgrade year-to-year. I upgraded from a 12 mini and I am very happy with it. I was astonished at how the iPhone 12 was not that old and Apple's been known to keep iOS fast and smooth on old phones and yet the increase in speed was still greatly noticeable. Another comment on something I myself also noticed: although I skipped 3 generations, the user experience was not all that different (and thus not exciting). But I view it as a pro because most ppl buy iPhones for its reliability. They don't have to adapt to a new phone every time they upgrade. They just seamlessly transfer and can start using right away without having to worry about customization or compatibility. One big reason I myself use an iPhone is because I don't want to be viewed as someone who spends a lot of time beautifying or playing with their phone. Only complaint I have in common is the noticeable lag of 60 Hz. I hate it how Apple keeps getting away with it because "most ppl don't care". But I'm also not buying the pro phones because $200 more just for that is not worth it (I don't want other pro features).
@ in his previous video he did say if you're upgrading from an older phone then it's good but if you're coming from an earlier one then.its not that good.
I love how most are contradicting: "Apple is making e waste and not innovaring" You realise if Apple would innovate like you want it would make so much waste :))
The number of people out there who don't care about the refresh rate to me is wild. I work with some of those people who when I have mentioned something about the refresh rate. They just look at me and ask "what's that?" I can't even imagine going back after having used the higher refresh rate panels.
I sold my iphone 14 pro max and “downgraded” to a base 13 and had them side by side and still couldn't notice anything. It doesn’t make any difference in the life of most users so that's why nobody cares…
@ No difference at all and had them side by side. Most people won't notice, it isn't just me. It is just a strategy to justify having to buy the last models, because yeah that one is half a second faster.
Personally I have 60hz on my ipad and I don't mind the choppiness but that's because it's expected . But nope not on these iphones. Once I pay a phone for above 500$ , I expect something that is needed , even if it's apple , maybe at 650$ they should give 90hz , so this is like near 800$ and 60hz is not welcomed one bit. I don't mind slow refresh rate if it's expected. Apple's smooth animation is something I like , but you can't just settle. Your not ONE PLUS are you ?. So customers shouldn't settle on this , they'll but still but , atleast iphone 17-18 , base should be 90hz. Otherwise I don't see who's going to buy iphones except people who're swapping or just want a new tech or a tech lover like me but has more money.
I am willing to invest a big premium to get the 120 hz Pro Motion on my iPad Pro but not on the iPhone! On the iPad is made much more sense because you are spending big time scrolling to long web pages. I don't do that on a iPhone. For me the iPhone is mostly App orientated with static screen display. That may be different for heavy TikTok or Instagram users...
They can’t, well not until technology advances further, it’s cause unlike android or one plus they have multiple sensors like proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, flood illuminator, infrared camera, front camera, and speaker, they made an alternative solution by introducing the Dynamic Island
It’s definitely worth considering, I’m currently testing out a 15 Pro that I got Premium Refurbished on Amazon by Amazon so I got a year of repair or replacement for $700. It’s the base 128 model but I have dongles and adapters for my SD cards if I want to do heavier style photography and videography. Jumping from the 13 mini and it’s been a solid experience, not earth shattering but definitely more noticeable improvements that add convenience to the user. I chose it because it’s the closest phone in width and for the price point it was worth a shot.
I would love to stop buying Pro iPhones and go back with a standard or even a mini with a high refresh screen. It's pushed me over to Android bc the Pros have extra features i don't need or want. I don't take pictures, so the camera bump is obnoxious. I'm a content consumer, not a content creator.
iphone users not only like 60hz but they love corks and feature like the camera button, only downside it's not expensive enough too many people are able to buy it.
I upgraded to a 16 because I was using an iPhone X which is still going strong but there’s enough improvements and differences to make the upgrade worth it. But really, can I do more with my 16 than my X…..? No….its still just a camera that I can make calls on…
I had the 16 plus before I switched mine to the 16 pro within 1 week of usage. I pay a bit more extra, but I believe it is worth it for me. The 60Hz display is a pain to my eyes, and I can confidently said that no longer will I be buying a phone without high refresh rate. Apple needs to stop using low refresh rate at this point; almost every android phones, even ones that are $200 come with 90Hz so a phone that cost $829.
I think in some things they're doing a god job, but in some ways they're lost their way, my personal view as a consumer. I do respect that it's a well made product though

I'm a 20th century man, 75 years old now. My profession was Sculptor. I bought my first cell phone 9 years ago. It was a cheap android that I had a hard time figuring out. A few people suggested I buy an Apple phone, that they were more intuitive. I bought a 2nd generation SE when they first came out and it was a whole lot easier to operate. I'm now thinking of upgrading. As an artist I use the camera a lot. I really like the thought of having a macro lens again (I had one on my Nikon FE2.) I would very seldom use a telephoto lens so I don't feel a need to go to a Pro model just to get that. I'm not a gamer. Can people suggest what iPhone would be best or sufficient for me, 14, 15, 16, pros, should I wait for the 17s whenever they come? I would probably have this phone for a long time. Do I want an AI capable phone?

E.g. is has the newest processor generation (not like the regular iphones before), the best battery life of any regular iphones, 8 GB RAM (the same as the Pro models) and a macro lens. Good review - although I feel like your take on camera control is a little narrowminded. One of your criticisms of camera control is that you feel it is quite redundant on a touch screen device. The thing is, smartphones have gotten much larger since the days of Steve Jobs, and while this may just be me, it is very difficult to adjust some settings with the phone one-handed, especially if you have smaller hands or the larger plus model. Camera control, while still rather unintuitive and fiddly, allows for those controls to be adjusted with one hand, like adjusting zoom or exposure. There is a learning curve I agree, but I'm happy the 16 line-up has it as Apple should hopefully refine it and make it better for more people. (Unless they do what they did with 3D-touch, but that depends on how many people end up using the feature)
